Expensive when the 6.3L was only £45

I've tested couple of different air fryers recently. I've got one from ASDA (Scoville one) advertised here for £40, and it was OK'ish while it lasted (two days) and then it broke down.

However, the other problem I had with it was how inconsistent it was. My chips would be golden brown around the edges of the basket only and even with shaking it, the end result was very inconsistent. The middle of the basket was basically less golden and crisp. Anyway, I've returned the unit that stopped working and I got myself a better one.

More expensive mind you, I paid £100. I know it's a lot, and it's more than double the Scoville one from ASDA cost, but I didn't bother to wait for a sale on that particular brand's unit. But let me tell you, the difference is night and day. Even without shaking halfway through it's super even and consistent and I'm all about saving time and being lazy. Browns stuff perfectly. I think it's because of a better fan? Or a better heating unit? Don't know but it works much, much better.

So all in all, considering that you'll be using your Air Fryer for a few years probably, it makes more sense to wait for a few months, save up more money and buy a more expensive, more advanced unit in my opinion. The difference is night and day. (edited)

Bought this for £32 a while ago and I love it! Just about big enough for the two of us, will upgrade to a double basket in future but this is a good start

Also, used the Asda app and got £2-3 (can’t remember) back on the app when I bought it

Seems very similar to the Tower brand

I think it's effectively a rebrand of the tower model

Isn't the Which Don't Buy a different sized one from Asda? It was when I looked in November, but it might have been tested since then. The different sizes can perform differently on tests so not always a direct transfer over of a review.

I bought mine in November. Yes it's basic & probably not the best, but it's been fine for me & unfortunately £100+ is out of my reach at the moment so this will do nicely.
