I strongly advise you don't go anywhere near Asda PAYG. Text messages not getting sent, with the automated reply "Network Error", having ample credit but an automated voice telling me "you have insufficient credit to make this call" made me get rid of them within days of receiving their sim. Awful service. In my experience using piggyback networks, Tesco and Asda, my advice is don't touch them.
You can still get 321 rates via three if you order a data reward sim and you can top up a minimum of £2. The catch is I don't think it will work in a smartphone because three states it's for tablets, dongles and mobile broadband devices. I don't have a smartphone to test this. I use mine in a non-smart blackberry and it works fine. I'm getting the 321 rate.
This is the pricelist - Mobile Broadband plans for customers who joined or upgraded on or after 1 October 2021 (look on page 7).
This is the link for the data reward sim.
Appears you can only get one with a mandatory £10 top up. Was free when I ordered a couple last summer.
Also many people complaining about 1p mobile not telling them they'd introduced a minimum £2.50 usage a month or that money is deducted from their credit. Plenty people peeved about this.
It’s not clear whether you can pay the £36 again and renew for another year
