Hi, looking for my first bike in a long time to do some light trails and places like kielder.
Does anyone know how this compares to TREKMarlin 5 Mountain Bike. evanscycles.com/bra…674

I can get 40% discount via the cycle to work scheme on the one above. If any bike enthusiasts have a opinion on which us better I would be grateful to here it. (edited)

I think the biggest difference is the wheel size, the Trek has larger 29 inch wheels. It’s personal preference as to whether you prefer 29 or the 27.5 wheel  size.

Bought one of these in March after seeing deal on here- I got it for £339.99 from Wiggle and it’s a fantastic bike. After riding it for a few days I noticed the back brake was on the right hand side instead of the left so I contacted them. After a few emails it became apparent that I’d put the handlebars on upside down!

    I would say S/M 27.5" or L/XL 29" (edited)

Trying to gauge if the medium will be suitable for my son.. Just turned 12 and about 5’2” tall… Can anyone advise?

Small, however if he's growing I would get a medium anyway, will be slightly too big initially but should be fine for him anyway and better than being too small in a year.

I'm currently converting my old bike to an a electric ebike boarding on legal. This would work nice for something with a bit more grunt (edited)

For the price, this seems great value for money. I’m only just getting into biking but pretty sure this will do for me.

Daft question but does this come with pedals & if not, can anyone recommend a decent set?

This or the Kona Mahuna? I haven’t a clue specs wise but looking to get a decent entry level for the money.

£250 difference. Without looking at the specs the more expensive one usually better.

What are you using it for?

I’m presuming this is a better bet than an equivalent priced Carrera?
