    Bought one, but it turned my Sammy TV into a zombie. TV apps stopped playing audio, Freeview went bizarre with audio from one channel playing on all others, or sound disappearing completely, or simply not finding any channels at all.
    Tried many rounds of complete resets of TV and Firestick, but ended up putting the old 4k one back in and all is good. Except that the TV now thinks it's an Apple TV plugged into HDMI1, so can't use the TV remote to control the Firestick. I'll sort that later but I spent HOURS trying to get the bleedin' thing working. So now it's plugged in the back of an older LED HD 55" Sammy, which is more dumb and the onboard apps no longer work. I've worked in IT for 38 years and stuff like the above make me despair!!!

    Same thing happened with me, i just got an S95B and my 4k Max firestick did not display signal, i put my old firestick 1st gen in and it worked but displayed as Apple TV

    Download InSSIDer. Check what signal strenght you have and what channel you are on. I bet most of your neighbours are on the same channel. If so, change your broadcasting channel and check if wifi signal improves. If it does not then consider a wifi mesh. I doesn't have to be expensive, itspecially if you are happy to buy second hand one of ebay etc.

    Do fire sticks have a quick rewind button? A bit like you find on Netflix, where you can go back 10 seconds in any streaming video?

    The fire stick has a remote control with rewind option, if you want to do a quick rewind for 10 seconds, you just click the left side of the circle button, like on a dpad.

    So I have a 'smart TV' but it's pretty old now. Advantage of fire TV is that the interface is much better and faster to navigate plus voice search actually works. Essentially it means you can upgrade the 'brains' of your TV without having to get a whole new set.

    I will recommend buying from Argos with 3 years accidental cover after applying £5 voucher it’ll be £38.98 with insurance. As last time I bought from Amazon and it was broke after 14 months and they won’t replace it after one year so best place to buy is Argos.

    Google TV. Snappier, can install almost all apps (play services requirement). UI is cleaner and less cluttered.

    Yep. VLC is available on the store, and there's loads of tutorials on sideloading apks. You can even turn on dev mode and let Home Assistant control it.

    I have one of these. touble with this is you have to wade through page after page after page after page after page after page after page of films to rent or buy before you get to a small selection of films included in your subscriptions. i tend to use my roku instead, far better for finding content (edited)

    In my TV settings there's a setting in the Audio section that let's me do this with any device, so have a look at your TV Audio settings if there is such an option.
    You can also most likely download a PDF manual for your TV to search for & view all these finer settings much easier. (edited)
