I decided on the nest floodlight instead. Read too many poor reviews of these having just 11/12 months life before water gets inside the camera housing. Or 1 month after warranty expires.

Not worth putting it up and then having to send it back or replace. Seems like a design flaw with this model if you have it exposed to the elements.

Probably fine if you mount it under something.

How many is too many. I know at least 10 people with Eufy floodlights over 12 months with zero issue at all let alone water ingress

Why would anyone buy from these liars?
They don't even have a mandatory £35 ICO registration, or if they do have one, they keep it secret.
    Hilarious.

Maybe HUKD admin should be reviewing this merchant's suitability to appear on this site.

    If it’s wired why doesn’t I record 24/7 !!!!!

You would ruin an SD card if you did that - they only have so many read/write cycles.

Edit: Actually it doesn't look that bad:

It shows charging and wired on installation video and other videos show it wired

Can anyone confirm if it needs to be wired in please?

    Thanks
    jouster's avatar
Yes this is a fully fixed fully wired system for power. Only internet connection is wireless and in fact cannot be wired

I've got two of the previous generation Eufy floodlight cams and they've both been working flawlessly for the last couple of years. Shame they don't support ONVIF as I would have like to integrate them with my Blue Iris setup

If this gets price matched with a voucher on amazon, like they often do with Anker offers, I'll be buying this. Just prefer the easy amazon CS should it be needed in the future!

Can this be powered by micro USB or does it have to be hard wired in?
    Crossbow's avatar
No microUSB or typeC, hardwired to the mains only.

Maybe the defenders of this outfit spouting hilarious info sec references can identify the merchant's data protection registration that is mandatory in the UK?
The one that costs a mammoth £35.
If those defenders can't find one, it does kinda indicate the operator is still being casual about privacy requirements,
but then also consider that the names Anker and Eufy do not appear with the current list of organisations registered with US Privacy Shield,
yet the merchant's privacy policy states user data is shared with US.

The terms of service quoted on the merchant's site also don't correspond to the merchant's sales platform.
It is not clear if this is an unintentional error, deliberate error or simple incompetence.
The terms also do not conform to local legislation.

And the site also chooses not to conform to ecommerce legislation that requires the merchant's VAT number to be quoted (mandatory not optional), unless the operator chooses to hide the VAT number somewhere obscure, which would beg the question:
    why hide the VAT number?

Until these issues are resolved it is indisputably clear that any merchant/manufacturer that can't even be bothered to spend a paltry £35 on mandatory data protection ICO registration demonstrates continuing zero respect for user privacy and statutory legislation.

Crazy good price, don't think I've seen this less than £180. My only gripe is that it recognises the dog as a human (ok, he is a big dog, that sleeps outside so get 1000s of notifications).

If this was RTSP I’d probably grab in as it’s a good price, but without RTSP I don’t really have the use for this over my existing 2K floodlights (edited)

Does anyone know if you can refer someone without having purchased anything from them before? Reading the terms it seems that you get £40 Amazon vouchers if your referral spends £200 but if you refer and they buy on the 22nd of each month then you get double. £80 on a £200 spend is huge.

I could get my mum to refer me

    Mark_Hickman's avatar
Yes you can refer without previous purchase.
I refereed my self multiple times by using multiple different emails and made my £1000 order much cheaper plus i got a load of amazon vouchers.
You also get £40 off a £200 order as well as the amazon voucher, i ordered 2 of these flood light cams when new at 289 each plus the alarm system, dual 2k doorbell, multiple cam2 pros and a solar panel, did it in 4 orders and got £320 amazon vouchers and £160 off (edited)
