How are these compared to the ones with a heatsink?

I bought the one with the heatsink and wouldn’t recommend if you think at some point you might need to remove it, it isn’t easy. It’s held to the drive with a very strong adhesive on the bottom side. It’s a pain in the ass to separate. (edited)

This and the FireCuda are the best NVMe PCIe 4.0 drives out there for consumers.

Anyone ever actually used the full speed of their PCIe3 m.2s yet? Let alone these 4.0s.

Pretty sure games dont even shift sata ssd levels of material.

Still waiting on direct storage useage huh? By the time that comes.. all our m.2s will be out dated as heck.

Yeah, just decided to get a gen 3. Have had gen 4 for years and it didn't make a blind bit of difference.

Saving even 20 quid now is worth it imo unless you're doing mass video editing etc.

Cracking deal ! I paid that for a SN770 6 months ago and at that time it was a good price. Bring on the 4tb under £200 I say

With price dropping so fast with NVME Gen4 drives, we might see 2TB for under £100 soon

Hmm, I already have one of these doing game storage duty on a Z690 board and I'm wondering if I should get another and RAID 0 them :/
    fishmaster's avatar
    fishmaster
RAID 0 offers zero redundancy, which is the whole point of RAID, there is no point this is already quicker than you need for gaming.

It’d be nice to see a similar drop with the Xbox Series X nvme. Unfortunately still £270 for 2tb though 😩
