Description
Product Description
Azul captures the beautiful aesthetics of Moorish art in a contemporary board game. Players compete as artisans decorating the walls of the Royal Palace of Evora. By carefully drafting the correct quantity and style of tiles, the most clever of artisans plan ahead to maximize the beauty of their work (not to mention their scores!) while ensuring they wasted no supplies in the process. Introduced by the Moors, “azulejos” (originally white and blue ceramic tiles) were fully embraced by the Portuguese, when their King Manuel I, on a visit to the Alhambra palace in Southern Spain, was mesmerized by the stunning beauty of the Moorish decorative tiles. The king, awestruck by the interior beauty of the Alhambra, immediately ordered that his own palace in Portugal be decorated with similar wall tiles.

I'd be wary of amazons version of this, i ordered one last year and it came like a pizza box, turned out to be a fake.

Buy sealed from Amazon, and you'll be fine. I would never buy this through an unknown seller selling on Amazon, and they sometimes end up back in the warehouse, so I would avoid this.

How complicated would this be for a 7 nearly 8yo?

My daughter has been playing since that age. I’d say 7-8 is probably the youngest on the scale but definitely doable. Might just need some help with the scoring at the end of each round. She’s 10 now and usually beats the adults!! Best board game in our collection.

This game is awesome. The pieces are tactile and great to play with and the strategy is a great mix of player interaction and building your own mosaic - highly recommend, definitely great for a few games over Christmas

Should we be concerned about an open box of a board game?

Could be bits missing, damage, who knows?

I'd say given they had 13 copies still earlier they're likely to be new, I'm not sure what the deal with them is going to be though, I guess we'll see

Fantastic game. The latest variant is an improvement on this which is the original imho.

Great game. I've had some horror shows with used board games from Amazon. Bits missing etc. It's £29.69 atm new at Zatu, always had good service from them.

Yeah likewise. I personally haven't purchased this deal in case of that but not overly eager to get it anyway. It was incase people wanted this and a saving at the same time. Seemless returns to amazon if whoever does order and finds themselves in this situation with this

For when family game night happens unexpectedly, sorry I'll go now.

I've been pondering whether to buy it since I saw it mentioned on the 20% Off Warehouse thread a few days ago. Figure that if it's on HUKD it'll sell out, so I've bought it!

Watched this video about it last night:

Maybe I'm too simple minded but I got so bored trying to watch that video and I doubt I would take this for free.......I clearly missed something

Please note that there is NO Dana with this set.

    What is Dana?

I ordered this exact deal on Friday, but canceled it in the end due to the high likelihood of fakes even when supplied by Amazon Warehouse.
I'd rather spend the extra and get it from a specialist games retailer with a legitimate unpolluted supply chain.
For games that don't tend to get faked, Amazon is fine.

It's only 25 new which is a really good price.
  17. louiselouise's avatar
Mine turned up new and sealed, looks legitimate to me (seeing as there's warnings on this thread about fake board games).

Mine turned up new and sealed. It has an Amazon Warehouse sticker on it. I wouldn't know if it's fake or not. I'm just comparing it to photos and videos online now.
