Still think this is overpriced as it's quite long in the tooth now! I got the newest 46mm 2018 version for £199 :) but that's cause Samsung gave me a on off £100 discount code for complaining to them.

It's got most of what you'll need, and looks like a proper watch. Every lard arse at my gym has an apple watch. If you can stretch to it, go for the 46mm galaxy watch. The battery life is brilliant. Other than that, this is a good deal too

I picked mine up today and wasn't asked for my trade in :D It does have samsung pay though only certain uk banks use it at the moment The tsb annoyingly isn't one of them yet but fantastic watch awesome price with the code and great free headphones so all in all can't complain (y)

So if I want Samsung pay, only the EU versions support this? Thanks, i was not aware of this.

AKG C50BT On - Ear Wireless Headphones £59.99 @ Argos
Found 11th SepFound 11th Sep
A re-badged model of the Y50BT. Rated best headphones under £100 on many websites. For example: https://www.t3.com/features/best-headphones-under-100 https://www.wired.co.uk/a… Read more

These are disappointing, I've had 2 pairs break in the same place, the hinge that holds the ear cup to the headband, one after a few days and one after a few months, never again

Not this again. The fact they are so highly rated makes me doubt in all the websites that have reviewed them. Especially when you consider the were reviewed at much higher price. They're a great set for £60 but the sound quality is disappointing for anything over £100. That's the price you pay for wireless.

yeah they are pretty tight and i had to return mine after the hinge broke on the ear cup after a few weeks use.

They hurt my ears! Good sound quality but already posted loads of times...

A great pair of headphones. Good bass and treble. Battery will last a long time also. A little tight though but well built and heavy. A very good pair of headphones at this price.

This is a fantastic price for these headphones. I paid £99 and I thought they were a bargain then. Voted hot

I've had the wired version of these for about 2 years. They nice and compact, but as others have said can get uncomfortable after very long periods of use. They offer a nice balanced sound but sound can leak a little. I would still recommend them, especially for this price.

I've had mine for over 2 years, they're well built and are quite comfortable from my experience (daily wear). However, the padding is coming out, I'll superglue it back but thought I'd make potential buyers aware of what could happen: Heat added!

Had Y50BT for a several months, paid 99 from richer sounds. Love the sound quality and battery life is immense. They're hard wearing too, I've scraped them against things several times and the headphones are still flawless condition. Negatives are they are uncomfortable after a while and give me a headache (never had this problem with any other on ear headphones) and there's an annoying recurring beep when the battery goes low (but still hours of use left). Oh and the power button location causes the headphones to turn on when folded for storage in the supplied fabric case. That said.. can't go wrong at this price.

I agree, why would anyone do that? You have completely missed the main point I made which is about the AKG C50BT's disappointing sound quality when listing to music . It's as simple as that, nothing else!

why would anyone walk around with full size cans, and more importantly, want to compare them to portable cans, wireless, or driven via wire from most likely a phone dac/amp? It's like comparing apples to oranges when what you really want is a pear, seems a bit daft

I agree that's why I mainly use Sennheiser HD 580 and HD 600 for most of my music. I simply wanted to have the convenience of a cordless set for occasional use in bed were leads can become damaged. I expected a significant drop in sound quality in view of their price however, from a reputable brand such as AKG who also make excellent microphones, I didn't expect them to sound so musically poor expecially with the original selling price in mind and more importantly in comparison the similarly price product, Sennheiser HD 579. I urge anyone to demo and compare the now reduced Sennheiser 579 headphones against the AKG C50BT. Argos last sold them much cheaper than the C50BTs. I'm sure the majority will be amazed and much, much happier if sound quality is important. There are some great sounding £60 headphones that sound very detailed, open and musical, unfortunately the C50BT isn't one of them. Don't take my word for it folks, find a dealer that will demo them for you.

tbf if sound quality is your over riding concern, you won't be looking at 60 quid headphones

yep, reviewed by what hifi, admittedly in 2016 as best wireless headphones under 200 quid

I previously owned a pair of Austrian K702's though I slightly prefer the aesthetics of the K701 as they look more unique. I've not had the opportunity to compare the two but I've read comments that the sound signatures are subtly different, that's entirely possible but it's more like due to production tolerances or minor component revisions over the past 12 years.

I have those, they're great. Begs the question, why spend more on this pair?

Hot! Would've bought if I hadn't bought a Beyerdynamic open-back only last year.

The time it takes for delivery, I'm guessing some poor Chinese bloke has to swim the whole way from China to the UK with one of those Deliveroo boxes full of OEM/generic/unbranded/fake gear on his back. How is that adding to pollution?

Because if they are rubbish then you have wasted 65p and added to the pollution by having it delivered from China and you will probably throw them in the bin for landfill.

Mine sat on a desk for 4 months and died. Right side packed in for no reason and it's happened to lots of other people. Never taken them out of the house and not used them for more than 3 hours. £36.99 price paid was poor value and I couldn't return them as I live in Asia for extended periods of time. They died alone in my empty house in England... Perhaps I'm just unlucky. But I can't recommend these headphones.

Completely disagree! You have been simply unlucky with your pair. Is this testimony to build quality though? I would certainly say so! If they all build to same standard, they should not fail easily. Mine still work after 12 months and they do not have light or occasional use... they often sat in a back pack without any additional protection which means cable bending, especially at the base of the ear muffs. Why are the headphones rated so highly? Well, best music reproduction quality vs price would be good starting point! At this price, HOT! Highly recommended!

One for the office, one for home office and now a pair for general use. And as insurance in case a pair dies.

Go for it but its your funeral, this is a total load of rubbish, its idiocy to try this and expect to get away with it but if your that convinced then go for it and try it on with them, you wont get what you want i double guarantee it....and even if you do get anywhere with it they will block the handset for none payment....its a no win scenario!

EDIT: I haven't checked the deal because I don't need a phone, I've gone off the details in the op's post, but my detail is correct, if this is a 12 PHONE CONTACT, if you cancel, you return the equipment too, otherwise, read on... On a normal 12/24 month contract yes, but on a SIM ONLY deal, where carphone discount a SIM FREE handset that you buy AT THE SAME TIME, this doesn't mean they are connected so you CAN cancel the sim only and keep the phone As for black marks on your credit file, that happens when you miss payments, if you cancel your direct debit and O2 (or any other company) screws up and tries to take a bill that goes against you even if it isn't your fault I left my direct debit in place and simply got it refunded once they fixed their error, and if you can't afford a months direct debit to go out in error, don't spend £400 on a phone using a bit of a loop hole just because the deal is good

Took me 18 months to get them to delete the record when they did it to me for a similar deal. Had to get the financial ombudsman involved before they budged on their mistake

A bargain at this price. Good build quality as far as I’m concerned and musically I think they are pretty good. ANC not up to Bose standards but decent nonetheless. They also fold up small and so are relatively portable compared with some of the larger ‘phones out there.

Ah right sorry, my bad.

For 50 quid these are a bargain, would snap them up if you can find any

I would have to disagree. The only pairs I have found better or on equal par at that price are JBL’s. I would agree they are not worth their price on release date of £229. However they are a sure buy at £49.97. I have also never had an issue with AKG previously when using the 3 year warranty also.

Sorry just seen your comment. These are the wired version not the Bluetooth version. They are down from £179.99 in Curry’s to £49.97. Hope that helps.

I had these for one evening, returned them the next day. I'm a AKG fan but these were not worth the money for me. The sound was average, the base - weak (considering the size) Sound leak - big issue - I was listening to an audio book (so not loud music) and my wife could hear it clear from ~30 cm away. It might be the thing for you but thought I'll point out my experience. To consider if you want to use them at the gym - they are heavy and your years will get really hot. I'm super happy with my Jabra Move , much smaller and lighter, good battery, decent sound and much better base than these.

Any thoughts on these and the over ear Sony XB950B1, Argos have then on for 89£? What Hifi rate the Y50BTs over the XB650s, which is the direct competitor as its also on ear. I do enjoy extra bass but it doesn't need to be head thumping load.

The same thing happened to me twice. They come with A 12 month guarantee they'll replace them for you hassle free

To be honest there must have been a bad batch. I bought a set in April that fell apart within the first week. Replaced immediately in Argos no questions asked. Same thing happened again 2 weeks later! Replaced a second time and not a problem since (2 months later). The benefits of a 12 month guarantee emailed to you 😏

I have purchased some from.zapals simply because on podcasts the sound quality doesn't really matter. Never used the originals I've got with my s8. couldn't face it if I lost them whereas if the fakes fail or get lost its only a pound.

I had the Samsung S8's and S8+'s earphones last year but don't remember much how they sounded. Just over a month ago purchased these directly from Amazon they looked real and sound I thought was original as well but then I again I returned them as I had better sounding headphones. Less than a week ago I purchased S9+ 256GB model and tested the earphones again and wow. Clearly a difference between the one's which come in the box and the one's which are being sold seperately.

The word genuine is the key one- it means it works with the Samsung phone. What you need to look out for its the work original in a description. This is more of a sign of someone claiming it is the real thing. At least that is how Ebay uses those terms. Based on your description these are the same as the Zapal fakes which can be got for under £1.

The s8 and s9 are the same ones

These are the ones that came with the s8, I see your confusion :p
