    Ryzen 5600 £120
    RTX 3060 Ti £380
    1TB NVME £50
    16GB RAM £40
so £590 odd, and then you're paying £80 for power supply, motherboard, case, fan, windows 11
    Fantastic deal!
    Weehamish's avatar
crazy how basically 80% of the PC is the GPU... Nvidia are laughing their heads off

Just a note as this has arrived today, bought on behalf of a family member.

This motherboard doesn't have wifi (a520m-pro), and unless I'm being dense there's no separate wifi antenna in the box so if this is something you require, you will need to pick one up from Amazon or similar.
    Blinkers83's avatar
Got mine today as well, I had the same issue until I eventually found a WiFi usb adaptor in the motherboard box - it was in a bag with screws and spare parts!
  3. Dannyboy80's avatar
Just adding up quick and dirty maths on this, that's around a £120 CPU, maybe £350 GPU, NVME prices have been falling quite well but maybe that, plus the ram, another £130. Add in a functional PSU for this spec (no idea what it is) and I'd guess that at least brings you up to £680.

Essentially the fans, case, motherboard, windows copy and set up are free.

    Good find.
    disco2012's avatar
I'd say more £75 for the SSD and RAM, at least that's what i priced yesterday for a build i'm looking at doing. Depends what spec but i doubt it's a 980 ssd in there. (edited)
  4. gamer21's avatar
How many hard drives does it come with? I'm on mobile and the page isn't working properly for me. Last time I built one I liked how I could add two ssds (the flat ones) and a hd, to the motherboard, can I do that here? And how good is the GPU for games like hogwarts legacy? Is their WiFi on this too for normal internet and 5g internet?

Is this with VAT included? (edited)
    Czubaka's avatar
    1. No hard drives. You'll have a NVMe drive installed in the only m.2 slot on the board (these a520mare budget ones)
    2. According to the Internet these mobos have 4 Sata ports so in theory you could install 4 sata/HDD drives. So it should acomodate the drives you have.
    3. GPU is very good for 1080p & 1440p gaming but you will find that as time goes on it will struggle with 1440p highest settings due to its 8gb vram
here's how you can expect this system to perform in Hogwarts Legacy, 1440p high settings and it struggles to maintain 60fps. Perfectly fine if you're OK with dropping a few settings down.
    4. Wifi seems to be a dongle adapter - if you have 5g broadband at home or normal router it will be fine for both.
    5. VAT seems to be included but you'll need to factor in the membership fee if you don't have Costco card.

    Hope this helps.

So playing with this today... first impressions very good (but then I had a 10y/o pc that died recently so...)
    Some "bad" things so far:
    1) It says you can fit 2x3.5" HDDs in but I couldnt - very tight fit for 2
    2) Case instructions terrible. Not sure where SDDs are meant to go!!
    3) MoBo has literraly not much room for any expansion - youd need to change out the ram fully to go for 32gb if wanted.
    4) No onboard blurtooth afaik. Had to get a dongle which - with WiFi one needed too - means 2 ports taken already.
    5) No Win 11 licence key to be seen - tried the trick to get it using command prompt but doesnt work. So if I wasnt to format / rebuild the os it would be hard without losing the licence?

Hopefully wont need much expansion and can alsways sell the ram to get upgraded ram but it will do for a few years for me.

Anyway thats the negatives. Case looks amazing and the PC is very fast overall. Pleased so far for the money... (edited)
    Digicrest's avatar
Nice list of criticisms to consider. Still though if this is all the complaints you have still seems like a solid buy, especially if you don't plan to upgrade for a couple years.

    DrunkOnRedWine's avatar
Thanks, Gamemax PSU is ok, A520 definitely a budget board. Still not bad, but for me the mobo is the most important component so I'd probably spec out something stronger. The price is still great though
  7. harb2k's avatar
Is this relatively upgradable down the line? Looks like a good deal.
    fishmaster's avatar
You can upgrade RAM (depending how many slots the motherboard has, you may have to replace the existing RAM) you can upgrade the CPU to 5800X , 5800X3D, 5900X, 5950X. Probably won't be worth upgrading the CPU though unless prices drop off a cliff in the future, which could happen. You can also upgrade the storage, again depends how many M.2 slots the motherboard has whether you need to replace the existing M.2 or you could add SATA based SSD storage which is slower but not that noticeable in real world usage depending on your workload.

You could also upgrade the GPU depending on the PSU in the system.

So yes it is upgradeable but as AM4 is now replaced by AM5 no more CPUs will be released on AM4 and the future CPU options are limited but you can upgrade to 16 cores / 32 threads if you need that power for productivity. For all current games 6-8 core CPUs are all you require.
  8. Russel_Sheehan's avatar
Sorry for the silly newbie question but would this be suitable for a kid to play games on and do homework projects on further down the line? He is really into music production so ideally the ability to plug in a midi interface too?
    Sarden84's avatar
    Evening, yes it will.
but as per normalilty, double the funds, get 1.5X better.

if this is ur budget, under £700 desire it with windows, best bang ur going to get and it will cover everything u throw at it.

    it is a 6Core 12Thread CPU with 16mb of L3, A520 Msi Apro motherboard with the latest DDR6X 3060Ti 8Gb Card.

that is a good round system for the buck.

for the same price u could go more cpu intensive that do good for some music edits more, but ull lack in the graphical side for gaming and also GPU dev side too.

its also an 8Gb Card, where some ports down the line will struggle, u might have to play with the settings somewhat, but then vs a slower card with 12gb ull do that anyways as its a slower card.

Edit settings so u dont ram it, vs edit settings so u snail a slow card more. from a gamer point of view, u could knock back to an i3 and do more spend on a gpu for this cost, but will effect ur dev work.

so this sits in the middle at sweet price at very good performance.

AWD-IT Costco Systems come with their build line PSU, so it be a choice of AEROCOOl/Kolink/COOLMasters.
it be a bronze. and usual A520/B450 standard.

I've asked disco server for more details, once I know. ill let u know.

    great find op.

PS: Parts have dropped, I expect a battle soon to challenge this.

How though? That be a tuff, one. the other firm who usually battles AWD usually has the advantage of that windows loaded but with the Costco deal being a supported line, they can undercut it and that swallows up that,, so that hinders the other firm's advantage, based on past events.

other places don't do 5600, so they have to do 5600x (at what cost).

be interesting to see if they come up with something then. (edited)
    Nexy's avatar
The AWD systems we bought through Costco pre-Christmas had trash-tier PSUs at the bare minimum spec for the system. IIRC CIT, one already failed and got RMA'd.
  10. propyl21's avatar
I'm a right noob here - that 3060 Ti is equivalent to what other cards please?
    Somersett's avatar
It's usage case is more important- a great 1080P card, and OKish 1440P card for 2022 and earlier games.
For 2023 and beyond AAA games, its 8GB of VRAM is a massive downside. The system would have been infinitely better with the 16GB 6800 non-XT GPU, even if it had put the price up a small amount.

Anyway at this price, with a 8GB VRAM GPU, it's a strong NO BUY.
  11. Unrecogniseduser's avatar
PSU will be a CiT FX 700W budget PSU FYI
    InDaHouse's avatar
I believe that will be ok for future upgrades for the forseeable.

    Happy to be educated though

Oculus quest 2 compatible? Vr ready?Tia (edited)
    jasper132's avatar
Yes it will work perfectly fine! Do not use usb cables, just go wireless and you won't look back. There's not much difference between the two {when you're in the middle of a game you certainly won't notice on the heat of the moment). I used to run on a 2600x with 1060 no problems so this will be good for vr. Just be sure that the quest 2 is the only thing on the 5ghz WiFi and you'll be good to go
  13. crack_shot's avatar
Good little mid ranger,m but comes with downsides

that CPU platform is basically done- which means paths to upgrade are few and far between- i don't know if you could throw in a 5800x3d

DDR4 3200 is also starting to show its age

the 8GB 3000 series cards are already not good enough for the latest games- this was a design decision by NVidia and i hate Jensen for it (and so should you)

And yes, before Nvidia fanboys defend it, the decision to gimp the 3000 series with 8GB killed the cards future proofing

TLDR- good little machine. but pathways to upgrade are limited
    JoseChupachup's avatar
This will last a few years. Then you could buy spend money trying to upgrade this or you could just get another deal on whatever is out then.
  14. DCollector's avatar
Anyone who bought this on last deal want to update on how it's going / usage comments? Worth the money?
    exia's avatar
It's been a great purchase, mainly using to play COD which the 3060Ti handles well. What I would recommend however is that you replace the GameMax PSU as soon as possible, have a look at cultists.network/140…ist. (edited)
  15. robinson216's avatar
The main downside seems to be the extremely limited A520 motherboard. Would it be possible just to buy a slight upgrade (B550?) for £100 or so and just move all the other components to that?
    360baby's avatar
Forgot to mention you might need to update the bios for b550 so it can run the 5000 series cpu.

First time I've purchased a half decent pc since Half Life 2 released. I unboxed it and put in the power cord. I was 5 seconds from turning it on then realised there was a foam pack thing inside the case. Then it wouldn't turn on but the power cable had gone loose then the wireless keyboard and mouse wouldn't work (another silly thing). Comedy of errors when I'm distracted by work

Thanks to the OP for the deal, will report back as I only got past windows setup before life/childcare took over.

Any recommendations on pc exclusive games worth playing? Last time I played pc games it was mostly C&C Tiberian Sun, AOE 2, Broken Sword, GTA 1-3, Max Payne etc. (edited)
    disco2012's avatar
Not PC exclusive but give Titanfall 2 a go if not played, I find little time for gaming but got totally in to this game recently. Most I start and then tail off but completed this one, loved it. Was released back in 2016.
  19. very452001's avatar
Another question I have is how much bloatware do these PC's come installed with that can affect FPS gaming performance that I need to uninstall and do AWD-IT optimise the Windows 11 OS software installed after their pc building configs such as for example installing the latest device hardware drivers or chipset drivers, installing latest Bios UEFI firmware to take full advantage of the gaming hardware and PSU efficiency or do they lazily just install windows 11 and that let that it pre-install fetch all drivers (not optimised). Non optimised software installs after building gaming PC's can decrease gaming performance by up to 30% out of the box.

For example you can have the fastest most expensive PC hardware components all built up in your gaming pc config but if the software installs afterwards are lazy non optimised then it defeats the purpose.
    TheHomelander's avatar
Pretty sure They come with just windows on + all drivers

Also where are you pulling this 30% number from? (edited)
  20. iwo's avatar
Only a matter of time before someone brings up the you know what subject. Which is blown out of all proportion on places like Reddit and YouTube, because many PC gamers are insufferable like that.

Great deal, this should get hot.

Probably the bare minimum for the spec, maybe 600watts. But is it really worth swapping out a 3060ti for a 3070? they're almost the same card
    fudgebunneh's avatar
I assume this was a reply to my comment - I just happen to have a 3070 in a 10 year old pc so it's more of a why not
  22. Fredi1428's avatar
Looking for a new PC. I use it heavily for video editing (premiere pro), photo editing (photoshop) and have several tabs open for browsing. Usually these 3 tasks are all going at the same time!
Will this handle it? And is it worth signing up to Costco for? Or do I wait for other deals where its easier to buy (Amazon/Currys etc)
    Thanks!
    moshispam's avatar
Nope, you need more RAM & storage, better CPU and a better all round spec - a video card with AV1 encoding should probably be on your list too. But again depends on what you want to spend.
  23. asadayaan's avatar
Good deal on face value but be careful about the lack of info on some components i.e what motherboard is it? which memory? specs for the SSD? The power supply? The CPU and GPU are good but im sure they have been cutting corners with other components
    InDaHouse's avatar
    Good points

I do wonder what the PSU is and what the mobo is too for future upgrades?

Even some MB support higher Ryzen I’ve discovered they can’t really cause of certain components in the mobo couldn’t handle / cool the higher heat from the higher Ryzens. Can’t remember the name. Capacitors or similar lol.
  24. ethan_qWP's avatar
just bought this. Was looking for an upgrade from my 1060 without spending an absurd amount and this fits the bill perfectly. Usually would be sceptical about no motherboard and exact hard drive specs, but for the price it's well worth a punt imo + it can't be worse than my current PC.
