Calibre developed the Lost Lad to make adventure biking and all-road riding accessible to anyone. It’s a simple and versatile bike that opens-up new possibilities for riders on a budget. Based on the gravel bike concept, you can use this dependable workhorse commuting to work to work, doing overnight bothy missions with mates, or just for local after work loops on bridleways and towpaths.

The Lost Lad is equipped with relaxed, confidence-inspiring geometry typical of every Calibre. Paired with comfortable, grip-sure tyres and enough mounting points for all your bike-packing gear (and the kitchen sink), the Lost Lad is ready for longer coast-to-coast rides too.

It’s Calibre's version of a road bike, not necessarily about all-out speed but designed to be fun, practical and get you out riding and exploring without breaking the bank.

Feature Highlights

Gravel Bike design – More comfortable and versatile than traditional road bikes.

WTB Horizon tyres – Wide and grippy enough to tackle the roughest tracks but also roll fast on the road.

Rack and pack mounts – Fixings that enable you to load the bike with bags for multi-day adventures.

Shimano Claris drive train – Decent shifting and reliable performance in an 8-speed package.

Clarks cable disk brakes – Affordable and easy to maintain disk brakes.

Great find Wigady, voted hot. Also the same price at millets and ever so slightly cheaper at ultimate outdoors, £400 with 1.7% top cashback.

    Millets says 12.4kg.
I got the jamis A1 trail bike for £550, (now £608) then minus 40 for Quidco. Under 11kg, tubeless ready wheels and tyres.
I have since gone fatter tyres, tubeless kit and better saddle, but very happy with my purchase overall including my extras. Such a nice comfy ride!

Would I notice a great deal of difference between this and the more expensive Cannondale Topstone 4 ?
    tedjourney's avatar
Yes, the topstone will be significantly lighter, base model over twice as expensive, have a decent groupset and a more refined frame. But hey you’ll have just as much fun on this and all for just over 400 notes…Go ride (edited)

Glad to see this back on here. I understand Calibre took a break from production for a while.

Got mine 3 years ago during lockdown and have fond memories of riding about. Still have it and have upgraded to a proper road bike now. A great bike for the price.

I bough mine in lockdown too. Have you fitted new 700cc wheels to make it a road bike?
  6. jamesdew's avatar
I have this, it is absolutely the best bike you will get for under £500.

I've been looking at gravel / adventure bikes recently, mainly the ribble cgr.

This looks crazy value that I'm tempted, I'll be locking it up outside my local pure gym too, so 2 and a half of these could get nicked before I get to the cost of the ribble

Is it a true Gravel bike?

On the hunt for a good hybrid bike if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks

You'll likely need to narrow it down to yours specific use needs.

Am 6ft so in between the L and XL...Not sure which one to go for?

Went with the LArge in the end (edited)

Personal preference. I am always between sizes and have regretted it the two times I chose the larger size as too stretched. Can always get a longer stem if you want to space out a smaller one.

Mine is being delivered today, but I just remembered I haven't got any pedals...Can anyone recommend some that I can use WITHOUT having to clip them in? I will mainly be riding using normal trainers TIA

Weird - mine came with a pair of flat pedals in the accessories sleeve (where the saddle and tools are)

Edit- just realised you said being delivered not actually delivered yet. So yea it should come with flat pedals (edited)

Hi. I bought this bike. Looking for a spare inner tube in case of a puncture. So many options out there. What inner tube suites this. Thanks in advance.
