    Note it's 11th gen i7.

So what? It's a 3 year old processor that is still overkill for the vast majority of users.

I'm typing this on a Zenbook with an 8 year old i5 processor and its still more than adequate.

If mine wasn't still working brilliantly I'd be all over this. (edited)

Anyone got experience with this model? I’m worried about the cooling/fan noise.
    CENTRALPERKS's avatar

I've read this model is much quieter than previous versions. I'd probably keep it with the stand up even when charging

Can I install an extra NVMe please?
    CENTRALPERKS's avatar

Not an extra one no but can replace with a larger capacity. I've got a spare Intel 2TB at the ready

If anyone can recommend a perfect fitting case that will also accommodate the stand function (but not necessarily support tablet mode) that'd be handy

10 locations, 9 of them with only 1 in stock, one with 2. A bit of a gamble to go to the store specifically for this unless you ring the store and they confirm they still have it. At Homebase, every time I found a good deal with 1-2 pieces in stock and I purchased it, I was told they couldn't find it...Hope JL is better organised.

Excellent price for this spec - 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM alone would be enough to seal this as a 'good' deal but a convertible OLED touchscreen + stylus, premium build and i7 11th gen makes this exceptional and a great find. The i7 is still quad-core and the integrated GPU is solid for a compact system. I really don't think this will last long.

A very premium laptop for not much money, would go perfect for a student writing notes and usual computing. The spec in general it's something you'd expect with a laptop double it's price, albeit the CPU is a bit older but still highly capable.. what a steal 🔥. I'd buy if I didn't already have a 2 in 1

I am surprised OP found such a high spec machine that’s still in stock and not hotter tbh. The convertible form factor normally attracts a huge premium, but you’ve also got lots of RAM, SSD, an OLED touchscreen (a real highlight if you are using it for media or content) - I’m sure last time something like this turned up for this money it was an i5 with 8GB RAM (and as it’s fixed you really want more). 16GB gives this some real long-term appeal.

wow heat. Who cares if it’s gen 11 i7 ? I didn’t get an iPhone 14 cos I don’t have the money. Buy what you can afford if you don’t have the money for the latest or greatest. But if it’s a deal and it does what you need it do then buy it (edited)

I bet these won't last long either. This deal was too good for people to pass up on if they were looking for a solid, all-rounder laptop.

John Lewis coming with some pretty good deals as of late. I recently got my hands on an unopened Dell G15 5515 with an 80W 3050 for £449 from the Intu Trafford Centre John Lewis. It was reduced to clear in those glass cabinets. Seemed to be stuffed with loads of computers. Dell XPS 13 unopened was £500.

Damn, I live like 10 minutes away from the Trafford Centre. Might have to scope out some deals.

Had a quick check, they go for £949.99 on Amazon
    50532732-Xh78a.jpg
And the lowest it's ever been was £749.99, normally around the 900 mark.

Yeah, whoever managed to get one. Hope this makes your day

Thanks OP - ordered this earlier. Seems perfect for a student!

Does anyone know what the model number is? I think it might be UX363EA but not sure.

Can't see it listed on JL anywhere.
    plewis00's avatar
    plewis00
That seems to be the one people think and expect, see post from above. I wouldn't have paid £900 for it but under £500 is a complete steal, even £600 for that spec would have been good.

FYI, JL shows this product code 90NB0RZ1-M18470 which if you input into Google matches with this:
ASUS Zenbook Flip 13 UX363 | OLED Laptops | ASUS UK - Online store
UX363EA-HP768W (90NB0RZ1-M18470) - search within the page. (edited)

Just noticed it also has Thunderbolt 4 which means eGPU support if you're inclined (which I am as this makes more sense to me than a compact gaming laptop like the Flow X13) and USB C charging support that specifically states wide range, so hopefully not picky over voltage like some.

Also often overlooked but Intel Evo support means:
    • Consistent responsive on battery (not plugged in)
    • System wake from sleep in less than one second
    • 9 or more hours of real-world battery life on systems with FHD displays
    • Fast charging with up to 4-hour charge in under 30 minutes on systems with FHD displays

If you've ever come back to a laptop in standby that has run itself flat, you'll know how great this is.

Must have been clearance, no reason for it to be this cheap. This would have got far hotter had it not been limited stock - hopefully OP snagged one.

Question: if I would not like it, would J&L had issues with returning it after opening?
    plewis00's avatar

They probably will but if you’re unsure or likely to return it, I would avoid, you don’t want to end up stuck with something you don’t seem sure on. (edited)

Arrived today - only just had a chance to have a look. It's a beautifully crafted machine and quite stiff, not floppy and easy to twist like older ZenBooks. The one thing I am having a bit of a mare with is the compressed keyboard, it's like they've tried to cram an extra row in (or save some vertical space) and all keys are about 10-15% less tall than they should be so I am mis-keying and also that silly single height Enter key (this isn't a US model!) and # key in the wrong place? I have no idea why they did this - any other touchtypists tried this and find it's throwing them?

It does include the Stylus with pressure levels which is a good inclusion. The touchpad is really smooth and no 'float' (rattle) like some Vivobook Pros had big QC issues with. (edited)

Picked mine up today. Definitely happy with it for the price but it's a little on the sluggish side for me. May replace the SSD but I think it's got a pretty fast one in there already. Also might look into installing windows lite but will probably be a faff to get everything working in tablet mode
