To save anyone looking, yes it's 15KG total, so 7.5kg per dumbbell.
OP added it to the description, but I scrolled straight on by personally to comments.

Could these be expanded with extra plates down the line?

Yup I bought 2 sets of these to increase the weights just last week:

You can get extra 10% off first order via newsletter sign up too (wait on product page for a pop up), makes them £32.15 delivered.

7.5kg per dumbbell? Do you even lift?

Yup. I do lots of reps with these exact weights and have massive arms. The trick is to do sets of 12 with alternatating arms until you need to drop down to sets of 5 and then failure. Eating the right diet helps too. It’s also possible to put all the larger discs on one bell and do the alternatate sets. Using a heavier weight can put you at heighten risk of shoulder or arm injury. Does anyone know if York & Opti plates are compatible, i.e. same diameter holes? Just got some Opti vinyl ones but could maybe bump the weight up with these (edited)

The standard for weight plates is 2" for Olympic style and 25-28mm for 'home'.

the spin locks are only made of vynel and after a short time will split and the weights will fall off!

If you look after them, they'll survive. I've got a pair I purchased in 2012, one with the metal and the other with the vinyl collars, and I haven't needed to replace either. Vinyl gets a little chewed up, and that's only from clattering into the other dumbbell.

The price has been reduced on these dumb bells down to £27.99. I used the 10% code for signing up to the newsletter, this took the price down to £25.20. However the postage is £6.95, taking the price payable to £32.15 which I'm ok with personally.
Thanks Titanium and z11 for the info (edited)

Which one is good, this or Opti cast (which is 20kg and £40)? (edited)

I would look at the diameter of the playes and compare that. The smaller the diameter the more movement you can get when doing curls. (edited)

Why is this marked as FREE?

Even for those starting out these are useless, if you use these for more than a couple of weeks they will be redundant.
If you want to start doing this sort of excercise cheaply without laying out for expensive sets of weights just grab a standard wooden bar stool which will be a not dissimilar weight and away you go, advantage is you can sit on it and catch your breath once you are done.

I bought mine off ebay 2 months ago as I needed to get back in shape. I planned to start getting back in shape and fitness with these.
They are still sitting in the shed.
I'm still in the planning phase.
    Rob_Samsung's avatar
It's not called a shed. Personal gym. That's not yet opened.

Anyone else getting the 10% off code? Seem to be getting a message telling me they'll keep me updated for special offers.

I have these and also have massive arms. Good purchase. They have a smaller diameter than plastic ones so you can curl them better. I also have plastic ones but prefer these ones.

Anyone able to recommend a good start set of dumbbells including a stand please?
  23. soniash744's avatar
Not free as advertised on the hotukdeals email.

Is the 10% code generic? Signed up with three different emails and none of them have returned a code email (only a welcome email with nowt on it).
