Key difference from mx3 for me is that only the Bose will connect to two devices at a time. Plus the recipient call quality is substantially better. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure you couldn’t tell the difference in a random “taste test” experiment. I’m not saying there aren’t marginal differences in ANC / base etc, I’m saying that if you heard one at random, I’m not certain those differences are so great that you’d always be able to correctly identify which one you were listening to. Other differences re touch vs buttons, style, battery life, usb-c are all a bit meh to me. But having said that, if the mx3 had multipoint connectivity and better call quality, I’d have gone with them instead purely on the feature set. 700s will change all that. The additional external mics for enhanced call quality are steps ahead again.

meherenow

Had these and returned as I found the bluetooth range woeful, always cutting out. Went for the Sony WH-1000XM3 and can now wander around the house no bother.

padamowicz93

Just get the xm3 or wait and try 700s. I had xm3 and qc35 2 for weeks and bose are significantly worse as far as sound quality goes.

highwayman8155

Omg... I just looked at the 700 spec

Yes, it will work like a regular Bluetooth. Although it does have a few more features when connected to an iOS device.

wakkaday

Could this work with Samsung tablets

ezzer72

I have no issue with wireless charging, I accept that some phones run out of charge a few times a day (though my P20 Pro isn't one of them (y) ) but my Airpods need charging about every 2-3 weeks... I'm mainly offering this advice for people who are considering their first set, and don't know if they need to pay the extra for wireless - they don't.

mango.carrot

I own both sets, the wireless charging is a nice to have. No one needs wireless charging for anything, but it’s convenient and it’s the way everything is going

ezzer72

Sure, but again, they really don't need charging very often, I'm sure anyone that owns a set will get my point. And in that scenario, your phone's battery would be robbed, so that would then need charging much sooner. Totally pointless feature, and not worth 1 extra penny.

Bose is far better than the Sony for comfort. This is because the Sony ear cups are too small - particularly if you wear specs. There is very little difference in noise cancelling. Sony sound quality may be slightly better. What worries me about the Bose ones is the non removable battery - which would likely fail in 3 years. Can't remember whether the Sony is removable

smuddybuddy20

You'll likely find better deals for the QC35 once the new 700 model is released

zchari5

Even if the performance was exactly the same as these it will bring the price of these down hence why I stand by my original comment

fahed2000

Says the psychic

Naqvi

The 700 won't be a match for the sony's sound quality wise and noise cancelling.

It clearly states that this price is achievable with 100 trade in discount. Nothing is confusing.

Yeah but that is confusing as it assumes someone has a phone to be traded in, so deal price should not really be 569 imo.

Shin555

Yeah, I always thought they were relatively well made until I looked inside and saw what broke. Will see what happens with mine, but useful to know that I can go to Argos and try my luck there too, so thanks for that.

Swidc

I just went to the Argos branch and told them, they checked in the computer for 2 mins and told me ok do you want the same, money back or a voucher? It was easy and didn't even check too much, I had the case and charging cable at home and they refused to take them so win-win. They are aware of this problem and they probably charge it to AKG at the end of the day. Shame cause the sound quality is so good for the price but that piece of plastic is so fragile ...

Shin555

Ah, man, I never even thought about contacting Argos. Would they have offered a swap, or did you just want the refund? Mine are with the Service Centre now, the worst case scenario is the feeling I have that they may want to charge me for User Damage. They just fell apart picking them up though. I have JB Weld on hand should anything happen. It was my first thought before I found out they came with 2 year guarantee.

Swidc

I got mine like May18 and had the same issue as you in Jun/July. Argos paid the whole thing back.

kevyn

These sound great and come with a 2 year warranty. The only letdown is the microphone quality which I doubt will bother most people

senor_eggnogs

Owned x3 and x2. Those on the fence waiting for an x3 deal, the wait will certainly be worth it. The sound quality and the noise cancelling is miles better in x3 compared to x2. Please have a look at Sony refurbished... X3 normally sells for 189 on there.

Was that speaker £60? I never found an English listing for it, but it came up as 89 dollars on the Canadian site. Was a nice bonus. Really liking my headphones I got.
