FOR CRITICAL CREATING
For content creators and game developers who require precise colour-critical work, the new Creator Mode feature was designed for you. QUALITY + COMFORT
The Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor is engineered to avoid burn-in caused by items appearing onscreen for long periods of time. Additionally, you'll receive a 3-year service coverage for further quality assurance. And with ComfortView Plus, you can game longer, thanks to an always on, built-in low-blue light screen technology that reduces blue light emissions without impacting colour accuracy.
OPTIMISE YOUR GAMEPLAYA revamped OSD layout with centralised joystick allows for easy navigation of the monitor’s settings and features.
Among these features is the all-new AlienVision—four custom hardware-based overlays designed to enhance your visual experience in real-time based on actual gameplay.

Night Vision: Helps increase visibility by improving both clarity and contrast during dark scenes in games.

Clear Vision: Enhances sharpness and clarity by removing obstructive elements like smoke, haze or mist.

Chroma Vision: Applies a heatmap to your game based on a thermal palette.

Crosshair: Displays a crosshair that assists the in-game aiming by being "always visible", making it easier to hit your target every time.

Just a heads up this is the lower spec F edition which has known issues with 1000 nits brightness mode, and doesnt have gsync module, and is only 165 not 175hz. There was a updated firmware last week, but hasnt fully fixed the brightness issue.

10hz difference is absolutely nothing at these levels, besides the gsync module in the DW adds over 4ms of input processing lag (4.7ms on the DW as opposed to 0.3ms on the DWF). It's also a lot easier to update the firmware on the DWF so I have every confidence they will fix the HDR 1000 mode for AMD cards (it's pretty much fixed for NVIDIA cards) in another update seeing as they have genuine competition out there now from LG, MSI, Phillips and Samsung. There's also a console mode on the DWF that makes it easier for people to use with PS5/Xbox.

So I wouldn't really say the DWF is "lower spec" just because it has an antiquated gsync module that adds input lag and requires active cooling (an annoyance for some).

Ooo I'd watch the latest Rtings video QD-OLED tech failed their always on burn in test. You could say not real life use but LG OLED was way better.

Great advice, so glad I didn't get a qd-oled now when they came out!

Just something to read into about this monitor before buying. Also reports of coil whining

Had a replacement, both have coil whine/fan noise. About to raise another support ticket for replacement. Saw a few redditors tried like 5-6 times then gave up.

Tried firmware updates, lighting mode changes - nothing helped these two.

What puts me off these is the text issue for everything other than gaming

I bought one a month ago and honestly I cant see what all the fuss was about, text looks amazing to me.

I bought this a month ago, but unfortunetely, my eyes couldn't get used to it for productivity work. For games and video, it's great, but anything else, not good, text is blury, coating is disctracting during the day.
I returned it 3 weeks ago, still waiting for refund from Dell. not great customer service.

Yeah, I found it looked rather blurry compared to my IPS for reading text which is a shame. You can use ClearType to somewhat improve the situation. The fringing is very subjective as for some people they don't even notice it after a week.

Topcashback also offer 5.95% cash back (£46.98 at £789.65)

Also Lloyds bank currently have an offer of 10% cash back on all Dell purchases up to £80, so that’s an extra £78 pound off this asking price

This is a good price with the code but I wouldn't use one for anything but gaming given the recent reports into QD-OLED.

A 3rd party monitor arm is essential for these huge monitors. I got one last week for my 34" ultra-wide and the amount of space it has freed up on my desk is amazing.

Has anyone switched to this monitor from 27" 4k, it's a very tempting deal, but using the monitor mainly for writing code and I am worried a bit about text clarity.

I sent mine back and went back to an IPS ultrawide. I couldn't live with it and I don't game enough to prioritise that over productivity with fuzzy text

For what it's worth, I upgraded to this monitor a month ago (about £870), and it's worth every penny. The panel I had previously was no slouch but the colours on this display are unreal. Most apps have also sorted the blurry text issue caused by a non-standard subpixel layout, meaning text looks no worse than any other monitor in the majority of places (it *is* a software-correctable issue, so will be fixed everywhere eventually). If you have the budget, I don't think there's a better monitor remotely close to this price point. (edited)

Just to add more on the text issue. I recently had an IPS screen replaced with a VA via the manufacturer's warranty. I wouldn't say there's much between the QD-OLED and VA sharpness and sometimes I'd argue the VA is worse. Maybe I just have strange vision

Had mine at similar price after discounts, dont have any whine although did read about it before. Dell warranty covers burn in as well for 3yrs so doesnt matter for now.

Mostly using it for gaming and normal browsing, I can see if you code on it for example you might get annoyed with the text issues although its technically fixable (at OS level so need to wait for Windows etc)

If I was gaming say 60-90% of the time id certainly recommend this. I tried it and preferred gaming on the CX tbh.
