My mate says he's had 4 of these from Costco and he reckons all 4 blew up soon after buying them , anyone else had the same experience?
    dheydl's avatar
I'd say your mate needs to look at the wiring in his kitchen. You might get the odd bad item but four in a row looks like a power supply issue.

Only used the oven once or twice since buying this, and that was only for things that won’t fit in there like pizza

I just cooked my brunch in it. Sausages, bacon and hash browns. Been using on a regular basis for last two months.
    ran123ran's avatar
Does the splatter of fat from sausage/bacon not linger in everything food you cook after?

I am tempted to use my actifry for sausage/bacon but fear the smell going to be there when I cook something else as fat splatters into mesh. (edited)

Large roast chicken fits in this , cooks in 55min perfectly crisp skin , succulent on the inside . Roast potatoes then 35 mins , trimmings ect all done after in 10-15 , so easy . Best one we have had
    ran123ran's avatar
Do you do chicken first & then take chicken out and do roasties?

Do the air fryers really save on electricity compared with the new generation of ovens?
    ArchBants's avatar
They have a higher kWh usage, but heat up and cook far quicker than a conventional oven so it balances out.

Prior to getting an airfryer people in our family would turn the oven on and just leave it for 15/20 mins to "heat up" before they even began to cook. These things heat up in 2 minutes.

They're also perfect for when you aren't cooking with a full oven (which is only once a week in this house).

Anyone had issues with the crisper tray being too tight? It's my first air fryer but I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be this difficult to place inside the cooking basket...
    upu007's avatar
yes. place inside in angle than horizontally. then when it is touching bottom make it horizontal.

lol, I rang my missus up yesterday when I was in Costco to see if I could buy one. Immediately got told “no”. “There’s already too much junk in the kitchen with the soda stream and halogen”. Was gutted tbh. (edited)

Got one from Manchester this morning..!! Thank you.

We had the 5.7l version and she said she needed a 2nd one for timing was an issue.
Going dual setup was that the trays are smaller so waited for the 5.7l to come and ended up getting one off these 6.7L
So it comes out as required and one happy other half and I saved ££ on the dual versions

Looking for some honest feedback; are air fryers not a faff to clean vs throwing a baking tray in the dishwasher? It’s the main thing putting me off trying one.
    Haircut_100's avatar
Not a problem at all. I just take the tray and basket and put them in a sink of hot soapy water. Leave them to soak for a couple of minutes and then give it a quick scrub with a brush and rinse. It’s very simple and easy to clean it. (edited)
  36. dazedandconfused's avatar
I have been thinking about getting a higher capacity air fryer but I already have a microwave table top-sized Kenwood (Model K30CSS14) which is a microwave / grill/combo and convection oven all-in-one. Bugger to clean but as it is a convection oven does it already operate as an 'air fryer' and make any real difference?
  37. WazK's avatar
Had loads in store today next to dual one. I found it a little small so not sure it would suit a large family.
    GujSehambi's avatar
Don’t think anything but an oven can suit a large family. Can’t even put frozen pizzas in them lol
  38. Palouise's avatar
Excellent deal! We bought it at 55 about a month ago and love it. All others, this size, are around £100 or out of stock.

    Any stock in Bristol?

Does anyone know the wattage for this air fryer?
    YD123's avatar
1500kwh. Found it cooks really well. I have a built in oven but no idea what kwh it is. Assuming around 2000. This is 25% more efficient on paper and then it cooks 25-50% quicker too making it even more efficient.
