May not be officially supported on here so don't change the code you already have in the voucher field Webagents, but...
    - APPLE623 takes off £20 instead. Seems valid for lower capacity S21 Ultras as well, but cannot be stacked with any other codes
    - TCB is another £6.30 back if it all works out topcashback.co.uk/4ga…ets
    - Quidco is £4.80 back quidco.com/4ga…ets

That's a shame, hope my 2 are ok, any marks they are going back. Were you able to check battery cycles.

what about the android updates? as this is now 2 years old phone... any ideas?

Been over the moon with my S21 Ultra 512gb from 4gadets. This is a brill price for pristine. Only thing I would check is that the autofocus on the 10x camera is working. My first one would not autofocus and it's a common problem but 4gadets easily replaced it.

Is the autofocus issue easy to spot? Does it just focus-search all the time or is it more subtle? (edited)

How does that Exynos behave? Getting hot? Seems like 512 is OOS 😞 (edited)
    BentoBox's avatar
Reviews seem to say Exynos CPU is a bit better than 8 series and GPU a bit weaker.
Exynos heats up and throttles quicker under extended high use scenarios.
    Exynos has better battery life.

FYI I bought the 512gb version from here, arrived yesterday. Constantly reboots itself randomly without warning. Sending back. Was hopeful as it was listed as fair condition yet looked Mint. Guess they're defective batch. Be warned. ⚠️
    Jawz's avatar
Thanks for the update. Sounds too good to be true. Looks like they are trade ins or a random batch of phones. Sounded towards the too good to be true.
Some faults may not be apparent straight away. Shame. I was ready to pull the trigger on the next pristine that came in stock
  7. BentoBox's avatar
    As a follow up..
As well as the gouges on the edge, the phone has 20% battery degredation and most photos are blurry or lack detail. (in many cases not as good photos as my M51).
So I have requested a return and full refund as phone is not as described. (edited)

Cheers op, managed to pick a 512mb up in silver. Just silver and brown available in 512 but still some 256's and 128's in other colours available.

Where do we think these are from, Samsung getting rid parts? They are all over eBay and Amazon.

Quid @ 4.50 also for those without TCB. (edited)
    Webagents's avatar
    Author
When I ordered, brown wasn't available, only silver.

Maybe they are releasing other colours periodically.

No idea where they get them.

4Gadgets seems to be a respected seller, I didn't want to risk ebay (nowhere near as cheap as this anyway)

I did get one from an Amazon marketplace deal posted in the past, but it wasn't pristine as advertised so it went back.

People generally seem happy with this seller so I'm very happy to order. (edited)

Is this the 12gb or 16gb ram version
    Crossbow's avatar
Note that some versions of the 512Gb came with 12Gb, from samsung.com/uk/…tra - as not specified, it could be luck of the draw which one a buyer receives.

Wow this is a bargain. Im still using a note 20 ultra (was just updated a couple days ago!) and it's not slowed down even a bit. Tried to think of a few excuses to update but the phone is fast, camera is awesome, and battery lasts me all day. This should technically be even better than the note 20 ultra.
    Crossbow's avatar
    Good to hear
The Note 20 Ultra was released only around 5 months before, so still a very formidable device - compare differences here gsmarena.com/com…596
One of my cousins uses a Note9 from 2 years previous to yours (2018) & still doing fine - except for battery life, which has deteriorated over the years.

Both good deals, thanks for mentioning.

I'm upgrading from a 128GB note 9 with SD card, so already at 160GB. The lack of SD cards in phones concerns me so I've gone for 512GB. I'll probably have this new phone for 4 years, so maximum storage makes sense to me.

    From samsung.com/uk/…21/
The S21 family supports the use of up to 2 nano-SIM cards and also offers eSIM support.
Dual SIM can be a combination of 2 physical SIM cards or 1 physical SIM card and an eSIM.
Please note: eSIMs are provided by your mobile network provider. Please contact your network for more details about eSIM support

50281550_1.jpgMine arrived today. No issues with screen, but three large dings (not scratches, gouges) in the bottom RH corner.
    So not pristine IMO.
I'll have a play and decide if its going back or not. (edited)
    FrankFontaine's avatar
    Got mine today also.
One tiny chip, but its less than half a mm across, looks worse in the photo.
Other than that it’s scratch-free and can’t see any screen issues.
Though was clearly a dirty phone at one point!.
Lots of crap in it, and not even a razor blade would fit in there to clean it out…not that I would!.

    Camera is amazing.
No focus issues as others have mentioned.
Did get warm the first time I used it, could imagine it getting too hot if trying to record a whole football match or concert in 4k.
But yep, needs a good testing out for battery life and everything else.

For an ‘excellent’ at £309, I’m overall happy currently.

Just an update for other buyers:
Phone arrived fairly pristine - to my surprise.
Battery was completely out of charge though, so charging now then will run AccuBattery to see what it says.
The 10x camera is... not focussing >_< I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't many of their stock to be honest. A quick google search reveals how common a fault it is and since any buyer (worth their salt) will likely test this, the issue renders the device practically worthless to me in the future. A real shame considering I was really looking forward to finally having a recent phone with a good camera
    Jawz's avatar
Yeah, it's things like this that make me think 'It's too good to be true' and just handover a bit extra for new.
It seems that they have got a load of returns or trade ins and not checked as well as we had hoped.
I would have to spend all day running benchmarks and testing every feature and hardware with them, just to be sure.

If anything, it has opened my eyes to say that I am impressed with the Camera.
Currently have a One Plus 7T (that was powerful for the cash at the time) and my requirements have changed. I just want a really good camera, NFC and a decent screen with good sound. Not too fussed on games anymore.

Got mine on the previous deal posted the other day and the battery charge cycles was 67. So I'd guess was used for about 2 months if we're going by 1 charge a day. Cannot complain at all at this price
    Hem_14's avatar
How to check the charge cycles?
  16. WhateverTrevor's avatar
Mine have gone back also, screen burn, battery degradation, scratches. These are not refurbished pristine, they are "fair" at best.

    Not good is it.
I will be leaving them a suitable review...

I will get two excellent condition within one hours. It seem their grading is confusing. Pristine should be pristine and should not have any marks as per their own description
    Webagents's avatar
    Author
I guess it comes down the the individual that is grading them. Some will be more observant than others, and some may care more than others too.

I do think that Pristine should be indistinguishable from new. In other words, new, but can't be sold as new.
After all, Pristine does come at a premium price.

Was going finally upgrade my trusty S9 but doing my research read confusing information about VR support. I realise that this handset is to big to fit in my Samsung VR set but I thought I could just get a bigger VR set.
I use my S9 with sky player and would miss this. Does anyone on here use a S20 or above for VR playback?

It better be pristine as advertised....I've already got a case and I have a 45w charger on order

(I know it won't charge at 45w...I'm just planning ahead)

    So Pristine isn't Pristine!?
I was looking at buying one of these and was stuck between a Silver 512gb Excellent or a 256gb Titanium Pristine.
I would have thought Pristine would have been like new.
Seeing a few issues on here with scratches and screen burn, seems a real lottery.
I wonder if they will sell them new for a little bit more soon. Deffo like the idea of the Camera upgrade from my OnePlus 7T
    Webagents's avatar
    Author
It does seem to be a lottery, and I think I was lucky with the physical condition of mine, totally acceptable to me, but with a battery already 22% degraded, I think I cannot keep it.

I have asked if they will swap the battery, after all, they are selling them as 'refurbished'.

They have not answered yet, but I'm not hopeful. If they won't, I will check what refurbishment they actually perform, as a wipe over witha damp cloth is not enough.

I ordered a second one, it came today.
I would say mint screen and mint back, tiny marks one edges, little mark on bottom left corner on the front. As it is Phantom Blue, marks hardly show.

Currently charging to assess battery status.

    I will probably keep one.

No MicroSD card slot so its a no for me. shame samsung went the same route as apple in no expandable storage options (bar their lower end phones). Note 20 ultra i think was the last phone to allow micro sd expansion. Are there any deals for that?
    Webagents's avatar
    Author
The lack of SD slot is a concern for me too, but that's the way everything seems to be going.

I am at 160GB on my note 9, so I'm hoping the 512GB will last me 4 years or so.
To be honest, I should a also clean out my photos. They are all auto copied to the cloud, so don't need on my phone. But it's so handy to have at my fingertips.

I considered the note 20 ultra, but it's the 10x optical zoom on the S21 that did it for me.
I don't think the note has that. (edited)

Pristine OOS, don't want to run the risk of anything with minor marks.
How likely will they come back in stock? or do you think they are just clearing some inventory?
    Webagents's avatar
    Author
Their stock availibility changes all the time.

When I ordered, silver was the only colour, but someone saw brown was available later.

I agree with buying pristine. I bought Excellent from an amazon deal a few weeks ago...not supposed to have visible marks from 30cm, but it did, so it went back.

Hopefully this pristine will be just that.
  36. Webagents's avatar
    Author
Just taken delivery of mine, I ordered Pristine.

I'm very happy so far. If you check my pictures, you will see the following:

Minor marks on the bottom edge, hardly visible to the naked eye, but the camers exaggerates massively.
Same on the top edge, sides seem unmarked.
I want to stress that the marks shown are barely visible, and completely acceptable. You cannot feel anything with fingertips or the edge of a nail.
The back looks like it 'may' have a little touch of discolouration just below the camera bump. Again, hardly noticable and acceptable.
Screen appears perfect when off. I cannot see any screen burn but more tests needed.
No gunk in the holes/ports, or the edges of the screen.
Camera appears to autofocus at 10x, more tests needed.

Came with 18% charge, went down to under 15% whilst setting up etc. (I only signed into google, nothing else, just to install accubattery)
Now charging whilst screen off to determine battery health estimate. Standard charging, not fast or superfast.

Overall I am happy that this is probably as close to new as you can get, physically, with a 'refurbished' phone.

As long as the battery health is acceptable, an no other issues appear after more checks with the camera etc. then I'll be keeping this one.

Unfortunately, after charging from 10% up to 100% using standard charging, phone screen off, accubattery is reporting a health of just 78%

Such a shame as the phone is acceptable otherwise, I just feel 78% is too low.

I honestly feel very lucky with the two I received. The silver one (that I am not keeping) is honestly in amazing condition compared to the one's I have seen on this thread. If I had not been concerned about the battery (I may have been over critcal of that) I would have been over the moon with it.

as expected, my replacement was far worse than the first handset they had sent me. Significant gauge chunk on one side from someone attempting (successfully?) to remove the back from the device, another out of focus camera at 10x or more and handset became very hot after a 5 minute charge. I went to return via the online form and ...ta-da - site would not let me swap the quantity of returns to 1 from 0 -_-'A phone call to their very polite service number later and now I'm having to write all details in an email to receive a return label. This will likely mean that a refund shan't be issued for another bunch of days.

All in all, a company who have had my money for two and a half weeks and wasted my time at least for half of that by not quality controlling their replacements doesn't deserve my money. well done to anyone who managed to get what they paid for, but this seems about as reliable as ordering from cex in my opinion.

I returned my S21 Ultra 256GB Good condition as it was being really slow and battery poor. Company agreed to replace with S21 Ultra 512GB Excellent condition. Phone was in pretty good condition, few scuffs on camera module and a hairline scratch on lens but the mobile antenna appears to be faulty, it doesn't pick up any 4G or 5G signal. If it does it drops from around 20-30MB/s to 0.5MB/s. This happens regardless of location. I'm awaiting an update from them to organise a replacement. Not great to be honest.
