there are 2 elements to the warranty

"See Manufacturer's warranty for specific coverage terms."

LG does not specify cover for screen burn. and only offer 5 yr warranty on G and Z model

    Costco state the below

This warranty is subject to the terms and conditions detailed in the paragraphs below. This however, does not affect your Statutory Rights provided by law in the United Kingdom.

    • Costco reserves the right to fulfil the warranty obligation through, at Costco's choosing, repair and/or replacement.
    • Repairs will be carried out by either the manufacturer, Service Power (which is a national service organisation) or another Service Centre approved by Costco.
    • A member not wishing for a replacement may be offered a cash refund of the price of the item identified as a replacement as an alternative.
    • This Warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, computer viruses, software, apps or any fault or defect caused by fire, lightning strike, water or sand ingress, neglect, misaligned or unsuitable aerial, inadequate internet connection/Wifi signal or cosmetic damage. In addition, any attempt to repair the product by non authorised personnel will invalidate the Warranty.
    • Consumable items are not covered under the Warranty. They include, but are not limited to; Batteries, Bulbs, Bags, SD Cards, Cables etc.

Again, nothing specific on burn in.
Both do not cover accidental damage so I would vote NO on burn in cover

A price adjustment request must be submitted within the promotional period with the item still in stock
    • For members other than resellers, only purchases made within 30 days prior to a request, and within the promotional period, will be eligible for a price adjustment.
    • Resellers must purchase items during the valid promotional dates in order to receive the promotional price. Limits apply.
    • Costco does not price match between online and warehouses. Products sold online may have different pricing than the same products sold at your local Costco warehouse due to shipping and handling fees charged for delivery.

    • Promotional voucher codes must be used during the advertised dates and cannot be claimed retrospectively.

If you qualify for a price adjustment please submit a Price Adjustment Form

    Edit: see reply below.

Awkward moment instead of excited - need some advice please folks. Bought this and set it up this evening. There appears to be some pretty bad banding across the full screen. This is a fault right? TV needs to go back?

I looked on some forums last night and carried out a "manual pixel refresh" which took about 10 minutes. The lines seem to have disappeared altogether. Had no idea OLED panels needed time to bed in! Will do some further testing today before rushing to return this.

Am I right to say that you need to remain a member for the whole 5 years to take advantage of the warranty? I think I read something in their terms about that.

I’m tempted to get it now but Currys, JL or other might beat it on Friday

costco warranty cover burn in? Tempted to go for this.

I could be wrong so do your own research, but I believe only JohnLewis do it with their accidental damage protection.

Oh right, LG do it as well but you need to buy a G2 for that. (edited)

Could somebody kindly offer a pointer to how the range is labelled? I've got the C9 myself but they seem to have expanded things since then.
    tickedon's avatar
Each one a different year model. C9 followed by CX the next year then C1 and then C2 this year. Also have CS this year, a mix of C2 tech but C1 panel from last year. So C2 is three years newer than your C9.

Range has expanded since too with A, B, C and G models as main options. Higher the letter, better the model (essentially).

I just purchased the 42” model from Richer Sound yesterday. I want to make a price beat claim so that they can refund me the difference. @sotv can you post a screenshot of the price showing on the Costco website (similar to the pic in your post but for the 42” model). Thanks in advance.

There you go, you'll have to let people know if Richer Sounds will let you claim against Costco prices

Heat from me, ordered to play games on my PS5 and watch Netflix/Disney+ in DV. First time with an OLED, quite excited to experience the picture quality at home...

Now the deals over, hoping there is some movement in price this week/end of the week.

I'll cancel my CS order and get C2. Happy either way tbh.
