sorted byThe router is awful. The WiFi reception is terrible around the house where it has always been fine with other networks.
Our devices constantly lose connection randomly.
Getting to speak with a real person if you have issues is pretty much impossible.
When I applied for their broadband, Virgin did a hard search which seriously reduced my credit score. This hard search is still on there now after several months.
I'm tied into a contract with them for 18 months and I'm tempted to terminate my contract and pay the early exit fee rather than put up with this for another 13 months.
If anybody is considering going with Virgin, make sure they are not going to send you a Hub 4 or below or you will have the same issues as us (edited)
My current router is the TP Link ax1800 which has been amazing for the last year I've had it
I'd typically expect Virgin to be more reliable than Vodafone, which would people recommend?
(This Virgin deal is 18 month whereas the Vodafone is 24 month so would obviously be getting a better price for longer with Vodafone) but not sure on reliability as I've always been with BT (edited)
Could do without the hassle.
If it’s the first time your property is subscribing to cable TV/Internet then they might need to dig in a coax cable. They’re pretty good at minimising disruption with a narrow trench and running the cable above ground along walls where possible.
Over the next 5 years Virgin plan to upgrade all their customers to full fibre so they can compete with the other fibre to the home companies. So whatever the situation right now, if you stay with Virgin they’ll eventually want to dig up the old coax cable to replace it with a fibre optic one.
Hey, could you explain

Thanks. (edited)
Obviously they want to keep you, which is why they do it. Personally I would rather keep the two separate, but thats my choice (and after being with VM and its predecessors for more than twenty years). (edited)
Virgin couldn't give a s--t about it, all they said was prove it. I hadn't taken any screenshots at the time, so they weren't interested. I almost gave up, but contacted MSE about it (as it was through them). They confirmed via their deals team that I had been incorrectly charged and they even chased Virgin on my behalf. A week or so later MSE got back to me and apologised (even though it wasn't their fault) and advised me that the £35 would be paid back into my virgin account before my next bill - and it was.
Virgin had the cheek to send me an email saying they were glad they could help me! The questionnaire they also sent, I returned in which I educated them on customer care and told them I will go out of my way to leave them at renewal time.
I would rather pay more than renew with them.
After I transferred to them I remembered why I left them a number of years before - their poor customer care or even interest in customers once you're signed up.
End of rant..... Breathe. (edited)
I have been conned where I didn’t sign a contract. Now I’m stuck with them for a while. Time to go to fibre community or BT fibre. I remembered renewing my contact for 12 months. When I tried to end the contract recently cos a big price hike they said I have signed a 18 months contract which was bill shit. Ripping people off who has been loyal customers for donkey years.
If you can get QuickStart, opt for this as people who opted for this did receive Hub 4 via the delivery service.
Thanks

I do not have email with account number yet. When it will be set?
Any idea at what point I can postpone the installation date?
is this only for new customers?
once you order your virgin media services, you will need to let them activate for you to activate the VOLT benefits in your my O2. My VOLT benefits took about a week to activate
