Stay safe and illuminated when cycling after dark or in low light with the Varia Rearview Radar Bike Light from Garmin. Keeping you safe in more ways than one, this light has a 140-metre range and will let you know if any vehicles are coming behind you. It’s designed to be paired up with your Garmin Edge bike computerwhich will then give you visual, audible and vibration notifications to keep you informed. Finally, the unit’s adjustable rear beam makes sure you are visible from up to 1 mile away.

The Garmin Varia smartphone app provides sound and vibration alerts, plus bold graphics to inform you of the speed and position of any vehicles that are approaching.

Just bought one from wiggle at same price. They are an awesome bit of kit as a lot of my cycling buddy’s have them.

Got to say though I’m not convinced by the mount being held on by a rubber band. (edited)

Here are the photos as promised. I haven't charged or turned on the light yet. Just thought I'd fit it first and make sure the mount was compatible before I did this.

They have restocked/reallocated now - it said 2 left when I bought one last night but full stock now.

£130 for a gimmick light. Pass

The light is secondary to the rear radar which warns of cars approaching and even tells you if they are going fast so could save your life - so maybe not such a gimmick

Yes but wiggle is not allowed on here for some reason. I actually got mine from wiggle and wiggle and chain reaction are the same company as far as I know

I just can’t do it at this price when it was a tenner less the other day!
    Stupid me!

There's a good chance it'll be discounted again on Black Friday (if not before). It has been as low as £114.99 on Amazon. Halfords do occasionally discount it as well - although I think the lowest they've gone is £124.99 - but if you're a British Cycling member, you can get an additional 10% off - you could probably shave off a few more pennies by paying using Halfords gift cards purchased via a cashback website like Topcashback (currently 7% for Halfords). Every so often a good deal pops up on eBay - even better if eBay is running some sort of promotion at the same time.

Garmin finally has some competition with the Magene L508 and Bryton Gardia R300 - although the Gardia is still to be released and the Magene has limited availability - plus we haven't really had any solid reviews yet to compare them against the Varia in terms of accuracy/reliability etc. I think the Bryton Gardia looks the most promising of the two, in terms of both price and battery life - only time will tell if it delivers on its promises.
