I was just looking at the specs to see if I could plug my phone into this for Disney plus

The demise of dvd has led to a massive stock of 2nd hand dvds in charity shops. Our children love picking these up and playing them on long journeys. The fact these dvd players can be seen by the children as fixed in the car also stops them trailing a tablet with them everywhere they go.

12 for £1 in one of my local charity shops, they can't give them away.
We also have a couple charity shows at the other end of the spectrum charging £2 each.

DVD players? in 2023? There's a reason they are cheap, physical media is on it's way out and they're selling you what will end up being landfill shortly. Most people use tablets or phones pre-loaded with content from an on-demand video service such as iPlayer, Netflix, Amazon etc.

Physical media isn’t on its way out but the rest of your assumptions are probably correct, tablets and phones are much better for portability

I'd rather get 2 cheap tablets and load them with films on an SD card. Sure it will cost slightly more but on the plus side I won't have to chug around DVD's.

    1) Load DVDs into large glass
    2) Chug down DVDs while your children chant "CHUG CHUG CHUG"
    3) Profit (edited)

It as a usb port so will play films through that so not really bad for 2 media players

USB only plays music or displays pictures/photos, it doesn't play films from USB (according to the manual) (edited)

Have had an earlier version of this for a number of years now and it has served us well, although this looks better with the mounting brackets rather than straps - one of ours is zip tied to the headrest these days. Voted hot

Kids use ipads or tablets. Videos and games all on there. Unless you have crazy amounts of dvds I don't see the point
