Yearly Pro Subscription for $10

Suddenly, our CEO burst into our lantern-lit conference room and yelled out "GIVE IT TO THEM FOR $10 A YEAR." "For life?" we asked, knowing how contentious that word had now become. "For as long as we or they are alive - and the user doesn’t cancel the plan,” he replied. The reaction was palpable. We looked at each other in disbelief… that’s about 83 cents a month for Windscribe Pro - the cheapest it has ever been. And it’s only available to our OG’est of OG users. It will never be available to anyone else. It cannot be shared, it cannot be posted anywhere and it’s exclusive so you must be logged into your 50/60 GB account to get the deal. This offer will only be available until September 1st, 2023, after that it’s gone forever.

Make sure to pay using PayPal rather than a card if taking this deal.

I was reading earlier that they do not support updating payment details and require you to cancel your plan and take out a new subscription:

windscribe.com/kno…nfo

This would mean that unless you're paying with PayPal, your new "Lifetime" offer may only end up being for the lifetime of your current payment card!

Be sure to sign up using PayPal, to change credit card details you need to cancel the subscription.

Damn it, paid by FX fee free credit card and then saw this. Lasts till 2027, hopefully I can ask support to change my billing details in the future.

I can’t see anything about how many devices you can use this on or whether, if limited, the process/restrictions for moving it to another device. Can anyone assist please?  Thanks.

I believe it's unlimited - but with fair usage applying.

Just signed up myself, and was looking through the tech documents. One of their staff mentioned they weren't bothered if people shared account access with partners, but if anyone was taking the píss with masses of concurrent logins they would get their account suspended.

In fact, just found this for you:

    rus.windscribe.com/kno…ime

You can use Windscribe on all your personal devices without any issues. But please keep in mind that the Windscribe service is strictly for personal use, so make sure those devices are yours and you are not using the service in any sort of datacenter environment or using it for commercial purposes. No one has 30 personal computers that all need a VPN enabled simultaneously or 25 phones that all need a VPN connection at the same time. This sort of extreme use will almost always get your account banned.

How can you trust a company who has betrayed customers and changed "lifetime deals" with the flick of a switch!

    Cold!

I've just realised they've reduced my allowance from 50gb to 10gb. No trust whatsoever (edited)

Just open the app in your laptop and it states the offer there if you are logged in and eligible. That's what I did. It took me to their webpage where I logged in again. The offer was there for me to purchase. Easy purchase now a Pro user for £10/year for my lifetime or theirs.

Thanks OP, I've used the free allowance of windscribe and I've found it to be very good for geo blocked streaming services.

My understanding is that this is only for certain accounts...
I am on a free 30GB plan, and I can not see this offer.
    Blasphemous's avatar
Yes, as per detailed by the OP...

I'm only on the free 30GB plan so this won't be for me but a great deal for those who are on the lifetime 50-60GB plan

I've been thinking over this deal since hearing about it back in June. I only use Windscribe a few times a month but decided to go for it today before the September 1st deadline rolls around and I end up forgetting about it/missing it. In the end, I thought for 68p a month for a Pro account it's a no brainer really. I used PayPal as advised above (thanks guys), my Windscribe account upgrade was instant, full servers now available.
Thank you for the heads up on the deal deleted2936804 (edited)

    I couldn`t at first,

Open a seperate tab , log into your windscibe account and then click the link.

If you already have the 50/60 Gig lifetime account from a while back the offer will appear.
    Hope that helps.

They took away my free 30GB and put me back on 10GB recently. Still, can't complain. They're great for reaching ISP-blocked torrent sites and grabbing links
    digweed's avatar
Yeah they did the same to me last month

Only open to a very select few, and if they have your email address, you'll most likely have already received an email about this so it's not much of a "deal" in my opinion.

I had the email and I think I'll go ahead and sign up, though I might hold off for a couple of months and see if there are any issue's caused by the considerable increase in usage from the people (like me who currently use Nord etc) moving up to it. Hopefully there'll be no discernable difference.

I have lifetime Pro windscribe. Really good service. Fantastic emails to make you laugh. Great price for those who are eligible.

Is Windscribe any good for torrents?
Firstly, does it work and secondly, do you get good download speeds? (edited)
    Pikachou's avatar
It works pretty good, but for torrents it must be said that it depends on the seeds/peers numbers. I don't use it often for such stuff anymore, but from my experience on a 200mbps line using the 1G vpn servers, for well seeded torrents I was getting over 40mbps download speeds.

Might be a conspiracy to keep Putin alive forever...?
  22. M4tt31's avatar
Been using them for years now, I have previously paid for pro at $29 and it worked fine so for this price I don't mind paying at all. Set it up this morning. It was £8.16 via PayPal though. (edited)
  23. _taurus_'s avatar
Slow VPN and poor for torrents and any video streaming, the average speed I had with their premium servers in Europe was 15-20 mbps... Have 2 years nordvpn currently and is far better than windscribe... (edited)
    Samuelmccartney's avatar
Could just change the VPN protocol for faster speeds?

I get well over 200mbps using Europe servers. Wireguard normally has the fastest speed in my case.

I used to have the 50GB account. Only checked less than a month ago and was still on it. Now I’ve logged in and noticed it’s gone down to 10gb. What’s going on?
  25. Tanky's avatar
I’ve been using the free version for a couple of months. When I don’t use it for a while it gets upset and asks why.

Will the deal upgrade to Pro with a 60/50/40 gb limit or is it PRO unlimited download for 10 Dollars?
  27. KIRK_LAZARUS's avatar
Does anyone even read their emails at this point ??

We are still going to downgrade these free 50/60 GB lifetime plans, but only when Vladimir Putin aka Putler aka Senator PalPutin dies.
Yes we are serious. When Putin dies, all Big Gig plans will be downgraded. It could be tomorrow, it could be in 20 years. We don’t know and neither do you.

Luckily out of 4 windscribe accounts , 1 of them is eligible 😁 . I am only 6 months in on the 3 years subscription . Very tempting (edited)

It was ok years ago but only for certain countries, customers service was so slow I ended up switching to Nordvpn.
  29. calinn's avatar
They took away my 50gb lifetime deal a couple of weeks ago, this has left me ineligible for this offer.
Luckily I had another account that is 30gb a month for now.
  30. Akama's avatar
I took the deal, though only found out it was happening today when they offered it at this price, prob did get the email before but usually never read them. Seems all free accounts will go back to 10gb a month.
Good VPN and very good price, just not free.
Bit like when onedrive went from 30gb storage to 5gb, but they at least let you have a chance to keep it by confirming, similar would have been nice.
  31. Miller256's avatar
I got this email this morning and took them up on it. Windscribe may not be the fastest (I get around 35Mbps when using the VPN but 70Mbps when not) but its perfectly fine for my usage and they don't keep any records about usage, etc that a number of other VPNs do (i.e Nord).

I paid through paypal which after conversion was currently £8.12 for the year. More than happy to pay that for my Life (or theirs).

Many Thanks to whoever the litigious American suing them for false advertising was as well!

firstly - thanks for voting and commenting (including the nay sayers and conspiracy ppl)

Windscribe send tongue in cheek emails so the
    "it cannot be shared..."
statement is a carrot to share it ( i fell for it)

if you have slow speeds google it and you will find changing to another port and using the wireguard protocol
on my glinet router i used port 80 and went from 50Mbs to 220Mbs (my max is about 300 when quiet on 5g network)#

i had a few 50/60 gig accounts for "a friend" to use for torrenting and sharing... they all have the upgrade option so apologies to those of you who missed the upgrade...

for those of you who just got downgraded - perhaps contact customer support and mention your a little bit unhappy and would like the deal ( wink wink) h ttps//windscribe.com/con…ort

thought i'd got away with being downgraded to 10gb but got message 2 days ago....

disappointing as i don't recall the uplift to 30gb being a temporary measure or certainly not mentioned as such
  35. nige182's avatar
Such a great offer, it was already good at 50/60GB free obviously, but this price for the Pro subscription is just superb. They don't offer the ability to update payment method yourself, so if you pay by card rather than PayPal you will need to contact support to see if you can update payment method when your card is due to expire.

I do wish they had offered this to 30GB accounts too though as a friend of mine had one of those and it got downgraded to 10GB but I think they would have highly appreciated this offer as well. (edited)
