Good price reduction on this Salter Dual Air Fryer with a 3 year warranty (2nd and 3rd year on registration).

Last time I posted this it was £160!

Almost Ninja-equalling 2400w power on this although it maxes out at 210c as opposed to 240c in the Ninja.

I've done a bit of checking and availability seems pretty good. By no means in all stores but definitely stock in most major counties that I've checked.

A healthy alternative to deep-frying, this Dual Air fryer requires little to no oil, keeping the same great taste for all the family. A cooking chart and selection of recipes is included for cooking a variety of meat, fish and vegetables as well as bread and cakes.

Save 64% on energy bills using this dual air fryer when comparing the energy used to cook a chicken in a 1.8kW electric oven.

The adjustable temperature and 60 minute timer gives you control over each compartment allowing you to cook different foods together.

The sync and match cook functions allow both compartments to be ready at the same time with a temperature pause and resume function.

I’ve got this.  Good unit but the little rubber feet on the removable trays keep falling off when I clean them which is a pain.

Got this too but never had this issue when I clean the trays

What’s the difference between a ninja and this?
    wdh's avatar
Principally price, the network of professional “influencers” and warranty. Capacity will also vary by model (Ninja is a brand not one product.)
Different manufacturers (and different products from the same brand) often have different user interfaces and control options/limitations. Some can be annoying! (edited)

That’s the one I have. I got it last December for £139 at Argos.
I like it but it’s a nuisance finding metal loaf tins that fit lengthwise as they are mostly longer at the top than at the base. Metal is the best option for cakes.
I think maybe I jumped the gun a bit as I have since seen three brands of airfryer that have the two handles on the front but the drawer front is one long piece and the machine comes with a removable divider so you get the dual drawer idea but also a single large cavity for large tins, bigger poultry and joints of meat.

Search for Samuel Groves on Amazon. we bought their small metal muffin tins. not only great for muffins but they work brilliantly with Yorkshire puddings.

    These any good?

Good to see price sanity being restored!

One quirk (according to the reviews on Salter’s site) is that “airfry” seems to be a fixed preset - you need to select “manual” to adjust the set temperature…
However Dehydrate seems to be a different ’mode’ - max temp 90 (different fan speed hopefully).
I wonder if Airfry also might have a different fan speed to go with maxing out the heating element?
My guess is that Roast Bake and Reheat are simple presets that, while they cannot be customised, can be varied after selection. As would be expected, time and temperature can be adjusted during cooking.
The manual is a bit Delphic about ‘presets’ referring to “cycling through” times and temperatures… (edited)

Yep. You have that correct. It airfries everything. The settings are presets which only mean that it heats up to the temperature for each of the types of foods that has been predetermined is correct. As soon as you choose a preset, you are free to alter the time and temperature as you wish.
My Tower model works exactly the same and afaik that applies to all airfryers.

I have this and love it. Handy having two drawers to cook things independently. The only quirk I've found so far (~1 month in) is that when tipping out the tray to get your chips out or whatever, the trays fall out. I just use a spoon to hold the tray in while tipping but it's just a tiny bit annoying

More than a tiny bit annoying. A deal breaker tbh.

This good for a family of 4?

We have the 7.6l Ninja dual but the kids have long since flown so just the 2 of us. Fine for that but I genuinely think you should be looking at 9l duals for a family of 4.

No need to spend Ninja money either. Have a look at the Tower T17100 Vortx Vizion 9L Dual with the viewing windows (3 yr warranty also). Cheapest currently surprisingly is Freeman's at £149.99 delivered (£159 @ Amazon if you prefer them). (edited)

    Still fashionable I guess?

    Energy Prices still a joke?
Still more efficient than an oven?
Still easier to clean than an oven?
Still give better results than an oven for a massive amount of foods?

Yeah, guess they're still fashionable, similar to an electric kettle, central heating etc.
