Got an email with a voucher for this patio heater, knocking it down from the site price of £150 down to £45. From what I can tell, it has retailed just under £100 elsewhere in the recent price, but this still looks good from a recognised brand with decent reviews.

"Heating up to 6 metres in seconds, our weatherproof wall-mounted patio heater provides light and warmth so you can enjoy your outdoor spaces all year round." - Gtech Site

9/10 review.

"According to Gtech, the cost of running the HeatWave is approximately 30p per hour. That’s based on an average electric tarriff of 14.40p/kWh. (that is 2021 prices - so about 65p per hour now)

The reason behind this efficiency is again the infrared technology.

Unlike traditional gas or electric heaters, infrared heaters convert almost 100% of the electricity into usable heat, all while using a lower wattage in the first place."

Thanks for your contribution. Do you have a 2nd floor flat or something?

Got two of these late last year, they're very decent. Heats my roofed veranda area which is 6.5 x 3.5 m nicely. You can feel the heat about 3m away. They're infrared so the longer you sit there, the warmer it'll get. With the sides down we were using them when it was 0c outside at new years and it was very warm. No temp adjustment though, just on or off. They worked out about a tenner to use both all night for about 7-8 hours but we often just use one (edited)

Sorry it's a no from me. For a mere 65p an hour you can heat up a 1m X 6m strip by a degree or two, which will then be instantly dissipated into the surroundings.

These are low energy / high efficiency compared to standard patio heaters, but sure you can choose not to use one.
