So they are giving you basically £80 for your old console?!! Seems a bit of a naff trade in offer to me?!!!
    zee54's avatar
£140 no? It's the God of War Ragnarok bundle. More if you have a PS4 Pro.
  2. cameron.carter's avatar
So even on the current gen consoles, I save a whopping checks £80 if I trade in my £250 RRP Series S, or a staggering checks again £250 if I trade in my £450 RRP Series X.

Wow, what a deal. Yes please GAME, please give me far less money than what my console is actually worth, I beg you. (edited)

Doesn't the God of War Ragnarok bundle go for £540? So it's a £140 trade-in no? Or am I missing something?
  3. ka_o's avatar
This is actually a really good deal, Ragnarok edition is £540? If you trade in a normal ps4 you get it for £400.

£140 trade in for a normal ps4 is actually amazing very good deal sorry OP so many clueless people.

Well, just back from game with my new PS5, got the console for the 369.99. They didn't seem to care too much that the serial on the controller had rubbed off (which they did when I upgraded to the PS4 pro originally) I also traded in some games that were rejected a year ago in CEX due to scratches and a spare controller. I got an extra 10% on these items which helped with the overall cost. Very easy transaction and as I said above no ebay or facebook timewasters.

Was this in a Game store or a Sports Direct/Game store? Cheers

£140 saving when you can pick up a second hand PS4 for 60 quid... Hot

I went in and did this a few days ago - I put the HDMI cable and power cable in the box, forgot it came with a controller cable (as always just charged the controller off a plug), so ended up having to spend 8 quid in the town centre to buy a micro USB cable, which was annoying, so just thought I'd mention that so others don't make the same stupid mistake!

Trading in took quite a while (30 mins) as they had to do some stuff with the incoming console.

I took a few games in, but the credit they offered was less than half what CEX would do in cash, so definitely not worth it.

Was a flat £369 with a Pro - the 10 percent extra they mention for reward card customers re trade in is just on games (which it does say in the T&C's pretty clearly - I just skimmed over it on first reading).

On my receipt it said I got £6.66 worth of credit (haha), but I checked my reward card a few days later and it seems to have ended up being about £17.50. Not really sure why, I'm guessing maybe points on the trade in?

So overall ps5 and GOW ends up being about 352.50 if you have a PS4 Pro.

Picked up a month of PS extra to grab the ps plus collection before it expires and have been really enjoying Returnal. Thanks !

The extra 10% trade-in credit should include consoles according to their website
'Get an extra 10% credit when you trade in eligible PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X or Nintendo Switch games, consoles or controllers. 10% trade in credit value will be added on top of our standard in store credit price at the till point. Part or all of the credit may be loaded onto a Game gift card or Game wallet account for later redemption.'
So that'll be the reason you got more. I was thinking they would take it off the payment for the PS5 but obviously not

Game station I'm sure i rember trading in over 50 ps3 games in mint condition for skyrim and i still had to put money towards it still robbing people to this day. (edited)

Nah Gamestation of old was class, before GAME took them over and even then they were better than the dumpster fire Ashley has turned them into.

OG Gamestation had staff that knew and cared about games, would have decent priced retro stock before retro gaming meant people would sell a half chewed copy of a snes game for £1000 on fleabay and would even help you transfer your account to the new console you were trading in against in store (I did this for one of the ds upgrades).

Once made about 20 quid because the girl behind the counter hated the manager at cex and beat all their prices by £1 for each game I was trading in. It was a simpler and happier time 😁
  8. 9pth9h8fvb's avatar
No thanks. Really enjoying my series S, games from eneba and gamivo and being able to run retroarch etc.
    loopylloyd's avatar
The Series S is underrated massively.

I am mostly PlayStation but I do love my Xbox also and the S S units are tidy and good value.
  9. dnaddison's avatar
£170 for a ps4 pro trade in seems good to me. Don't have the hassle of eBay or Facebook market place. Will probably go for this.
  10. Decoded's avatar
I don't think £140 is a bad trade in price for a Series S. Just look how much CEX give in comparison. Game only sell Series S preowned for £190 themselves. (edited)
  11. lestafox57's avatar
Am i being daft here or is this just because people don't like Game? I don't either by the way. I have a base PS4 i paid £90 for ages ago and looking to upgrade to the PS5 and this is the game i wanted. What is the saving here because it looks alot to me?
    jco83's avatar
    PS5 + GoW bundle is £540 RRP I believe
  12. gfxdfvjn's avatar
GAME are the biggest rip off merchants out there, avoid all all cost. (edited)
  13. cameron.carter's avatar
But does the PS5 bundle include a free PlayStation cap, so I can be a REAL gamer??
  14. SteveSteveSteveSteveSteve's avatar
Im actually considering this. Im in the market for a ps5 and currently have the base ps4 and gow ragnarok so could trade for £399 then sell my copy for £20/£30?
  15. Simon's avatar
Thanks @dannypilky for taking the time to post and share your first deal with us
  16. crazyfool92's avatar
Surley this is a decent deal if you're trading in a the base 500GB PS4. They're essentially giving you a trade in value of £140?
    SteveSteveSteveSteveSteve's avatar
Yep, thats where Im currently at and strugglin to see the negative here!? £140 to sell my ps4 with no fb or ebay nonsense
  17. Goonermad's avatar
EBay take 15% now I think  plus I feel people put too much sentimental value when trading or selling lol they will have a ps4 that sounds like a jet plane and want the earth for it

Terrible deal no matter what your trading in.
    SomeGuy13's avatar
Find me a better deal for this bundle... Please..
  20. Apoc64's avatar
Wow, here in Ireland people give Gamestop a hard time, but their offer is way better than this (half price PS5 when you trade in a PS4 Pro)
  21. Ukguy101's avatar
Good deal this, i bet a few people have last generation consoles gathering dust at home or buy one of Facebook around £50 I've seen them for. Bargain this methinks! (edited)
  22. sambrady's avatar
So looking at this this seems to be the best price I could get for trading in my ps4 pro, unless I were down the route of selling it on eBay. In my case might be a good offer!
  23. SBK_100's avatar
Elite customers get double trading in atm. I only ever pay £3 once. Cancel dd last few months. Ps5 £360 £720game credit. Im tempted.
    jco83's avatar
You must be mistaken surely. I can't imagine they would double the trade in value of anything. Are you confusing this with getting double the amount of reward points? (2% instead of 1%)
  24. anuruddha's avatar
In 2019 I did trade in PS4 Original and paid £179.99 for PS4 Pro with Days gone. It looks like a fair deal to me. I know Game is the most expensive retailer in UK 😜
  25. deleted2852393's avatar
Can proudly say I've never traded anything in at game and never will.

Wow! these guys at Game aren’t playing around.
  31. SteveSteveSteveSteveSteve's avatar
Anyone know if you can do this at their 'Sports Direct/Game' stores as store finder has those for my nearest ones?
    McCarty's avatar
    Yes
  32. Ellendel's avatar
Looks like a reasonable deal on trade in for a PS4 Pro to me. Does anyone know exactly how the 10% extra credit works? And the couple of percent extra you get with Elite? Haven't shopped at game for a decade or so, so a bit out of touch!
    jco83's avatar
Looks like PlayStation 4 Pro regular trade in value is £126 powerup.game.co.uk/Tra…ker so you'd get an extra £12.60.
And it looks like Reward Points are 1% for consoles plus an extra 1% for Elite members game.co.uk/web…151 which would depend on how much money you pay over
  33. baddev88's avatar
Does anyone know if the console needs to be boxed?
    Ellendel's avatar
I took mine in all nicely repackaged, and they said they didn't care about the box, and that next time not to worry about it, because it was more of a pain to unpack it all to test etc.
  34. Wa55's avatar
Does the trade in have to be in good condition? I’m thinking about doing this but my controller has a broken L1 button
  35. CJohnston's avatar
This is clear evidence that the PS5 will be coming down in price or at least spawning better deals very, very soon.

Although, this deal doesn't sound bad to be fair. (edited)
  36. Carlitoheat's avatar
Anyone know if a slow drive will harm my chances? My PS4 takes the disc but the belts on the drive are worn so it takes time for the disc to go in now. ArebGame picky?
  37. iluvcake7564's avatar
Traded in today with them, normally I never get anything from game since everything is overpriced but this is way easier than selling on facebook/ebay/ musicmagpie. Until the GoW bundle is on regular sale for 480 or less this is about as good as it gets
