I always thought about posting this deal, but never did because of the very popular 12GB offer.

It is not a bad deal by itself. If you don't need more than 5GB data and want to continue with it after 6 months, you will save £1 per month compared to 12GB offer. So, here it is for the information, if not for up votes

Any idea how you get it if you’re an existing Lebara customer?
    deleted2838666's avatar
Port to a free Asda sim which you don’t need to put credit on.
  2. woodface7's avatar
Don't forget, Lebara let you delay activation for up to 90 days. So if you get two (and don't mind changing numbers or dual-porting) you can have NINE months at 1p.

If you get lousy coverage from Lebara / Vodafone in your area, Lyca have almost the same deal using o2 masts.

how does that work? aren't the SIMs activated on dispatch?

For people whose email addresses are already registered with lebara: you can add +lebara (or any other word) to your existing email address (e.g. hotukdeals+lebara@gmail.com) and it will accept it as a new account. All emails sent to this address will be automatically diverted to your main account. More info here: Create task-specific email addresses (edited)

Guys through mse you can get the 12gb for 1p a month for 6 months and then 6.90 a month

It's a 30 day contract can cancel at anytime . The offer is for new customers I got for my daughter arrived next day . Best way to cancel is login to your online account and turn of auto renew if you not bothered about keeping the number

I saw it on the latest mse email if you don't receive the email it's brilliant go to money saving expert online and search for sim only deals should come up on their . Few other deals like this I think the 12gb is the biggest. Also think their was some Lyca deals as well
    deleted2838666's avatar
Yep most on here will have done it already as well at a penny it’s worth it and just change again in 6 months.
  5. deleted195889's avatar
I am a bit unsure. so we are able to cancel this after six months if we do not want to continue? only paying 6p in total?
    forcabarca's avatar

    Replying to

if you plan on just using it for 6months might as well get the 12GB one

I've had this sim (12 GB deal) for a few days now and tried it in 2 phones. So far ~2mb max download speed and that is when it is working well. Must be that Vodaphone isn't working in the area. My 3 sim gives 128/15 mb consistently. Seems that Lebara must only work in very restricted areas (I'm in Bedfordshire).

    It's just you, 4g speeds:

Just to confirm this isn't going to be taken as a direct debit iirc?

Looking for a cheap direct debit for the santander switch (edited)
    Khairul's avatar
Not Direct Debit. It's taken as recurring payment from your saved credit/debit card. (edited)

How do you get this as a customer? Can you port out and back in or is it simply too faffy?
    kopite79's avatar

    Replying to

I ported out to Asda on a Monday. Waited a day before requesting a port back to Lebara and it was all done by Wednesday.

Would this work ok in a Carlinkit android auto/carplay box?
I tried a sky sim in one last week & although it recognised it, it wouldnt actually download anything
    woodface7's avatar
I'd be prepared to risk a whole penny on that endeavour 🚗🔉

If they aren't paying me. I don't want it. Lebara get back in the boardroom. Come on you can do this
  11. Rimi's avatar
Why buy this with only 5GB of data, when you can have 12GB for same 1p on Lebara HERE.
    Rimi's avatar

C'mon...I have Lebara SIM from 2010, when CPW done them with free £10 credit and never paid in 12 years for them as there is offer codes all the time or if none of them works, I do "introduce a friend(myself) for free service.
Such thinking as OP mentioned earns Lebara money and that's how they play. I have better play and it rewards me with free service

I'm currently in France trying to run a Lebara sim from the MSE deal. Free calls and texts are making it worthwhile already but I can't get the data working. I've added an APN as part the Lebara site but still no joy... Any recommendations?
    bigbolam's avatar
You will have received a roaming text when you landed in France. within the text body is info about issues. Text INTERNET to 38885 and you'll received detailed instructions about setting up a working APN to use when abroad. There are two sets of instructions one for MMS and one for internet. You'll need to do both APNs. Follow the instructions exactly.
  13. hsduk101's avatar
I've signed up to them now. For everyone's info the voicemail note is Vodafones

For those who are unsure (I didn't activate my SIM till the end of August), my first 1p monthly payment just came off tonight.

You'll receive an email like this.

    Amount Charged: £0.01

£5.90 per month is the normal price so take the 12gb for six months then switch to this if you want to save a £1 month lol
    affy's avatar
True but then you lose 7gb data as well but your right with flexibility of 30 days contract you can change to whatever deal you like
  16. Bobajob69's avatar
Has anyone managed to get this (or the other cheap deals) on to an LTE smartphone (GW4)? EE want an extra £8 a month. I'm not worried about having the same number as my mobile, just want it so I can go running without a phone but still have cellular.
    x123's avatar

Only the main networks do esim, so onlyVodafone, o2, EE (and possibly Three if they have restarted supplying them) directly.

Got this when it was 12Gfor 99p (updated to 1p) for 6 months the other week. But this is still hot! Great service and easy to set up and cancel via the app. Use it for my son's phone!
  19. mutley1's avatar
so effectively I can try it out for free for 6 months, and if i don't like it, i can cancel it before it becomes £5.90pm?

Anyone knows how much they charge for "LOCAL CALLS & DATA" in USA (NYC) ? (edited)
    TristanDeCoonha's avatar
    It won't be local.
It will be a fixed rate for usa.
International rates can be found on their website

Q-1 How many minimum days window, do we need to opt out before the start of 7th month.
Q-2 what's the Procedure to opt out ( cancel) before the start of 7th month to avoid £6.90 ?
    Mr.Plow's avatar
You just turn off auto renew in the settings on your Lebara account so you could leave it right up to the day before if you wanted to.
48110836-KpEBP.jpgAbove screenshot is from my account on the website, they do have a nice looking app but I find it easier to use the website.
  22. firebird888's avatar
Thank you for posting, this works out cheaper over 12 months so it is still a valid deal - and might be useful for some of us here too! Keep the deals coming in!
    jnm21's avatar
The 12GB one then after 6 months us the magic link to move to 5GB for £4.95 is the best value. This was posted a few weeks ago. Sorry, my bad, it was 3GB for 1p, also the same price as 12GB & thus bad value, that was posted.

To change tariff (see threads below for caveats):

Those first six months seem a bit expensive. Any discount code for them?
    Khairul's avatar
Yes I've got one that gives 49% off.

Took out this deal last month, received email that it will renew at £6.90 on the 5th. Has anyone else received it.. hope they haven’t changed their mind!(:I
    h0m3brew3r's avatar
It's technically the "£6.90 plan" but still charges 1p per month. If not they are going to have serious cancellations
  27. darren_hooker's avatar
I can confirm that 1p has been taken out of my account yesterday by Lebara so even if your email says you're on a £6.90 tariff you should only pay the 1p
  28. RedXI's avatar
    Lebara do a great job.
  29. suhel_uddin's avatar
While lebara is great, there is an issue with calls & fair use policy. I've found calls Disconnect after 30mins & you have to dial again which is poor. They should really state that.
    bigbolam's avatar
I've undertaken loads of lengthy calls without any issue.

Be prepared to be sent their spam newsletters that you don't sign up for and then have unsubscribe links in that don't work. (Twice in three days now)

Does anyone know if these SIM cards work in Turkey please ?
    Rimi's avatar
You can, but will be charged and charged a lot. As free allowance available in EU only.
  32. Gunt's avatar
Why would anyone take this over the 12gb for 1p deal?
    LunarWolf333's avatar
Probably because of the 6-12months price.
  33. hearts's avatar
Do these have to be activated before I get charged? I have one of the previous deals but not activated yet. Just wondering if I have to cancel to stop the DD.
    TristanDeCoonha's avatar
You get charged your first month on purchase. It does not obligate you to activate.
You have 90 days to activate.
Once activated, you can block auto renew for 90 days but you will lose the deal price.
On day 91 you lose all credit and your number
  34. nm117's avatar
Right. I’ve just bought this. Not going to activate just yet.

I want to transfer my old number. Do I activate first then do that or port the number first?
    choudhary.ak's avatar
get pac code, activate lebara and port over online
  35. Bash786_Ali's avatar
How does one add two Sims. It appears I can only add one to my email address?
    Mr.Plow's avatar
Just order another, you have to be logged in to your account and it'll add the 2nd sim to the same account. (Think you can have max 4 Sims per account)
  36. didhar.ali's avatar
Hopefully their customer service is ok for when I want to bring my old number across
    baldybob's avatar
