Better than Asda which limits roaming to 5GB per month…

We went with the 50gb for £8 pm last month ( 2 x contracts) but yet to see 5g performance on my Pixel or wife's iPhone. Prior to this both on Vodafone and no issues 5 G some of the time and 4+ the rest. Has 5G been turned off nationally due to the airline issues with their altimeters? Rather go without 5G than have a plane land on my head!

The aircraft thing is US-specific and had been blown up by people's love of conspiracies and desire to be angry into something much larger than it really is.

No risk in the UK (or the US, in fact).

I can't wait to get away from O2 it's bloody terrible the last 3/4 years here in N.I. was thinking of Lebara I have the wife and 2 daughters on it no issues at all what carrier does Smarty use?

I was thinking about moving to Smarty from EE so I tested the SIM along side my current EE one in my dual SIM phone and I found that the signal for the Smarty (3) SIM phone was awful compared to EE so I canceled the Smarty contact.

(I work away from home so it wasn't just a local issue either.)

Interesting. I was with Three and moved to EE thinking EE would be way quicker as they have the stronger 800MHz signal that we have for our EE 4GEE Home Wifi broadband. Turned out that mobile phones sims connect to a different mast so I got a slower speed that was not as consistent as Three. 4GEE remains brilliant but not for phone.

I then moved to O2 and discovered a whole new world of misery for 11months (see other post on this thread).

In my local area the network coverage is as below

EE - best outdoor, not so great indoor
O2 - OK outdoor but great indoor
Vodafone - Next to no coverage indoor or outdoors
Three - no coverage indoor or outdoor. Even tho the bars are showing but no speeds.

All 4G experiences in a fairly build up area with building no more than the standard houses. A bit hilly but nothing out of the extraordinary.

Have to say the mobile services been really going down the pants in recent years. There is a spot in the local high street where there is 0 reception from all network. Never used to be like this.

Wonder if it has anything to do with them ripping out Huawei stuff.

I've got 6 weeks left on my crappier-than-crap O2 50GB £12/month contract that now costs £14/month. It will cost £22 to end O2 early so I might as well get this Smarty now and see how it goes alongside O2 (dual sim 5g phone). I was with Three years ago and their 3G signal was way faster than current O2. If all OK I'll PAC to Smarty next month.

Smarty and ID are on three network.
Im on ID now think its £12 a month with 100 gb month, data rollover, eu roaming etc.

Just grabbed this, ending my EE contract early.

Never had smarty but have had 3 in the past, whilst not as good as EE it does the job.

Same price as my ID mobile, also three...
Coverage is patchy, at best, and certain times of day data signal all but disappears..
-Was with Vodafone, and that was similar in data signal :-(
    Not had call issues though..
BUT for £12 I'll live with it till someone else has a very closely priced deal.

Ordered. Hopefully goodbye O2 next month.

Got it and the connection is on the whole better. Sitting on my sofa I get two bars of 4G that works. If I managed to get an O2 4G connection it would be slow as a slowey thing.

Kids lasted less than a week on this "deal".
Even with service / bars , things would not work or load. Texts wouldn't send. Calls wouldn't go through or the call was terrible quality. Coverage checker showed great coverage of course.

Moved them to voxi. Night and day.

Probably just bad in your location.
3 family members are on Smarty around London, working great for all of us.

o2 is terrible where we are, EE is ok signal, Three/Smarty is by far the best all rounder- where we are...i think all providers have a patchy signal..

Great if it works for you . And you don't go anywhere. Smarty/ three backhaul is terrible. So even with a good "signal" , it still doesn't work as it should.
