Does the camera need to be stuck out in the middle top of the screen or can you put in underneath? Bit more discreet.

One of the reviews said they did it underneath and hid the camera with their sound bar

I bought these a few backs when on sale at £50.

Just so people are aware that if you want accurate colours on your TV, then your room needs to be dark otherwise they will be distorted with additional lamps or colours in the room.

It is a bit of a faff getting it set up to be accurate and I find I end up watching them and seeing if the colours match up, instead of watching movie

It is a bit of a faff to setup, but it's done within 10 minutes and never have to recalibrate it again.

Personally I don't notice myself looking at the colours to see if it matches as it becomes part of the immersive experience, adding to the ambiance.

The app is a POS though and usually I just leave it on video mode.

I’d recommend the T2 model; dual camera, double density LED’s and at least 50% more accuracy. I’ve had both and there is a material difference from blobs of colour (T1) to more accurate and ‘smaller’ blobs of colour (T2). Big jump in cost mind you. (edited)

Has anyone got any decent deals for a similar system that goes through the pass through box?

You could buy a Philips ambilight tv has best lights

What’s the purpose of the camera for the set up?
    Paul_f1's avatar
It's so it can see what's displayed onscreen and adjust the colour LEDs to match, you can buy one that has no camera,it works off HDMI but if you watch normal tv through an aerial it won't change the colours

Says for 55 inch, ive got 49inch would it still work?

Technically would still work but the LED strips would most likely go over the edges of your tv. I have a 55” and they just about fit

There is second gen of this, seems to have improvements all round.

Had this but tried the 65" on a 77" TV. Works but colour accuracy is obviously off. Just bought the T2 version. The bigger version goes up to 85" with a twin lens camera. Much better but pricey. Still, half the price of the Philips version where it's more fiddly to switch between sources and no Dolby Atmos pass through.

Can this be paired with the stand podium light things that govee also do, as in will they plug into the hub too and work in tandem?

Trying decide between this or the T2. Anyone able to assist?
    Paul_f1's avatar
Depends on your budget, this is half the price
