PRODUCT DETAILS

The multi award winning Meaco 10" Air Circulator is a thing of beauty and the fan you have been hoping for. It combines market leading DC technology with a large airflow, giving you the best of both worlds.
The noise level starts from just 20dB similar to a whisper or some rustling leaves. Awarded the prestigious Quiet Mark award for low noise products.
With the Meaco Fan you have the choice and can turn the lights on for a dim glow or keep them off, whichever as you prefer.
4154095_1.jpg
Many people don’t want to wake up cold in the middle of the night, use the Off Timer on the fan and it will turn off after the set hours to ensure you don’t wake up feeling too cold.
4154095_1.jpg
The Meaco Fan 10in Air Circulator can move a huge amount of air around your room, 1,056m³ each hour to be precise. It has multi-directional oscillation that moves air around the room keeping everyone in the room cool and not just those in the direct flow of the fan’s air.
4154095_1.jpg
Featured with DC technology which has three major benefits: low noise level, low running costs and a longer lifespan.
Then ECO mode will regulate its own performance depending on the room temperature. The higher the room temperature the faster the fan speed.

How does this compare to the Honeywell turbo?
    Matholwch's avatar
Honeywell turbo uses 21w, 25w, 28w on the three power settings and is very audible.

Meaco is 4 to 5w on 1 power (oscillating doesn’t draw more detectable power on my monitoring plug, goes up to 6w on power 6, 10w on power 8, 16w on 12 (highest).

Can someone explain why this fan is so expensive? Is it just because it's 'meaco' brand or does it do something so fundamentally different that they can charge such a high price?
    Shafiq_Amin's avatar
The power output (stronger than £400+ Dyson fans), the low power consumption, and the noise level (very quiet)
  3. J_Akh94's avatar
It's £89 in store in Sheffield

Got my fan delivered today and thought what a great quiet fan. Then after an hours use on the first setting noticed a high pitch screech type of sound intermittently. Anyone else had this issue? Or am I just unlucky and got a faulty fan.
    Iceberg1's avatar
Yes I had the same issue with a second fan I purchased a few days ago. I contact Meaco and they suggested to put it on oscillate mode and select the highest power 12 and leave it running for a full 12 hrs which i did and has fixed the issue
  5. alan2simms's avatar
If possible check in store it's £84.99 in store , I have noticed some items are cheaper in store
    Iceberg1's avatar
I purchased another one instore on Sunday for £89.98 (£74.99 before VAT) so I can confirm it is slightly cheaper currently in store
  6. 1qw's avatar
Great fans! Something people might not be aware of is they are quite easy to open up and clean. Meaco have a video on thier youtube telling you how to do so.
  7. naski666's avatar
I've a fan connected to a smart plug, do these turn on if just plugged in? I'm aware there's a remote control but find the smart home integration easier.
    nanuek's avatar
No, boot-up state is off. You can get/build infrared emitters for some smart home setups.
  8. Anonymous_T's avatar
Yes these are expensive but they are as good as people make out. I've had mine a year and the airflow you get is great, the air travels much further than a regular fan. Our tower fan placed at the bottom of the bed still isn't as good as this that's on a dresser another 2 meters away from the foot of the bed.

FYI, costco do another quiet fan called woozoo, it was about £60. Although still not that cheap we first bought that but its not good. It's no quieter than a normal fan and is much smaller than this, so don't bother with it imo.
  9. samsmith66's avatar
Just got a nice tower fan for £37. Don't understand why somebody needs to spend £95 for a small fan.
    nomstar's avatar
Suggest you use this and reserve judgment. It's actually worth every penny.
  10. mikester's avatar
Anyone like me and find the constant humming of a fan soothing and helps to fall asleep?
    EngineRom's avatar
Yep. I sleep with a humming fan every night 😝😝😝😝 if I don’t put it on I have trouble getting to sleep. The noise don’t brother me in fact quite the opposite. I find it soothing
  11. Franky_1971's avatar
Have had lots of fans over the years but this one is the best by far. Got both this and the pedestal version. If you think it's too expensive for a fan, you should reserve judgement until you've tried it. Firstly it's more powerful and pushes more air than cheaper fans so the air hitting you will be cooler. Secondly, it's quieter than cheaper fans. Thirdly, there's a temperature sensor so you can set it to operate off that (Eco mode) if you like. Fourthly, it oscillates up/down as well as sideways. Fifthly, it's very energy efficient so uses less electricity than cheaper fans.

You really do need to try it to understand why it's more expensive than cheaper cookie cutter fans......... so glad to have two of these in the house, well worth the price and you really do get what you pay for. Got the second one for my son's bedroom and he was amazed at how much better it was than his previous £40 tower fan!! (edited)
    newbie68's avatar
Well summarized and entirely accurate. It will make no difference to those who think it's not worth it. They don't want to hear it.
  12. DaddyPig's avatar
Got 5 Meaco fans in the house . My 2 Dyson fans are stuck in the loft , they don't get used now .
    ChAdOx1's avatar
Why not sell the dyson fans? I’m sure they will go for reasonable amount of money on ebay. Like apple products, they retain value better than other fans.

We use our dyson fans due to small children who will try to poke their little fingers in the gap into the spinning blade.
  13. Iceberg1's avatar
No this is a smaller model 10” and the one on the post is a slightly bigger 12” model
  14. painty's avatar
Amazing fan. Bought this last year for same price. Quiet and powerful. As a fan it’s better than the dyson one we had previously.
  15. gunark's avatar
I cannot deal with fan noise and especially the clicks, and budget fans nearly always have one or the other or both eventually. I got the pedestal version of this and it’s second only to my M1 MBA as best tech I have bought in the past few years.

It did develop a fault after being in storage but Meaco replaced it without any fuss too. That in itself is worth the extra, given most cheap fans won’t have a warranty after long, whereas the Meaco one is 2 years.
  16. Slatsmcslats's avatar
    89.98 in-store, (74.99 ex vat)

Going to have to get a second one!!
  17. Mickiekokid's avatar
    I'm a big fan
  18. gen271674's avatar
    Wow. That's overpriced.
    ciderno1's avatar
    U wouldn't say that if u had one 😏
  19. justjuice808's avatar
It’s a fairly good fan with the various oscillation options and quietness, but I don’t get the awards and plaudits. I find the Honeywell turboforce fan at £25 to be more effective.
    pipehippy's avatar
No. Just no. And yes, I have both.
  20. thewolf8u's avatar
Omg! Just buy a normal fan for £30. They have greater airflow than even a Dyson fan.
    Newbold's avatar
They do. But there's no fan on the market providing the same airflow as quietly as Meaco. And that's why people who've actually bought one tend to rave about them. I've tried loads over the years. Nothing touches Meaco, and Which? takes the same view FWIW.
  21. Newbold's avatar
What’s amusing about this thread, and all the other Meaco fan threads, is that the comments fall into two halves.

Those who haven’t bought one think it’s grossly overpriced, and no better than a £30 fan.

Those who have bought one think it’s the best fan they’ve ever had.

I wonder if there’s a message there somewhere?
    Iceberg1's avatar
I’ve realised there’s no point trying to explain it to those people who don’t agree.. clearly it’s a good fan as you say those that have bought one rave about it people also fail to see all the positive reviews online by those who have genuinely purchased one Argos, John Lewis, Costco etc have an average of 4.9 out of 5 ratings if you compare that to Dyson fans online you can clearly see which one really is worth the money! Some of us can easily go out and eat out with a family of four for £40-£50 on mediocre food and complain about a £90 fan that will easily pay for itself over the years of owning one makes no sense!

I paid more than this for it over a year ago. Never seen it on sale for £80 but if I did I'd buy a couple more. (edited)
  23. Dr-Rjinswand's avatar
I have two of these desktop ones and one pedestal one. They are the best fans on the market — they circulate air incredibly whilst being very quiet.

I use mine all year round.

Bought the pedestal one last year for around £90 one of the best purchases ive ever made
    Cloe's avatar
Where did you get the pedestal one from for that price if you don't mind me asking?
On camel it says the lowest it's been on amazon is £117.99 on Nov 2021.
  27. MrSynthpop's avatar
Fabulous fan, have one in regular use with a zwift setup in the garage, and another for hot weather, the garage units been going strong for five years at this point.
  28. plsnoimmoist's avatar
A mediocre fan, all things considered. Had one for a couple of weeks but had to send it back due to an audible "click" when oscillating. Had it replaced, the replacement developed the same click, so had it refunded.

It really doesn't do anything that another fan can't do.

The vertical/horizontal oscillating is neat but a hot room will remain hot regardless. I find my Honeywell fans to be just as good at a fraction of the cost. If you're on a budget, I'd personally avoid meaco. They're overpriced.
    rwc17's avatar
Other users have fedback that the meaco fan is much more powerful than the Honeywell one when both are on highest settings though - so should have a stronger effect at same distance?

Guys sorry but are we for real.. 100 quid for a table fan.. It seems absurd
    newbie68's avatar
No it's all a joke. Didn't your read the comments
  31. jefster's avatar
I'm not sure £94 is a deal on a fan...I'm sorry but not aa it's peeing down for at least a week from Saturday And you can buy bigger fans for much less than this... Those without mortgages carry on... Its got an app

Picked this up last weekend in store for £89.98 at Cardiff Costco, really good fan and very quiet.
    Matholwch's avatar
Good to see the instore price at Cardiff, as I'm planning to sign up (and the wife works for the civil service).
  34. bayhabourbutcher's avatar
for anybody wanting something cheaper (almost half the price) but not quite as good then this may be worth considering as its still currently in stock
    devola.co.uk/pro…fan
code DEV10 gets the price below £50

    basic comparison here
    airconcentre.co.uk/blo…ans

they also do what appears to be a clone of the meaco 1065 but its not in stock i.e.
    devola.co.uk/pro…cdf

another quiet fan option is this but its smaller at 6 inches

This is my 2nd one in under 18 months, both work as intended. Even watched the delivery driver drop it on the floor whilst closing the back of his van maybe I just got lucky with mine.
  36. HungryCaterpillar's avatar
Without this fan, I wouldn't have got any sleep over this warm period.

    It's expensive, but it's a quality fan.

Edit: Having said that, I checked my emails and it was 74.25 from John Lewis in August 2021. So why the price hasn't gone down is beyond me. hotukdeals.com/dea…368 (edited)

i bought this one for downstairs last year in JL's clearence sale for £89 & loved it so much i went & got one for upstairs in the same sale for £82 & they are so quiet & so easy to sleep with & the timer so it goes off after an hour or 2 up to 12hrs is fantastic in this heat at night
  39. lynseycorrie's avatar
I have three meaco fans and wouldnt buy any other brand now. They are SO quiet while still being powerful. Great features for reducing speed over
    Time (pedestal version), on/off
Timers, econFunction meaning power is automatically selected and changes based on room temperature.
If you can afford it you most certainly won’t regret buying one (edited)
  40. ebeneeza's avatar
amazing fan, best one out there. the remote however is atrocious
    newbie68's avatar
I agree on both points. Remote feels cheap and could have been better designed and built. That being said - it does it's job so maybe not as cheap as it feels/appears
