I know a lot of people will say there is no EU roaming. Simply add the ‘Roam Abroad Pass’ for an extra £10/month only when you need it and you will get EU countries AND USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. Other networks providing free roaming doesn’t include these extra countries. Simply cancel the pass when you are back.
Plus EE gives 50GB of fair use on roaming, while Vodafone and O2 has a 25GB limit, Three has a 12GB limit.

Right - as I seem to have managed to get hit by every single problem, just want to give you all that I've found out this afternoon

    1. BT Broadband Customers only
I am not a BT Broadband customer and I have successfully placed order, all confirmed and SIM will be with me on Monday. There were no checks whilst I was on the phone. The double data (100GB) is also confirmed.

    2. Where to add the Discount code
Look at the bottom of the screen where you choose your additional benefit, AppleTV etc. It's hidden under "Voucher Code" which you need to expand.

    3. Discount code not accepted
Ensure all pop-up and add-blockers are disabled in your browser. My code was rejected a number of times until I disabled "AdBlock" and then launched a new browser session, code then accepted.

    4. You appear to already be an EE Customer
If you've ever been with EE before then there is a possibility your old account is causing this error. It doesn't just match on email address. so despite me using three different email addresses over three attempts, I kept on getting this same error. If you get this, you'll get an email with your "Basket ID" attached and a phone number to call - very friendly member of staff.

    5. Already an EE Customer (Continued)
Once you're through on the phone, the help team will need to manually create an account for you. They will use the email address attached to the "Basket ID" (above) so make sure you've got the basket exactly how you want it before you call them up. Takes about 5 minutes to manually create an account for you - they will then go through the rest of the process with you over the phone.

    6. CS said they would check that they are allowed to add two discount codes to the purchase (natural 10% and Student/Perk 20%) and within a minute came back and confirmed they could add both. So if you're told otherwise, just ask them to check again.
They also at this point confirmed the double data offer (100GB).

They will send you a weblink via a text message so you can approve a credit check and then subsequently add bank details.
You will need the following for credit check:
Month/Year - At your current address
Month/Year - You started with your current bank
Month/Year - You started your current job
Although by the time I got to me third one, they said "roughly" and I just answered 6 years and that was accepted.

    7. Confirmation of order and all done
My credit check went through fine - I was then on hold for about 5-10 minutes whilst the final process was completed. As I was chatting an email came through confirming my order (I will need to do a "forgotten password" I guess to get access to my new account).
I didn't do PAC code during the order process - apparently a quick call to 150 once you've activated your new SIM and they will sort the port.

They ask for a bt account number and broadband order number when they phone back.

Be informed, you're in contract for 24 months. price increases next year:

    EE Mobile: CPI (based on 12.6%) + 3.9% = 16.5%
    Drooler's avatar
    This^

£12 plus 16.5% this April coming (based on 12.6% plus 3.9% would be £13.98)

Following April based on the same would be £16.29

So over the two years (roughly speaking)

    £12 for dec'22-mar'23 is £48
    £13.98 for a year is £167.76
    £16.29 apr'24 to nov'24 is £130.32

So overall contract £343.08 equivalent of £14.30pm

Bit of rounding in there but you get the gist, it's not pennies difference over 2 years.

Anyone else had an issue where both discounts are showing but the double allowance isn’t?
If you have the same did you get it resolved?
    sproutyrouty's avatar
For anyone who has this same issue, I started a live chat through the app and screenshot the email with the additional data, other than security questions they didn’t ask any and applied it for me straight away. It’s now showing 100gb in my account 💪🏼
  4. duncanb1973's avatar
Remember this increases by about 15% in April, thats another approx 2 pounds, and then again the following march so 13.5 ends up being nearly 18 pounds
    Richard_hud's avatar
Was going to say these deals are misrepresented at 24*monthly cost. Same for handsets. CPI+ inflation twice means ~ 10% higher over the contract.
  5. BargainHunta96's avatar
    "Superfast 5G" but isn't it capped to 100mbps ?
    C_H9p1's avatar
48818196-2i6UM.jpgLooks to me like you get full fat 5G, it's not capped.

Just in case this is useful for other people:

    Ordered last Friday (25th)
Only ever received a confirmation e-mail (with the order number)
Never received a dispatch e-mail or anything confirming the plan details
SIM arrived via RM either Fri/Sat this weekend (was away)

All now activated and up and running, price is correct in online account with both discounts applied correctly!
  7. freebiehunter's avatar
Just a heads up that if an existing EE customer it doesn’t seem to allow purchasing this online.. I’d logged in and got to the end of checkout and then it said as an existing customer please look at other deals (or words to that effect). Ended up having to phone EE - really helpful guy had trouble doing the same deal as the price and data deal was online only so he used a different plan, added data to it, added discounts and I ended up with 105gb for the £10.80 and to save posting a sim he just did it as an upgrade to my 10gb plan that was just out of contract. Happy days! (edited)
    JustToPost's avatar
What department did you call, upgrades? Did you mention anything about BT on this deal?
I talked to EE on the chat the other day and lady was super unhelpful, did nothing for me and basically as an existing customer said this wasn’t available.
Also, is the plan they gave you over the phone speed capped? (edited)

    No EU free roaming. Cold.
    alexma's avatar
    Author
It’s EE, if you need only eu roaming included, go to other MVNO or O2 which has been posted many times here.

With EE, you can also just add £10 for one month whenever you need to any EU country PLUS USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia or New Zealand. Simply switch it off when you are back. (edited)

hypothetically speaking, if a family member was a BT customer, would it be worth signing up using their details or is that likely to cause problems down the line?
    Wa55's avatar
Thought of doing this but then it would be on the family members account as another item on there. Meaning they would be the ones paying, of course you could set up a payment to them for that amount but its too much hassle and it wont be in your own name so I opted not to go that route
  12. Cameron583's avatar
I spoke to EE retentions about this, as 2 of my lines are up for renewal.

They wouldn't offer it to me as an existing EE customer, and could only offer me 40 GB for £15, inc discount.

Crazy, because I could have set up a new line with them, but instead went for the ID Mobile deal at £10 a month, 30 day rolling.

It is so weird how this is going through for some people, not for others. Some getting the double discount, others not.
Having read a couple of posts on this and the other EE thread about people being contacted - I was waiting for the inevitable.
I missed a call from a 01942 number yesterday - quick Google indicates it is a genuine EE number. However, no second attempt to call me, no attempts to call me today (I know they run CS 7 days a week) and no email.

10 minutes ago I noticed an email from EE - heart sinks. "Thanks for Registering with My EE - Please verify your email address".
Ran through that, specified my password and logged in.
100GB/Unlimited at £10.80 all listed in my account.

Guess there is still time for them to contact me and change it - reading that some people are being told they cannot use both codes but can use the 20% on its own. I guess £12/mnth isn't too bad, I'd probably accept that if they contacted me. Especially as you cannot get anywhere near that using the EE Front Page.

This may be a really silly question but has anyone got this to work and are not a BT customer?
    Stoofa's avatar
Yep - non-BT customer here. My SIM arrived today and I'm using it in my phone and I've kicked off the number transfer process.
However - lots of people indicating that they are now having problems getting both discounts applied.
I was forced to call them as their system was finding an old account and saying I was already a customer. So CS manually pushed the order through for me.
  17. BanglaBandit's avatar
When will this deal expire? I need to transfer my current EE number to PAYG first for me to use it on this deal

I’m guessing 5th December. But you can always sign up first, have the temporary number then PAC your existing number later when you are ready ee.co.uk/hel…-ee

I got the confirmation email last Sat but still haven't received my SIM - has anyone gotten theirs via Royal Mail? (edited)
    exStudent's avatar
I ordered last Friday for the other deal and the RM SIM arrived today in the post but I went in store and got a new SIM as the number was on the account already. Just had to show ID for them to be able to see my account and produce a new SIM on the spot. Really does depend I guess on who you get in-store.
  19. James_BOrJ's avatar
I got my order confirmation on 2 December saying “we will contact you when it’s on its way”. Haven’t heard anything since. Order tracking on the EE website doesn’t work and the customer service number in the email is not picking up - the recorded message says advisors are too busy processing orders. Even if it gets posted eventually, who knows when it actually arrives… what a shambles!
    TheNightKing's avatar
You could call this num - 0800 079 0539. Mine also same, waited for more than a week but not processed. Once I called they then picked did all credit search etc (it looks soft search from Equifax report) and processed it immediately with dispatch email shortly.
  20. Durzel's avatar
Managed to get this (I think) but not without being on the phone to EE for over an hour and a half (after placing the order online I received a text asking me to call them).

If you're an existing EE customer you are probably in for a world of pain. Or not, depending on who you speak to.

I used identical name, address & payment details for my new account as my existing EE account, the only thing that was different was my email address. Perhaps that caused issues. The lady I spoke to said it's not possible/allowed for an EE customer to have two accounts, but here we are.

One thing was clear though - this offer isn't available to existing customers, and it's a "BT offer" so they can't match it on the phone, apparently. That is unless you get to speak to someone who can do it, who knows.

I tried to get my existing contract discounted, because it's the same as this one albeit £22 a month, but no luck. In the end I could only get it as a new SIM, so I'll have to do the whole porting to PAYG and back again dance, but it's less than half of what I'm paying so I can live with that.

The lady I spoke to didn't mention or ask about anything relating to BT, BT Broadband or anything, even though this is an offer for BT Broadband customers only. (edited)
    Durzel's avatar
    I stand corrected.

This has ended up as a second plan in my existing account, but with a single "loyalty" discount of £3.50 a month, which takes the cost down to £11.50 instead of £10.80. Can't be bothered having another 90 minute phone call for the sake of 70p a month though.

Can anyone who is NOT a BT customer and has signed up for this just report in. I'm not that bothered about the double data, these prices are still far better than anything EE direct.
Just want to know if any non-BT customer has signed up and if it appears to have gone through OK?

This is a great deal considering EE are offering sim only BF deals that look great but are 6 months half price which I very nearly missed! Need an EE upgrade sim only asap 😩
  29. Stoofa's avatar
    Two quick questions:
    1. Do they confirm you are actually a BT customer?
    2. Anyone tried a Perks code rather than a Student one?

Been on PAYG for a month waiting for BF deals - only to see EE offering 6 months half price on a 2yr SIM - Yer, not doing that buddy boys.

Pac’d my number over from o2 yesterday and what a difference. No signal losses. Regularly getting 80-130 download speed (no 100 Mbps btw) with o2 I got 3-15 Mbps download if I was lucky (that was most places I travelled to as well as home area)Honestly would of paid double just to get a better service coverage than o2’s dreadful speed and coverage.
