looks okay for the price but be warned that you won't be able to use this with a timer or smart plug as it turns on in "off" mode. I got a similar spec but more basic in operation version from toolstation ebay for less than this last year and used it with a smart plug to heat my garden "office" an hour before I arrived. Worked brilliantly. If that doesn't bother you then the price of this seems good.

How much do these cost to run an hour on average

My limited knowledge says that in theory the average cost of electricity is about 34p per kWh so this would be 68p per hour. That should be worse case as if this has a thermostat then it shouldn't be on constantly.

I'm happy to be contradicted by someone who knows more about these things! (edited)

These would be given out to people for free by electricity companies if they had a solid business plan. (edited)

You mean fleecing the people, so that standing charges are now more than the average bill I pay for heating per day, isn't a solid business plan by them?

This is NOT "efficient" - or rather, it's exactly the same efficiency as every other electric heater. That word is misleading and should not be used, yet it keeps creeping back. Don't be fooled.

That can't be true...!! It must be extra efficient because it has "Wavy ECO-fins"!!
