*Free items are subject to availability, please check this is added to your basket on check out.

The ASUS Phoenix GeForce RTX™ 3060 V2 12GB GDDR6 brings ultra high frame rates for today's most popular titles.

Features

  • NVIDIA Ampere Streaming Multiprocessors: The building blocks for the world's fastest, most efficient GPUs, the all-new Ampere SM brings 2X the FP32 throughput and improved power efficiency.
  • 2nd Generation RT Cores: Experience 2X the throughput of 1st gen RT Cores, plus concurrent RT and shading for a whole new level of ray tracing performance.
  • 3rd Generation Tensor Cores: Get up to 2X the throughput with structural sparsity and advanced AI algorithms such as DLSS. These cores deliver a massive boost in game performance and all-new AI capabilities.
  • Axial-tech fan design has been tuned up with more fan blades and a reversed rotational direction for the center fan.
  • Dual ball fan bearings can last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs.
  • Auto-Extreme Technology uses automation to enhance reliability.
  • A protective backplate prevents PCB flex and trace damage.
Packs a Punch
The ASUS Phoenix GeForce RTX™ 3060 derives its name from a high performance output in a robust package. A large single fan takes advantage of our Axial-tech fan design and a dual-ball bearing fan that lasts twice as long as sleeve-bearing alternatives. To raise the bar, each card is manufactured using our fully-automated Auto-Extreme Technology manufacturing process and put through a 144-hour gaming stress test. If you're looking for a long-lasting companion to power you through years to come, look no further than the ASUS Phoenix.

Axial-tech Fan Design
Better, faster, stronger
A large Axial-tech fan features a smaller hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring to increase downward air pressure.

Auto-Extreme Technology
Precision automated manufacturing
Auto-Extreme Technology is an automated manufacturing process that sets new standards in the industry by allowing all soldering to be completed in a single pass. This reduces thermal strain on components and avoids the use of harsh cleaning chemicals, resulting in less environmental impact, lower manufacturing power consumption, and a more reliable product overall.

GPU Tweak II
Monitor, tweak, and tune
The ASUS GPU Tweak II utility takes graphics card tuning to the next level. It allows you to tweak critical parameters including GPU core clocks, memory frequency, and voltage settings, with the option to monitor everything in real-time through a customizable on-screen display. Advanced fan control is also included along with many more features to help you get the most out of your graphics card.

It's cheaper and faster to rent an A100 which thrashes any consumer GPU. You could probably rent H100 but I guess that is overkill for any single user >

Here's a video about using an RTX 3060 for potato deep learning >

FP16 TFlops performance on an RTX 3060 is 12.7TFlops, on an A100 with 40GB RAM it is 78 TFlops.

So yeah you can do FP16, FP32 and FP64 compute on an RTX 3060, but I mentioned renting A100 compute because an A100 is over £9000 to buy one from Scan et al. So it can be a wise decision to pay as you go for cloud compute. Eventually all computing will become cloud compute based especially once the new network systems arrive to replace the antiquated and inefficient TCP/IP stack, long way off yet though. (edited)

Noticed its actually quite loud especially at idle. It runs at a minimum speed which is much louder than my 1660 Asus single fan. Even at 22c idle it runs at 30% fan speed. Distracting for everyday work. Might have to send it back.

Let's say you sell the mouse for £15, that's potentially a £249 3060 12GB. Not bad at all, much better than that 3060 8GB that was going for £239.99 on eBay.

As always there's caveats, with this being a single fan 3060. Reviews online show it staying cool with a beefy heatsink and being relatively quiet. I wouldn't be concerned, especially if you're building a budget build. This is a great deal

It's about time 3060 prices are coming down, but thats most likely down to the very soon release of the 4060 cards.

I think the 4060 will be sold for around £450-£500 though I could be wrong. At least I hope I am wrong.

Hmm I could sell my 1660 super for 100-150 making this a 100-150 upgrade, which sounds reasonable.

not sure i would trust a 1 fan card but thats just me, especially if you are having a long graphic intensive gaming session, the fan would probably sound like i was stood next to a wind turbine, and besides its still overpriced

The mid-range ones can, the RTX 2060 was the first that had single-fan options, I had an EVGA SC model. It's quite handy for compact builds where you are length restricted.

The new 4050 4060 and 4060 Ti due out over the next few months and the RTX 4070 which is probably the only desktop card worth buying bigger 192 bit bus 12GB memory should be around the £600 mark due in the next two weeks. So the older RTX 3000`s should see some good price drops over the coming months.

Given how Nvidia price these cards at retail and barely reduced the 30 series, I doubt we'll see big drops. Even the 20 series held value very well and continue to.
