    I recently got this for £5.99 that allowed me to connect 3.5" hard drives too with a DC12v adapter. An old one from BT router worked! USB power enough for 2.5" hard drives and SSD

    I could do with one of these that does IDE as well as SATA.

    There are some cheap ones available which do 2.5"/3.5" IDE and have a SATA connector, although you will need a separate adapter for molex/sata power and a SATA cable, so not as compact. (edited)
