It may be cheap, but that's because it's crap. That is a ten year old CPU core. I honestly wouldn't pay more than 2 figures for it, and then only if I had to. It's simply too slow for modern standards.

Wait for the Fire 10 to be on sale again, like it is at least 5x a year. It's a much more powerful tablet, with a better screen. Anyone who can install software on Windows can unlock the Play Store for more apps.

That really depends what you intend to use it for. I.'m typing on one now and it's great for emails and web surfing - It has none of the Amazon bloatware that was on the fire 8 HD that I previously bought and was sent straight back.

For years I tended to overpay for tech to get features and specs that actually I never used or needed

Probably worth dropping and extra 20 quid on the newer 3rd gen model.

Oh jeez, if it's only £20 more then definitely. It's massively better.

Further £4 off if you buy £110 of vouchers with BLUELIGHTCARD through Edenred.

You would have to be mad not to get the 3rd gen model of £20 more. The processor and resolution on this model is pure garbage.

Definitely, hadn't realised the 3rd gen was only £20 more
