sorted by- It's a TN panel, famously poor compared to IPS
- It was selling in America at $180, so £220 is not a cheap offer
- It's only 1080p
Some good specs, and nearly tempted me, but when you look deeper you realize this price is about what it's worth and no more.
We dont live in the US or have US low tax prices or tax not included prices.
its 24 inches 1080 is perfect.
its a gaming monitor and its £220 find me a IPS 1ms 144hz monitor in that price range, let alone below £500, let alone near 500 without being junk WITH Freesync.
Heat OP, its a good price.
How about finding a deal on a Course about economics, specifically focussing on 1) UK VAT and how it is added to pretty much all Goods, 2) American Sales Tax, 3) Why only some States pay Tax at source, 4) Import Duty and finally 5) Common sense.
A) 1ms Vs 5ms is not even noticeable to MOST People
B) You can get a dell U2412M IPS monitor for £170 which has a much better screen and for £50 less I can live without the faster refresh rate.
It's a basic price, not a HOT UK DEAL like you seem to think it is
The point of this monitor is the 144hz refresh rate. To say that you can get a better 60hz IPS monitor for less money isn't really relevant, as it's missing 144hz. You've missed the point of what this monitor offers. (edited)
Where were you able to order it for £199.99?
Wow great joke.
I did use common sense, the price is average for the monitor it's not a bargain at all.
Your comment about freesync make me smirk, thanks.
It's horses for courses isn't it, if you are happy with an 8ms 60hz monitor then you aren't looking for a gaming monitor which this is.
and they were all dumb reasons that didn't consider that other people have different needs to your own. FailFish. just another plum on HUKD who thinks the only monitor that should be manufactured are IPS 60hz panels with higher response times because they are the only crap panels you use.
the only reason worth saying is that it is not that great a deal because it's not a low price for what you get. (edited)
Nvidia owner realising freesync doesn't work with there graphics card
Heat
Ok instead of coming back and starting an argument, there was clearly no need for your use of language here just offensive for no reason. But seems like you know what youre talking about, is this worth swapping for my IPS ultrasharp display?
Unfortunately there are no 144hz 1080p IPS monitors at all. Closest thing to IPS colours would be VA, of which there are many 144hz 1080p monitors. (edited)
WHERE!?
Yes... my AMD card is an NVIDIA one.. good one...
glad i can help
u made the right choice but whether or not it comes is another matter!
Then your comment about freesync makes no sense but if your happy thats all that matters.
How are you finding it? are you glad you ordered it? I also ordered one, should be coming in the next couple of days.
Hi, thanks you for the reply. Doesn't sound too promising. My other monitor actually broke the other day ( line of dead pixels on new Samsung curved 24") The Omen screen is due for delivery tomorrow. Will update over the weekend with my views.
How did you get on buddy? did you get the same issue on 1ms response time?
Hey, sorry for the delay. Amazon had a delay in sending it out so I only actually received it on Friday. Initial impressions are actually very good. I had a Samsung curved 24 inch before. I love how smooth this monitor is. I have no issues at all running on 1ms, no negative effect on picture. So happy for now.
