    I think that might be £8 for month one, then £10 thereafter. Still a good deal though

    A note about Smarty which is semi-relevant. You cannot call numbers abroad unless you top up your account with an 'extra' £5.

    If you do not spend all the money you 'can choose to put that money towards your next month's plan or leave it as an out of plan add-on'.

    My father lives in Jersey and I used to (with 3) prank call him, for him to call me back (he can call UK numbers for free). Cannot do that anymore now I am with Smarty. I should have read the small print first, my fault.

    Thankfully the dinosaur now uses WhatsApp so disaster is averted .

    That £5 top-up to call or text international numbers is NOT a monthly add-on, the £5 doesn't expire and is active until all used. (edited)

    You might want to check the specs of the modem inside the device. Frequencies differ across the world and U.K. networks won’t necessarily support that of the device if it’s imported.

    Be wary of coverage as on three network which isn’t the best

    I have that issue with Vodafone, 02 and EE, I'm not saying 3 is much better from home for me but atleast I get a usable signal and when using 3 in the car with Android Auto it never drops out when driving across the country.

    What I'm trying to say is it might be bad for one person where they live and work and for the next it could be fine, and if the phone is WiFi calling compatible that helps greatly.
