LOL, same bike is on blacks.co.uk @ £169.15, a bit cheaper thanks to 15% off code, WORLD15
Topcashback also has 8.5% cashback for Blacks, takes the price down to £154.77 if it tracks

Got mine this morning and have to say superb service from Ultimate Outdoors although it does feel like a return item.

As for the bike as expected it is very cheap components which all seem to work just fine.

Bad points are it's a very ugly colour and just looks like a grey primer, i sort of expected it to be pearlesent grey, but it's horrible, however as an adult i won't be showing it off to my mates at school as it's just a workhorse for me, but kids may be disappointed as it looks very drab.

The dampening controls on top of the forks catch on the cables and due to the cheap switches are easily knocked.

The front wheel / forks just feel a bit odd with strange balancing and don't hold centre very well.

Brakes are bad out of the box, but probably need some time to bed in.

Despite all that i bought this as a cheap bike to go out in the bad weather so i can look after my more expensive bikes for summer days.

The gears are fairly snappy with a bit of basic setup and the limit screws weren't to far off.
Also i expected 9 gears and didn't realise it's 18 speeds with the 2 front cogs, so that was a bonus.

Lets face it with most of these online orders you don't know the build quality or components until it arrives and for me is what i expected and wouldn't pay more than £250 for this.

So £180 delivered is fine - A drab bike for drab, rainy days.

Edit: Just been for a 16 mile ride up and down a few steep hills on the road only to bed things in and test my setup with no issues at all, in fact the gears are sweet as a nut and the shifters are very nice especially the downshift.
Brakes are fine and do the job and will probably get better with time.
The suspension is probably the weakest thing for me as it just all feels a bit too cheap but does the job and it's a budget bike at the end of the day.
Had a great ride and very happy with how everything performed. (edited)

Honest review, mine arrived today, it took 20mins to put together, sadly the rainy weather put me off from test ride. The breaks and shifts seems decent, though the suspension poor as you said. Actually I did expect worse quality for this money, so no bad feeling about the purchase. I like the color, good base for stickers and decoration, at least it's not that flashy like my previous expensive bikes, yeah both got stolen recently...
    Happy riding everyone who ordered!

My gears keep slipping on the back cassette cogs
    hallucinogenix's avatar
As a brand new cheap bike the gears will 100% need complete setup /indexing and Limit Screws set (very important as you risk the hanger going into the spokes or chain coming off)

This is a great setup guide on youtube, very clear and concise :-

    You is daMAN!

Just got a large, use code JDO-DOFE-ADU for a stonking £159.20
  6. Why_so_serious's avatar
Either the spec is wrong or it's a misprice.
Hydraulic brakes and 29" wheels for under £200... Can't be.
I was looking for something a little better but I think I'm gonna go for this.
Can't see anything about how heavy it is?
    Anyone?
    AnfieldRoar's avatar
    14kg for large - googled

    Any bike Gurus welcome.

I need a cheap bike to do a few miles a day commute. I can go on or off road to my destination. I have a Marin Se old school that I bought off the bay.

Would this be at least equal? I love my Marin but I want to get it serviced and upgraded.

I need something cheap to ride and as back up. I don't mind weight, gears etc. I am pretty fit and enjoy doing hills on crap bikes..
    JonoSaunders's avatar
I would say it's not a crap bike, it's not light either
  9. sj_mith's avatar
I am 5 feet 11...is it okay for my height? Anyone?
    Why_so_serious's avatar
    Buy a large.
  10. ThermalRider's avatar
Voted hot because it's a bike deal that isn't a fancy carbon fibre machine costing mega-bucks that's worth more than my car
    MonkeyMan90's avatar
So would you vote a Lamborghini Aventador cold at 230k because you can buy a ford focus for 15k?

    Ordered!
Even though I don't really need a new bike
This is a ridiculously good deal.
Was previously on HotUKDeals, Calibre Point - Mountain Bike (S/M) £ 319.48, check out the comments.
At this price it's a no brainer.
  12. grahamohara2's avatar
Absolute bargain if as pictured with hydraulic brakes

    Quidco tracked at £9.95 also.

    Thank you OP! 🔥

Not gonna lie this seems like amazing value with 120mm suspension, internal cabling and hydraulic brakes front and rea - Which usually takes the price on a budget bike to over £300.

I can only guess that the parts are very poor quality, but would love to hear feedback from any one who has bought Calibre bikes before as i don't know.

I've bought one as my scratty bad weather bike is a bit small for me and the bearings are clicking somewhere, so this will hopefully be a replacement for that as the cost to repair usually ain't worth it and i've had it for over 20 years now - It's time to lay it to rest
  18. AndrewKay's avatar
I'm tempted to buy this just because it's so cheap! Absolute bargain! Heat from me 🔥
  19. PatioPotMad's avatar
Anyone able to advise what height this is suitable for ?
    Lilly12's avatar
    under 5'6 get a small. 6ft+ large.
  20. Lilly12's avatar
    very good price.
  21. sdaviso2's avatar
The review said brake issues as well, it is definitely a good buy if you get a good one!

Someone recommends thread lock on the pedals and crank.
  22. robstirling82's avatar
I'd say the Polygon due to branded components (Shimano drive train and Suntour fork).
  23. drspa44's avatar
Spotted this in the item description. I don't believe it is legally enforceable though. I don't fancy carrying my broken bike 18 miles to my nearest store! Much further still in some parts of the UK.

Unfortunately, we are not able to process faulty or warranty bike returns through our warehouse. If your bike develops a fault, please take it to your nearest GO Outdoors store where we have a full workshop and trained mechanics who will be able to assist you.

    Our nearest is 99 miles!!

Make sure you change the brakes, I’ve got the same on my 2020 voodoo canzo absolutely dismal. My £10 2008 saracen raw with mech disc brakes brakes better !!

Sounds like you're pulling the lever wrong, pal.

    Bargain for that spec. Heat.

Cracking deal for a basic bike!

Any where that would build the bike for you?
    Why_so_serious's avatar
    Local bike shop

Would I be best with a medium or large for 5’ 10 ? Cheers
    phatbhoy's avatar
    Medium
  29. Stevecyclist's avatar
Cheap as chips, go for it! 🔥
  30. chrissafc's avatar
5" 11 - would you go for a large bike?
    Why_so_serious's avatar
    You'd get away with medium.
    That's all that's left.
  31. atkypne's avatar
    Only medium left.
  32. charliedog's avatar
Retuned mine due to the rear forks one was 1mm short
    So
The cassette and detailer didn't line up hence no gear change
    sj_mith's avatar
How did you return please. There website says need to return to one of their Go Outdoor store?
  33. sj_mith's avatar
Just opened the box to install. Surely it's a customer return item. Everything inside the box is a mess. looks like someone took everything out and dumped all back in the box...
  34. phiras's avatar
Any suggestions on good kits to convert this to an electric pedal assist?
    Why_so_serious's avatar
I've got the tongsheng tsdz2 fitted to my bike.
Have done just over 800 miles on it.
    Hasn't missed a beat.
  35. drunk1's avatar
£14.93 Quidco paid out today, awesome! 👌🔥
  36. Why_so_serious's avatar
Bought this the last time it was on offer for same price.
Took it to Cannock chase once and rode it a few times to work.
Just sat there not being used so I ended up selling it.
Have a motor on my second bike so felt like too much work riding this
The front gears are clunky but the rear was ok after setting up properly.
  37. Porsche_did_911's avatar
On the off chance anyone has a similar issue, it seems all the seals on the brake lines failed simultaneously after three months. Brake fluid all down the levers and around the discs. My mechanic looked them up and it seems they're notorious for this issue which would explain the price cut.

Switched them out for mechanical brakes and I'm back on the road again. Having a battle with Ultimate Outdoors customer services (even though other customer reviews call out the same issue), they wanted me to do a 300 mile trip to our 'local store' before issuing any form of compensation.
