It’s worth noting that Forme has been liquidated & support may be hard long term.

True they've gone under, but this is a £200 bike with a completely generic parts spec. You'll have no trouble getting spares of everything bar the frame. The auction for all their old stock kicks off on Friday, not having factory support for one their eBikes might be a concern though!

I don't think its all stock as Pauls Cycles sells clearance stock and they must have bought some of it to offer these Forme bikes. Maybe Johnpye is dealing with lower amounts of stock. Looks like there is a lot of buyers fees and postage on top of buying any bike from John Pye and then VAT on top of that. Probably a better option for people close to Chesterfield who can collect their bike wins rather than pay £45 plus VAT for delivery.

So a £20 bike win becomes £25 then £30 with the VAT and postage is £52 including VAT so £82. That's on a bike with no warranty that could come damaged or with missing parts. It's a bit high risk but could still be worth a punt depending on the final price. Probably a bigger issue with ebikes where there are more likely to be issues. For conventional bikes probably not too bad. For an ebike it could all go horribly wrong again depending on final price.

You just got to pick you budget for a bike and stick to it.

If you spend £400 you will get a better bike. Or a better one for £600, 800, 1k, etc.

I like Forme, it's fine for a low cost MTB. For £200 it's very good.

Can't really complain, will get you from A to B. Had a great 'junk' bike once, went pretty fast on road with some slick tyres and platform pedals and was desirable enough for someone to steal it

Looks like Paul is going to be busy :/

    180cm 75 kg man here.

Thinking about getting a bike with a child seat to take my kid around. Would this be suitable? Do I need to spend more? (edited)

Will this be suitable as a road bike?
    Kostas_L's avatar
yes for distances up to 10 miles you will be fine or you can change the tyres for 20 pounds to something more road focused 1.5 wide tyres will transform this bike
