I have the bigger one of these and after a week’s use the plastic bit below the steel burner melted a little which made the burner wobbly. And put me off using it. Whereas I’ve had my jetboil since 2004 (aye knoe, early adopter) and though the ignition no longer fires, it’s still my go-to wireless kettle when I’m wild camping etc. I’m a bargain hunter but this purchase didn’t seem a bargain in the end.

I had exactly the same thing to happen to mine. Utter crap.

Do these take a certain kind of gas cannister?
    tiredngrumpy's avatar
They use the commonly available screw type fitting. If you're looking at keeping things light and compact you can get the C100 type cannisters that will fit inside the nested stove bag if you arrange it correctly.

If you want economy, you can but adapters off amazon and then pretty much use whatever gas cannister you like.

The 1400 is the same price as well if you need larger.

I managed to get the newer jet boil 2.0 through go outdoors with a price match and BLC discount for £61, After just spending 5 nights away wild camping when compared to other alternatives that people had around me, I couldn't see past the jet boil in terms of speed, control and efficiency.

Albeit this loosk like a good deal none the less. (edited)

I got the Planet X 900 and used it recently on a trip to Oban and It was fantastic. Very handy and quick to boil water especially since there was a torrential thunderstorm outside for 3 days! Lifesaver. Can't recommend it enough, and at 22 pounds, that's too hard to pass up. Am considering the Planet X 1400 as well since it's on offer at the same price! Thanks to for the free delivery code!

Brilliant things but I'll stick with my alcohol stove!

Been interested in one of these types of devices for a while. For this price it was worth taking a punt. Thanks for the code too

Slightly smaller one 750ml with a Cafetiere press included, which can be left at home if not used. I've had it for about 3 years for the brew kit in the car, an excellent addition, tempted to get the larger one for when heating water for more than 2.

The images don't show it but the cup locks in place on the burner, similar to Jet boil. The extra bit allows you to use different pans.

Better to get 1400 as pot of 1400 says max 900 ml which is little funny

Brilliant, thanks. Been comparing the Jetboil Flash and Firemaple Polaris but I'll take a stab at this instead for ~£22!

Last year there was a recall on certain Jobsworth stoves, although I don't remember the exact model numbers.

There are a few companies which sell their own 'Jetboil style' stoves

Gas is expensive you are right considering the size and how cheap you can get the smaller stove cans

Have one in the back of the Bentley for making tea, works a treat , highly recommended. Not used one complete gas can yet , it’s quick and stable , love the click ignite which my original jetboil didn’t have

Looks like a bargain. Question, any ideas what the pot is made of? Titanium? Can't find anything in the description. Thanks
    vornstar13's avatar
I can't imagine it would be titanium at this price.

I used this from Go Outdoors but note, it won’t fit into the Planet X 900 if you’re wanting to pack it altogether (edited)

So this one is safe to use? Is it for the drinks or making food too

I used the free delivery code for Saturday delivery and it turned up an hour ago.
Any recommendations for the adapters to other gas canisters?
  20. BustyB293's avatar
The gas is a price rip off for these (c300), considering a C250 gas is not a massive amount smaller we are being ripped

These won’t work on the Planet X right? The screw valve thing is different
