Have a pair myself, have owned lots of headphones over the years but don't rate these. They're very uncomfortable and the sound is nothing to shout about.

Are they the same as these? https://www.amazon.co.uk/AKG-UE-Closed-Back-DJ-Headphones/dp/B00Y2I962O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523524148&sr=8-1&keywords=AKG+K181 32.99 but OOS - available to order though,

They were Sony ones I had the problem with!. It was the shape/size of the headphone in my case that was the issue. This is fixed and cannot be changed. There were silicone pieces also but these made no difference as the main piece was just ‘too big’. No one else wanted them either as they wouldn’t fit in their ears!

Stop buying cruddy ones, all in ear ones ive purchased (sony/sennheisers) have 3 sets of silicone pieces to accommodate different ear sizes, goes for the cheap xiaomi ones that get posted on here (i believe) aswell,

Yes. I found the same with other makes also. Completely useless due to their large size. And quite often you don’t find this out until you gave opened the sealed packaging (are out of the shop) so you can’t take them back either!. Maybe they are not for purpose...however I guess they must fit someone so you probably can’t go down that road either!. So frustrating. I’m sure manufacturers are aware of this but you have given them your money by then & it’s too late!

Buy yourself and you will have a proof.

Bought these from hmv at 3.99, they are massive, won’t fit in my ears or any of my family so binned them. would be ok if you had a set of rugby players ears..

Bought for my daily guitar practice. Hope they re better than my Jabra.

1. I use them on my computer fornthe majority of the time and also for my hifi. I hadn't actually noticed they were too quiet - although I have been using them for so long maybe I am used to it. 2. They certainly will leak more than closed back. I use them in my office though at home so don't have any one to confirm how loud exactly :/ 3. I find them very comfy, using them for hours at a time, even when I have to don my glasses. I do have to remove them every so often as they get rather warm from body heat.

I have recently been looking at the k240 mk2s which I think are similar to the studios. I like the neutral respone but have some questions, if you will indulge? 1/ I want to use them for mainly listening to my mini hifi and my TV. Will I need a headphone amp because I have read they are quiet? 2/ Would these semi open ones leak more than on ear options? 3/ How comfortable are they? My Koss porta pros are really painful when I wear my specs? thanks

AKG C50BT On - Ear Wireless Headphones £59.99 @ ARGOS
Found 28th MarFound 28th Mar
These are same as the Y50BT version.

Thanks OP - got a pair yesterday. They seem pretty decent for the money. Not sure how robust they are, but quite good quality and decent enough sound quality with bluetooth/aptx from my phone. Now the question is will these last any longer than a nice pair or IEMs (before the cable breaks)! :{

I have a pair of audio technica m50 and jbird freedom 2, I was hoping these would slot in above the jbirds in quality but be more portable than the audio technica's. They are way too bass heavy at the expense of everything else, quite disappointing.

Bought these today, all I can say is they are absolutely amazing. Probably the best headphones I've ever had, the quality is excellent, the bluetooth connection great and the audio quality with the inbuilt microphone is impressive. I would absolutely recommend these, even my mates have gone out to buy a pair. Thanks OP X Voted HOT!

Thank you, but seems to be sorted now, just took a long time (8 hours) to fully charge.

Original had the K451 and then was given Beats headset for Christmas present by my Mrs. Not even 3 months and they fell apart. Then did some extensive research and bought the YB50BT two years ago for £120. Baring me having to get a free replacement due to the cushion on the headband frame falling apart (down to me using in the gym frequently), these headphones have been solid and the audio quality is on par with Beats. Cushion on headband has gone again (my fault as can't stop using in the gym) and the warranty has expired so have purchased again. Will keep the old ones for gym and use the new one for my work commute. Bargain of the century for as I am concerned (y)

What makes you think I haven't?

You're talking rubbish - all you need for DJ headphones is for them to be extremely loud so that when you are on stage and the speakers are so loud because there are two thousand people listening to you you can actually monitor your mix correctly in time with the source and not the speakers which are delayed and believe me I've been DJing round the world for 20 years Great Find OP - just what I need - the amount of times my phones have gone missing or I forgot them these are perfect ;)

No £20 headphones are DJ headphones.

Can't say 100% but I can't see why it wouldn't be in there. Other places have them with the bag as part of the package. Also the PDF on the Gear4Music site shows it there, so it's likely -

Returning these today; the sound is dreadful (at least on the pair I got). I wanted them for studio tracking, but they're so flabby and OTT in the bass that I couldn't stand them for more than a few minutes. I have some old AKG 240DFs that I use at the moment and the comparison is ridiculous. I know that the old DFs are in a different class, but the K92s are marketed as 'studio' phones, so they should be usable. These would be ok for a teenager listening to electronic music, but anything else they're no use for unless you literally don't care what your source sounds like. They were quite comfy though.

Great headphone, very neutral sound but beware bass lovers as the bottom end is very lacking

I find these lack bass over my AKG Y50. very comfortable though

They aren't bad for the money. Good long cable and screw on adaptor for bigger connection etc. They do need a good source to drive well though and I admit I prefer these for films and TV over music, but they've not had a huge amount of time to bed in since Christmas when I received them.

Really good deal. Bought them on black Friday deals and at this price I am thinking of getting a second pair for an emergency. Great audio quality.

I've had a pair of these or a different model if these are the same as the ones I used to have then they are really good I could not fault them but the best thing about them us I could wear them for hours and hours and they never hey once the last pairing had was off Amazon in a sale so when they broke the colour I had was OOS so they could only refund me as they were in a sale and I would have had to pay double for the same pair but a different colour which never played so I'm glad I've come across these in the hope they are the same model great sound and comfort if they are you won't be disappointed by these

wow, the most helpful comment ive seen on here, really went the extra step! Like!

I actually took them apart. The components are completely different to the genuine S8/AKG earphones. That's why they sound so bad. Not only is the manufacturing quality terrible but they've used really nasty/cheap components. Zapals fakes: Genuine design:

These are 100% fake - DO NOT BUY. Zapals will not refund you and neither do they respond to a PayPal dispute being raised. https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/33107681

Just dont

I ordered these last you they were up just before Christmas. Total waste of time. They look just like my original AKG ones but that's as far is it goes. Sound is terrible, the volume button part made them sound worse with each click and they lasted all of 2 minutes before one earpiece stopped working all together. Voting freezing cold from me.

It's because, while Amazon consistently provide great customer-service, they hire imbeciles to write the product descriptions and baboons to deliver the products. You simply cannot rely on their descriptions. Check the maker's site before buying.

Thanks for that, but why does it list Batteries 1 Lithium ion batteries required. in the Product details section? Genuine question.

only when you unplug the cable and then you won't be able to hear anything. The difference with the BT is that it stands for bluetooth so you can listen wire free.

I owned these - OK in the office but not very good at Noise Cancelling when travelling on tube. I also purchased QC25 a short while later and those were much better on the tube and a bit better in the office. Partly because the ANC is probably better but also because the QC25 cover your ear much better (over-ear as opposed to on-ear ?).

Ahh, sorry about the wrong link. The review I posted does mention the wired phones too, hence the confusion. I didn't realise there's a separate one.

Yeah, the link from leaston is for the wireless variant, but the wired version still got 5 stars here

Think the review linked to is the N60 Wireless version. These are the wired version I think. No mention of wireless or Bluetooth on the Richer Sounds page. Wireless ones are £199 at Richer.

The Bluedio V (Victory) Pro look pretty decent and are wireless but don't have noise cancelling for what it's worth. Thanks leaston - It's a name that's almost always available and good fun when playing first-person shooters when you're killed by 'Mr Squishy' :) seems to rile-up some people!

AKG are shutting down their Austrian manufacturing plan and moving to China, so probably why these are so cheap.

I've recently contacted AKG to try and get a pair of bluetooth headphones repaired under warranty. Surprisingly, their customer service has been appalling. I would have been tempted by these as a replacement (as I'm generally happy with the audio quality of the AKG headphones that I own), but given the comments on build quality, I'm now leaving these well alone as I am pretty confident that AKG would not fix under warranty.

You mean that you don't rate those 'honest and unbiased in return for a freebie', 5* reviews ???????????
