No Asda are very strict on this discount. She would need to be paying for the shopping herself using the bluelight card as well as some form of ID, they also often check the name on the bank card being used to pay. It is also one use of the discount per visit. Strict rules due to the amount who abuse it

I got a BLC recently but I’m struggling to find anything worthwhile on it apart from ASDA. It’s probably my naivety (or stupidity) but does anyone know of any other good deals on it? Most seem to just be discount on full price items…not items on sale etc. thanks!

I don't know about Blue Light card but if you work for the NHS, one of the best offers I have seen is 50% off Las Iguanas on takeaway orders. I don't think many people are aware of that offer.

Check the Blue Light card app for which places offers discount so that you can see where else to use it.

    Can confirm it works Ok
I've linked my card to the Rewards app. Been shopping (again!) and can confirm the discount appears in your cashpot ready to claim on your NEXT visit.

Good news is that the offer appears to have been extended to 4th May 2026 !!

Although greatly appreciated, this is purely an offer to create differentials. I assume giving discount to sizeable workforce with arguably most stable job security is good sales masterstroke.

I have a blc and it is the ONLY perk I have. The savings I make are pretty megre at asda as I only buy what I need these days.

Same applies to most supermarkets but as Asda is the main place I shop I can see week by week the price increases.

The new owners of Asda are up to their eyeballs in debt. The price rises will continue as will the asset stripping (sale and leaseback).

Well that supposed permanent extension into Rewards app didn't last...only on fresh goods from tomorrow

Or rather, yes it exists, but been seriously gimped down a few levels

We are getting in touch as you are a verified Blue Light member with Asda Rewards and we wanted to let you know that from Thursday 15th June, you may notice some changes to your current benefit.

As part of the ongoing evolution of Asda Rewards, Blue Light Card holders will continue to receive 10% Cashpot benefit on all fresh products in our stores. However you may notice that other products are no longer included in the offer.

You will continue to earn Asda Pounds on non-fresh food, clothing, health and beauty, household, entertainment and homeware products in the same way as other Asda Rewards users, and you’ll still be able to make the most of all the other Asda Rewards benefits to continue building your Cashpot.

    What’s included in Fresh products?
All fresh meat, fish, fruit & vegetables, food to go, ready meals, chilled & dairy, bakery and flowers.

    How else can I earn?
Asda Rewards’ Missions and Star Products offer ways to earn Cashpot rewards on your shopping. More information is available in the app.

Pretty much killed it now, i do wonder if this was planned or it's a knee jerk reaction to the huge uptake in usage that connecting to the App would have caused. I can't believe they wouldn't have forseen that though

Apparently - it was originally until "at least the 31st March"
    corporate.asda.com/new…023

Both on Sunday and tonight the staff in my local store have warned me that it's "ending at the end of this month, but they hope to bring it back for September".

Is it just me or is anyone else not getting a full 10% anymore? I spent £13.00 this morning and got 45p back on my asda card. Looking back over last couple of weeks I have a lot less than 10%. Wonder if it's time to start shopping elsewhere #asdanotpaying10%any longer

Well done Asda , the only supermarket who do it. Gratefully recieved and encourages me to shop there, unlike Tesco who are plain greedy, worst prices, worst stock levels and now even the measly Clubcard point are cut yet again when their profits are enormous , really how much more do we take . It’s unpleasant and depressing shopping these days, don’t even get me started on the reduction of many items in size !, but higher prices .

We get 10% with the Wife's BLC, then 1% cashback with our Curve card (paid in 'Curve cash' - effectively ££), and finally 4% cashback with Plutus prepaid visa card (paid in PLU cryptocurrency)

Sometimes I turn up to Asda either during the sesh with some mates, or the day after looking like a right state. Always feel a little embarrassed whipping my BLC out, just in case I get judged. I feel like people have an 'image' of what to expect from a BLC holder.

    Work hard, play hard.

The NHS is the world's 5th largest employer, and the UKs biggest, so chances of most people having a card or knowing someone that does is pretty high. (edited)

I had started shopping at ASDA due to this offer; previously I had avoided ASDA due to previous experience of poor quality of meat and fruit/veg, but I'm happy to say the quality of these is now fine IME. Better still is the quality of the ASDA essentials range; previously some of the SmartPrice stuff was iffy, but so far there has been nothing I have bought in the essentials range which I wouldn't buy again.

I still only go to Asda for certain small things like their gluten free pizzas, this discount doesn't offset the higher prices compared to places like Sainsbury's.
