I couldn’t believe these were EE. The signal was atrocious and I can barely make and receive calls. Ended up leaving in the end which took a month of contacting them. Customer service was equally awful as the service.

I have a different EE sim that works fine. (edited)

It doesn't use full EE Signal. They block the use of 800MHz/Band 20 4G Signal which really affects signal especially in rural areas. It also means you can't call over the 4G Network and must drop to 2G or 3G to do so.

In future, if you want full EE Signal, you either need to stick with EE Direct, or go to 1P Mobile, CMLink, or Popit. These are the only companies that make use of the full range of EE network frequencies.

I thought it was Talk Home Mobile that made the change.

Not seen a plan from RWG costing just a few pence a month as yet.

Both RWG and Talk Home Mobile are on EE network.

Or have I got this wrong. (edited)

Unfortunately no picture messaging on RWG mobile.

Whoever isn’t using other forms of messaging for multimedia doesn’t deserve picture messaging (MMS)

This deal has been running and posted on here for some time.
It was supposed to end today.
    It`s probably a permanent deal.

    I`m with RWG, no complaints.

Got the talk home deal for £15 a year as don’t need more than 1GB per month. Everything works as out of the box and free roaming in Switzerland which is one of the countries I need. Also SA just 1pMB. Barbados 3pMB bargain. Sky charged £4MB for barbados.

Talkhome has improved a lot and has a rep here. This is still a goid deal but the TH one suites me better. Has anyone noticed Sky (o2) have got a lot better around Sussex. Full bars and 4g in a lot of places.

Not sure about RWG but TH does not have volte the call drops to 3g but they assured me that it’s coming later this year as 3g is being switched off. Tbh do i need a 4k call? i don’t think so, normal pots and 2g is has been sufficient for years. So long as I can hear the other person I couldn’t care a less. I appreciate everyone else has different needs. Already got my PAC from Sky and so will be moving over.

hi Anon32 I went on Talkhome website but cannot see the £15 a year deal? Could you share a link? Thanks

Would porting to RWG from TH and visa vera work as both use Nowtel? Or would it create a problem? (edited)
    KodaBear's avatar
I know you can’t port between RWG and Now. I can’t specifically say one way or the other about TalkHome but I assume it will be the same as RWG in that it’s just a special tariff that sits on top of Now Mobile.

You could try asking customer service if they can simply reprovision your SIM card to the alternative brand you’re interested in. Otherwise you’d have to port out and back in again via a different network I imagine.

Problem with 2gb these days is phones and all their background applications absolutely drink data
    KetanS's avatar
You can disable background data on a per app basis on Android.

Ive gone with these. I went for the £35 for 2 year option, same allowance

I picked up a lifetime sim ages ago for £5 that provides a very limited amount of data and I use it as cellular back up in my alarm system.
The alarm system does provide updates when the cellular drops out and it is really rare.

Customer service is limited though I have never had cause to ring my network. When it arrived I emailed them and they ensured it was activated pretty quickly.

The cost is minimal and so you cannot expect EE levels of customer service. You would pay a lot more for a similar service directly from EE. (edited)

Both finished on 30th June have 5 and 10 g at decent prices £40 and £60

    I’ve sacked mine off already.
I had 2gb a month and it ran out despite the fact my phone saying I had used around 800mbs since installing the SIM card.
was using it to tether a card reader and absolutely nothing else yet they claim I’ve used all the data in 3 weeks.
no app to check your usage and having to wait for email replies is just archaic in this day and age.
    bozo007's avatar
Your phone should be able to tell you how much you have used. On Samsung, it is Settings - Connections - Data Usage.

Please do not port your precious number in to this company if you decide to go for this deal as their customer service is non-existent if you have any issues at all. Just try and dial their customer service phone number now and see what I am talking about. Takes ages for them to reply to any email (if you are lucky).
    TomBoyNI's avatar
I porter a number for my Dad. It had issues and never ported within the two days.

One email and about 12 hrs later and everything was grand.

I’m impressed how efficient they actually were given the price.

SIMs for me, my wife and mother in law working fine, with port in within 2 days. Rural reception (Aberdeenshire) and indoors can be a bit tricky at times. I had the same problem with Virgin after it moved to O2, so this is similar but a lot cheaper. Hoping for band 20 access being enabled soon... (edited)

I'm an existing RWG customer and have a couple of SIM cards from them, they have just sent out a newsletter advising that today is the last day to purchase these plans. Remains to be seen if they get replaced with anything similar.

Just had an email from RWG, copying here as may be of interest to some :
"Please hurry! Our 1 Yr and 2 Yr sim offers expire today so please hurry to get these locked in before the summer."
Relevant links in OP's main description.

I have the 2 year for £35. Had mobile data issues for a few weeks but was resolved after replacing SIM card. No other issues so far
  25. blida251's avatar
    Works fine

I'm still waiting a mobile phone off these guys. They sent the sim out, but the phone yet to arrive.
  27. Anon32's avatar
No worries. It seems to be working fine. It does drop to 3g for calls as they have no volte. But you can hear people fine and it will come before 3g will be switched off. All the settings worked first time. Just to let you know I topped up a fiver but it was £4.50 think it’s 10% off. But I have £15 on there. So a yearly sim plus £15 to use for non-EU roaming etc…

Sky is still cheap it has £2 roaming to use your allowance in Switzerland and SA but unfortunately Barbados is £4MB. They’re negotiating must be terrible for that price.

    Anyway. Hope all goes well.

How long do they take to process orders? I bought this about 2 week ago and still haven't received the SIM card yet! Doesn't really inspire confidence in them!
    Donny-Kong's avatar
My sim didn't take long at all. If I remember correctly ordered it in the evening and arrived the day after. So 2 working days. Drop them an email. They respond really quickly.

I have trouble with Talkhome as they only let you have one monthly contract per account - even though they let you have as many sims as you want per account... just crap...the rest have to be payg and potentially get less data per month.

RWG - may be the same company but at least they let you have what you want and no stupid restrictions.

Talkhome have just lost my four sims due to their terms...
  31. Frostygills's avatar
Anyone received a Sim Card for this? I ordered on the 1st and it still appears not to have been sent. I've e-mailed support and they haven't replied.

Edit: Scrap that, it turned up today. (edited)
    Smileee's avatar
I'm in the same boat emailed them and they replied within the hour saying - Your SIM has been dispatched but is slightly delayed due to a now resolved issue at our distribution center. Your SIM should arrive shortly.
