I have the 55 inch version and although the picture quality is brilliant there are a number of usability issues that make me regret buying it.

    1. It flickers constantly to a black screen when connected to the Xbox Series X. It's incredibly annoying and disruptive.

    2. The home screen panel at the bottom of the page which allows you to change channels and inputs has now been replaced by a completely separate page. This means multiple clicks to change sources, access settings.

    3. The UI is slow. The Mediatek processor is not up to scratch. My 65KS9000 flagship from 2016 is faster and has a better UI.

    4. The One Connect Box buzzes when the tv is on standby. It affects a ton of people and the only way to stop it is to turn off the tv at the mains. I connect it to the Hue Plug so I can automate this, but I shouldn't have to do this.

    5. Samsung's customer and technical service is hopeless.

If you can live with the issues I've outlined and can get the tv with 5 year warranty and at a good price then by all means buy it. I didn't return mine because it was huge and a pain to set up and I couldn't bring myself to take it off the mount and put it back in the box even though Marks Electricals were kind enough to offer a replacement.

Disapointing to hear, I was planning on buying if it hits about 950.
I wasn't keen on the one connect box but your review makes me even more reluctant. Last years models had an A and B version one with one connect and one without - I don't belive that is the case this year.

Do you use Q symphony? I have a decent Samsung sound system amd that was swaying me to Samsung instead of am LG OLED

I would never buy an OLED. Ever

You don't know what your talking about, since 2016 I've only bought OLED tvs and would never go back. I've had 4 I have a 55 in the bedroom and a 65 in the lounge but am waiting to score a 77inch for around £2400 without jumping through hoops. You can't beat picture quality and colours a OLED can make even SD content look decent. Then there's the look of them just like a peice of glass, I've also never experienced any screen burn issues on any of the tvs I've owned and am forever falling asleep in the bedroom and leaving it on christ knows what but I have it to turn off after 2 hours with no input. They are a great tv and I might be swayed in the future to a micro LED when they have perfected them as they offer all the benefits with very few drawbacks.

It’s amazing how 85” look so small in pictures.

HOT! i bought one last month for £1,350 ( down from £1,500) and so far have none of the issues some people have mentioned, although if I had of known them at the time it would have made me think twice.

The 5 year warranty is from Samsung?

Following to see if this is worth buying

It is worth buying & is on an equal to the LG C2

One is QLED & one OLED & from what I have read (a lot) the only viewing difference is based on how light of dark your room is. Each one performs better depending on how light the room is.

If I can remember the Samsung is better in rooms that have more light & the LG performs better in lower light conditions.

Both TVs were considered to be the best of 2022

been looking at samsungs recently but is the lack of dolby vision an issue? I have a 4k uhd player and 4k apple tv will I notice much difference between it and say hdr10?
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
Apparently, Samsung use their own software which is on a par with Dolby.

HD upscaling is poor for example itv or BBC hd the football looks awful. But 4k HDR looks crisp. 50386137-9xMjS.jpg75 qn95b
