Good price delivered, I use a couple of chunks of these these on my Pit Barrel always well dried out and seasoned. They have been £15 delivered for quite a few months now, so a decent price drop

  • WEBER WOOD CHIPS FOR SMOKING: Applewood BBQ wood chunks, suitable for smoking beef, chicken, venison, cheese, fish, vegetables and pork. Aromatic cooking wood chippings give a delicate smoky flavour
  • FUEL THE PERFECT GRILLING EXPERIENCE: Weber smoking wood chips are great for experimenting - adding flavoured smoke wood chips to the recipe makes barbecuing even more intriguing and delicious
  • HIGH QUALITY WOOD CHUNKS: Enhance your dishes with the subtle, sweet flavoured chunks. Apple chips bring a light and refreshing feel to your plate, and provide a long-lasting burn with full flavour
  • SWEET SMOKY FLAVOUR: Apple wood chunks give off a dense and fruity taste. For smoking on smokers, or on charcoal, gas and electric barbecues. Pre-soak the chips in water for the best flavour

These are chunks (about half the size of the palm of your hand) they're not chips or pellets, more suited to lo&slo type cooking on kettle, bullet smokers or kamados

    Hi All,

Very new to BBQ'ing & never used wood chips before! When/why would one use say Apple. Hickory, Beech etc over each other & which is to be used with what or can any variety be used all the time in that they each give different flavours?

    Many Thanks! (edited)

I’m in a similar boat to you so I’ve bought hickory for a Smokey flavour for ribs and I got some oak from old whisky barrels that I intend to try with brisket. There’s plenty on the net to google or just have a go and see what happens. Some wood has a strong flavour like hickory and others like apple /cherry have a more subtle flavour sweet flavour

Not good value in my opinion. Check locally and I guarantee there will be someone selling wood chunks of various species. Wood is wood, Weber don’t use some secret fairy dust wood. Even Amazon and eBay have better deals.

I’ve got whisky barrel oak locally but the rest is either a mixture or you don’t know what’s in it
