It's because, while Amazon consistently provide great customer-service, they hire imbeciles to write the product descriptions and baboons to deliver the products.

You simply cannot rely on their descriptions. Check the maker's site before buying.

I owned these - OK in the office but not very good at Noise Cancelling when travelling on tube. I also purchased QC25 a short while later and those were much better on the tube and a bit better in the office. Partly because the ANC is probably better but also because the QC25 cover your ear much better (over-ear as opposed to on-ear ?).

AKG are shutting down their Austrian manufacturing plan and moving to China, so probably why these are so cheap.
I've recently contacted AKG to try and get a pair of bluetooth headphones repaired under warranty. Surprisingly, their customer service has been appalling. I would have been tempted by these as a replacement (as I'm generally happy with the audio quality of the AKG headphones that I own), but given the comments on build quality, I'm now leaving these well alone as I am pretty confident that AKG would not fix under warranty.

I've owned a couple of these and they're very good at this price, however …I've owned a couple of these and they're very good at this price, however will echo a few things mentioned above and add some:1. semi-open - leak sound but result in a wider soundstage. wouldn't use these outdoors at all.2. not for bass heads - they're not 'fun' headphones. great mids, okay high-end, but the low end is lacking. even if you're looking for a monitoring pair, these have a bump at around 100hz that ends up obscuring sub bass range. however, you'd have to pay significantly more money to do better.3. low-impedance, but quite inefficient - makes them harder to drive than they should be, so if you like your music deafeningly loud, you'll need an amp/a source that provides good power.4. the plastic ring around you see around the gold bit on the outside may crack - both of mine ended up with hair line cracks and i baby my headphones. at some point AKG either changed their plastics, or the way they make their pads - the pressure from the pads adds up over time and in the worst case, may split that plastic. hairline cracks do not affect sound, but if the ring splits you will probably have to replace the headphones - getting a replacement part isn't really worth it.despite all this, the price is very good and it's worth having one of these if you're into your headphones, or are just looking for a good pair to use at home.edit: also, if anyone's wondering, these are functionally identical to the k240 mkii's. the mkii's just come with a set of velour pads, a curly cable and a different colour scheme. wouldn't recommend paying the extra, just stick with these.

Expired, gone up to £89.99, got a bargain at £64.99 with the £5 off voucher!
just ordered these today through a cashback site that had £2.50 bonus till Monday. only had to spend £5 to get that but these headphones look best bang for the buck. shame i just bought some Sony MDR-XB650BT Extra Bass last week for £40 but quite happy with those but bass is a little bit too much for my taste sometimes.
Argos had a £5 voucher off a £50 spend but it expired on 14th November. the day before this offer i think.
unlike the Sony ones i have these have a socket for a wired connection too. My Matrix2 AF62 headphones had one too but they didn't work on my HiFi systems and on my PC the sound was more in one side than the other. see if i get any luck with these AKGs. i had some wired AKG K430 once but i sold them on ebay. if i recall they did look a bit cheap.
speakers in these headphones 40mm? should be better than the 30 in my Sonys.
the USB charger socket on my Matrix2 AF62s is damaged thats why i bought some new headphones. maybe they can be repaired. but they still can be used wired so worth keeping.
HOT!! cheapest I've seen were at £90 from amazon.
Bought these on Saturday and have given them a good testing with some very different music styles.
At the price they are a steal, excellent sound almost comparable to my wired PSB M42 headphones which cost 4 times as much.

Just had mine delivered. I think they are Y50BT's in all but name.

But I'm going to return them. I wanted to replace my K451's for something wireless that I can use in the gym, but the C50BT's don't sound anywhere near as good as my K451's. Far too laid back, much quiter, less punchy bass and they don't grip my head as much as the 451's, and they are in no way tight.

Shame really, I was looking forward to listening to these.
My first pair of these broke after two days - the pivot on the right headphone separated and it would fall off the pivot pin.

Just got them replaced by Argos, but take care as that seems like a weak point in the design.

It is difficult buying online, sound is a personal choice, one person's bass overload/thumping headache is another persons perfect sound choice, when we used to actually try stuff first you made your own decision. At least with amazon you can return it.
I rather like the AKG K92's, although still running in, they are comfortable, I like the sound, although funnily enough I prefer to up the bass when walking and level it when at home, I tend to listen to my music without adjusting equalisers when I am at home. I have never had expensive headphones, the K92's replaced a pair of phillips which a. made me look like a cyberman and b. the ear cuffs had worn away in places. I prefer the sound of the K92's as I would say the mid range and voices are better and I seem to get less sibilance, yet similar if slightly deeper and more pronounced bass.

First question would be. Closed or open backed?
