Don’t bother wasting time getting Curry’s to price match. They will simply say that the price difference is too big and to get in touch again in a few hours. I suspect delay tactics as they hope the product goes out of stock while they keep you waiting. Just tried... (edited)

I had the same experience as you with the online chat customer service.
I went to 2 stores too, was given 2 different excuses, 1st: they claimed that sonic direct is not registered with company house and don’t pay taxes in the UK. 2nd branch said they couldn’t verify the status of the stock at sonic direct!! To me, these are red flags about Curry’s bad customer service which will make me run away

Called Sonic Direct and they confirmed they have bo courier for long distance delivery any more so will only deliver near to bradford

Also making it extremely hard to get this price matched by anyone else :/ Annoying as I would pay extra for delivery to Scotland.
  3. SamGofton's avatar
Won’t let me select delivery, saying click and collect only from Bradford.
    Faistime's avatar
I don't think any couriers feel safe in Bradford......

I’m tempted to buy this but my washer isn’t even broken yet

Our Samsung was prob around 5/6 years old with doing prob 8/9 full loads a week so decided to sell it on Ebay and purchase an LG with 5 year warranty around 9 months ago and it's been great (think I got around £120 on Ebay for the old machine).

Also did this with our 6/7 year old TV a while back (got £150 for the old 55" TV and bought a new one for £460 with a 5 year warranty). (edited)

What website you looking at for this ?

Rubbish, I'd rather buy a scrunch an paddle and do it in the back yard like the good ol' days...Chinese tat
    Amazonianman's avatar
As much as I agree with your sentiment about Chinese tat, this one is S. Korean and is actually quite good!

How does this compare to a Miele such as this one?

Is the Miele worth near enough twice the price?

    currys.co.uk/pro….ds
    Amazonianman's avatar
Miele are the best money can buy! There is no comparison to anything LG makes. Closest competitor is Siemens, which are often slightly cheaper!

I have an old Bosch washer which is 12 years old and still working. Do not know if to replace now with this or run it into the ground? Can not have much more life in it surely?
    OB1's avatar
Obviously keep it! You'd be insane to chuck out what's clearly a great machine.

These machines and warranties are great. Very good deal
    james_jew's avatar
The warranty is worthless. I tried to claim on mine and they said arrange your own repair.

Note that I posted about this earlier, noting that the graphite version comes out cheaper (£379 after £50 LG Cashback).
    Venus55's avatar
It’s a different model not only different colour, the one you posted doesn’t have the ezdispence feature

    Collection only!!

So confusing, I thought LG where good?. Nearly bought a Hisense but was advised go LG lol..
    Faistime's avatar
LG are actually very good. Bad news travels fast. They have sold millions but complaints are few and far between.

they can't even deliver - cold. unless that guy that ran the marathon last week with fridge on his back can drop it off :-)

I'm placing an order and will ring to sort out delivery. Must be an error in their system as says on the site they deliver nationwide.
  16. Ahers99's avatar
Is this colour not included in the cashback also?
    Venus55's avatar
It’s not in the listed eligible models for cash back
  17. Waka69's avatar
Go with the Samsung, nicer colour too

When I Google LG F4V710WTSA Washing machine to read more reviews it only brings up the LG F4V710WTSE Model - does anyone know if the E at end is different from the one on this post which ends in an A? Thanks

Ordered for delivery to Manchester, many thanks, just what was needed
  20. CynicalNurse's avatar
As always although LG are good machines don't put any value on the 5/10 year warranties. LG are notorious on taking months to do even simple repairs like Hall sensors on the motor, saying they need to order parts. By which time you'll have brought a new washing machine.
    Soy_.'s avatar
I'd avoid LG, bought an £800 washing machine from them 3 years ago, the machine performed well for over 2 years before the touch screen stopped working. It was outside the warranty period and getting it serviced was quoted at £300. LG also rarely supply spare parts and issues like mine are very common. They are well built but something always breaks rendering a very expensive machine unusable.

50% off?! Bargain - good find.
    Faistime's avatar
Great deal but not 50% - take that with a pinch of salt. These models can usually be found around the £480 mark
  22. Amazonianman's avatar
LG is an excellent washer, probably the best bang for the buck in the UK these days!
    CynicalNurse's avatar
Bosch are more reliable and are at the same price point.
  23. dant198i's avatar
    Seems to be £450 now
  24. JordanEarle's avatar
They raised the price but got them to honour a lower price of £420 over chat.

Personal experience with Sonic direct has been very bad after buying a TV for £1200 on a deal that stopped working after 15 months, Sonic wouldn’t help neither would Samsung who kept asking to contact the other party. I wouldn’t buy from them ever again. And when I bought it, they cancelled the online order to take full cash on delivery which I didn’t think anything of at that time till I faced the issue.

This is a classic Samsung issue. I've been there, vowed to never buy any Samsung product again.
Your first line warranty is with the retailer, that is correct. It is for goods that were faulty when sold, even if the fault only becomes apparent later and your cover depends on how long it is after you bought it. For the first 6 months you should be made hole, sometimes maybe up to a year. But beyond a year, no retailer will help you without having promised you any extended cover.
That's where the manufacturer's multi-year warranty promise comes in. But in my experience Samsung will fight you with everything they've got to not honour their own warranty.
