The time it takes for delivery, I'm guessing some poor Chinese bloke has to swim the whole way from China to the UK with one of those Deliveroo boxes full of OEM/generic/unbranded/fake gear on his back. How is that adding to pollution?

mackem1966

lol

B1GG1ESMALLS

lol

crumpetman

Because if they are rubbish then you have wasted 65p and added to the pollution by having it delivered from China and you will probably throw them in the bin for landfill.

They arrived today, so much for ‘as new’ missing tips and badly packaged....the usual lottery when buying from Amazon warehouse....returned (devil)

cheaperbythe12

Decided on risking it on a pair of 'good' condition for 150ish. Earphones themselves haven't had use and same with the extra buds etc but I'm just missing the airplane adapter of which I have a few anyway. Totalt bargain so thanks op.

marcusholden90

Great deal thanks OP my Shure 535’s have just died on my. Great headphones

I always find that wired in ear headphones always transfer the noise of the cable moving whilst I walk, run or move etc. thats why I love my Air Pods. Do these not have the same problem?

Mine sat on a desk for 4 months and died. Right side packed in for no reason and it's happened to lots of other people. Never taken them out of the house and not used them for more than 3 hours. £36.99 price paid was poor value and I couldn't return them as I live in Asia for extended periods of time. They died alone in my empty house in England... Perhaps I'm just unlucky. But I can't recommend these headphones.

Lestat69

Completely disagree! You have been simply unlucky with your pair. Is this testimony to build quality though? I would certainly say so! If they all build to same standard, they should not fail easily. Mine still work after 12 months and they do not have light or occasional use... they often sat in a back pack without any additional protection which means cable bending, especially at the base of the ear muffs. Why are the headphones rated so highly? Well, best music reproduction quality vs price would be good starting point! At this price, HOT! Highly recommended!

One for the office, one for home office and now a pair for general use. And as insurance in case a pair dies.

Edited my long post and deleted my other post afterwards, there's nothing to suggest the sim is SIM only with a SIM free phone, I'm with you on this one (y)

philjstephenson

Go for it but its your funeral, this is a total load of rubbish, its idiocy to try this and expect to get away with it but if your that convinced then go for it and try it on with them, you wont get what you want i double guarantee it....and even if you do get anywhere with it they will block the handset for none payment....its a no win scenario!

rnr81

EDIT: I haven't checked the deal because I don't need a phone, I've gone off the details in the op's post, but my detail is correct, if this is a 12 PHONE CONTACT, if you cancel, you return the equipment too, otherwise, read on... On a normal 12/24 month contract yes, but on a SIM ONLY deal, where carphone discount a SIM FREE handset that you buy AT THE SAME TIME, this doesn't mean they are connected so you CAN cancel the sim only and keep the phone As for black marks on your credit file, that happens when you miss payments, if you cancel your direct debit and O2 (or any other company) screws up and tries to take a bill that goes against you even if it isn't your fault I left my direct debit in place and simply got it refunded once they fixed their error, and if you can't afford a months direct debit to go out in error, don't spend £400 on a phone using a bit of a loop hole just because the deal is good

Balderdashed

A bargain at this price. Good build quality as far as I’m concerned and musically I think they are pretty good. ANC not up to Bose standards but decent nonetheless. They also fold up small and so are relatively portable compared with some of the larger ‘phones out there.

Dcontrol

Ah right sorry, my bad.

AlSloanes

For 50 quid these are a bargain, would snap them up if you can find any

swannyofficial

I would have to disagree. The only pairs I have found better or on equal par at that price are JBL’s. I would agree they are not worth their price on release date of £229. However they are a sure buy at £49.97. I have also never had an issue with AKG previously when using the 3 year warranty also.

swannyofficial

Sorry just seen your comment. These are the wired version not the Bluetooth version. They are down from £179.99 in Curry’s to £49.97. Hope that helps.

To be honest there must have been a bad batch. I bought a set in April that fell apart within the first week. Replaced immediately in Argos no questions asked. Some people just think that because you pay more that it's by default better. You'd think that these people wouldn't find themselves on websites such as this. Seems the antithesis of the entire point of the website.

I have purchased some from.zapals simply because on podcasts the sound quality doesn't really matter. Never used the originals I've got with my s8. couldn't face it if I lost them whereas if the fakes fail or get lost its only a pound.

Nightmare101

I had the Samsung S8's and S8+'s earphones last year but don't remember much how they sounded. Just over a month ago purchased these directly from Amazon they looked real and sound I thought was original as well but then I again I returned them as I had better sounding headphones. Less than a week ago I purchased S9+ 256GB model and tested the earphones again and wow. Clearly a difference between the one's which come in the box and the one's which are being sold seperately.

Cheapasnowt

The word genuine is the key one- it means it works with the Samsung phone. What you need to look out for its the work original in a description. This is more of a sign of someone claiming it is the real thing. At least that is how Ebay uses those terms. Based on your description these are the same as the Zapal fakes which can be got for under £1.

The s8 and s9 are the same ones

Its already rooted and running the original nougat touchwiz/samsung experience software, simply because it looks good. Custom roms tend to have terrible interfaces with, like, 1" gaps between apps on the homescreen. But if a custom rom had integrated app linking then I would probably go for that.

majorwedgy84

Using custom rom you will gain a lot of space due to loss of boatware and up in Android version to boot

mickrick

Yeah, unfortunately its only 16gb and nothing I try will allow me to link the sd card, a 64gb class 10 (might be a faster one). So its forever running out of app space and can't even update existing apps. I've uninstalled as many as I can do without and still no good. System apps hog most of the space.

majorwedgy84

Install custom rom on your Samsung it is a much better tablet

PressPlay

Not sure I can take a review seriously from a middle age man with an anime chick as his wallpaper.

enfluence1

Well, I personally use audioengine A5+ speakers so the audio engine d1 Dac was best for me as it has a headjack port on it as well, one of the very few that have both. If your just after one for just the headset id definitely recommend the audioengine d3.

Mine split too. (After 2yrs +). Paid £30 for new ones directly from AKG. Bit pricey. Great headphones though.

CABellamy

The same thing happened to me, I just found some replacements on amazon for a tenner. Wish I knew about the warranty as mine are still within it. I might try my luck with them to get a free spare set out of them. They are a 3 part pad (a bit that fits onto the speaker, a sponge and then an outside but that touches your ears) just glued together so even with careful usage this is bound to split eventually. They are easy to replace though, just slide the old ones off and slide the new ones on. A bit fiddly but easy enough job.

Just a note: I've had a few pairs of AKG's and sound quality has be amazing on all I've owned.. But some of the components do fracture easily on normal usage. (I have a desk job and never take them out). When they have started to degrade, AKG customer services have been outstanding. I purchased from Amazon, and yet outside the guarantee they replaced the item after providing evidence I'd broken up the old set.... For that reason I will always stay with this Brand (and the fact the sound is great).

Deal_guy

Amazon are doing a lightning deal (£50.9 instead of £59) today on the Taotronics noise cancelling headphones BT22 if anyone is interested. Decent reviews too.

creamycaptainjack

Mine just broke !!! Great headphones thank god they are guaranteed

BattleCat

I agree. The latency is a deal breaker for me. I can delay the audio offset in some apps but youtube and Netflix is out of sync. The sound signature is bass heavy as you said, which I quite like to be fair. I guess that's subjective, but I'm annoyed about the latency enough to return them. Shame, otherwise a great deal
