Can anyone give me their opinion on the controller screen in the sun please? I was interested as my mobile gets hot and the screen gets dimmer by the minute!

The DJI RC isn't perfect, it would be nicer if it were brighter. But, I previously had an original Mini which used a phone attached to the controller, and I much prefer the RC for the convenience, and to be honest it probably is still brighter than a lot of phones out there. And you can buy sun shields for about £15. Also, the battery life on the RC is pretty good, it'll last several flights without having to drain your phones battery.

Interested in this as some of the pics people have in their reviews are amazing but i really don't know enough about drones, are they complicated to use?

What SD card would you recommend for this? To take advantage of the 4k recording.

I only use the SanDisk Extreme Pro cards in mine (Red & Black). Not expensive either.

Just a quick reminder that this is Intelligent Battery and not the intelligent Battery Plus. The plus allows more flight time so is better, but also weighs more so takes the drone over the 250g threshold.
Thought I'd mention that in case anyone needed a reminder

Great drone... I took this with my Mini 3 Pro recently

The colors you get out of this tiny drone are absolutely incredible. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now but this was footage from my first day of flying - and I’ve never flown a drone before so it shows you how effortless it is to use. Some of the video is slightly jittery as I didn’t have the best SD card (you really need one of the crazy fast ones if capturing 4K).

I was a first time flyer as of about a month ago and it's very very quick to get the hang of. It's still, mind you, not a toy, and there's dangers involved. But I'm gutted I didn't get one sooners

Here's a clips or two from last month

Another random video I have made with my Mini 3 Pro:

Note that this is severely cropped, as I was doing a "circle" of a windmill - when flying I wasn't taking any notice of the screen, as my eyes were fixed on the drone in the sky. It wasn't until I got home and examined the video that I noticed this boating incident! Looks like no-one was harmed thankfully!

This is an example of Amazon upping the price to make the deal look better. But if you’re interested the price is OK and an extra battery is good. These drones take a little practice to fly but if you start off slow and don’t go silly they are awesome. You have to stay on your toes when you use them and some locations are easier than others. Love mine.

Keepa suggests thats not the case here, it does not look to have dropped a lot on Amazon in recent history.

Were you thinking of the DJI mini 3 (not the 3 Pro?)

Okay, I have been eyeing up this drone for last couple of months and finally I've pulled the trigger. Everyone I talked with praised this drone. Reviews show amazing videos and
photos. And seems like this is the best price so far.
It's not great that the fly more combo isn't in the deal but extra battery helps to justify it.
Any must have accessories you guys could recommend?

Hi, I cant see anywhere saying 'extra' battery. did it not come with a battery before? or is there actually a extra battery included?
  19. imawheel's avatar
    imawheel
Good question...it doesn't look like it does, but it's basically just the spare propellers that might not be included? I'm not sure how important it is having them (i.e. how likely they are to break) or how much a new one would cost if you did?

Is it likely that anyone getting this would probably want to buy the Fly More Kit as well? Or insurance?
I've not had a drone before, but have been looking at them for quite a long time now and not sure how essential some things are...
    Thanks

I might get a dji insurance separately. Never had a drone before expecting that not everything can go smoothly

Guys flyer ID is enough to fly this drone OR Do I need operator ID as well ?
    KiNG's avatar

you dont need a lience to fly this drone unless you are getting paid for your work. its under the regulations, 249g.

what memory card did you all get for the drone?

i went for the Kingston SDCG3/256GB micro SD Card (256 GB microSDXC Canvas Go Plus 170R A2 U3 V30 With SD Adaptor) amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1

    Recommended by DJI

Any ideas of insuring the drone, didn't see am extended warranty option on amazon?
    drey2005's avatar
    drey2005
The problem with dji insurance is that you need return old drone to repair but with drone if you loose it then probably you will not get anything to return as you lost it) flying for 7 years with dji drones just got this deal through)
  29. shivclicks1's avatar
    shivclicks1
Another question if I may. Is there a way to find out which areas are prohibited to fly the drone and which are allowed? Is there a website or does the drone doesnt take off in prohibited areas? Actually it would be helpful to know before we travel to those places. How do actual drone flyers use it?

What have people bought to charge it with? I guess you'll need a separate charger for both the RC and Mini 3 Pro drone as well (or do them alternately)?

Didn't realise it wouldn't come with something to charge it straight away, I could probably charge it from the USB-C on my laptop for today though... (edited)

That looks like a good price for the Two-way Charging Hub, I think you'd still need to buy a wall charger to plug that in though as don't think it comes with one either?

I'm probably just gonna get a wall charger to charge the battery in the drone (or maybe one with two outputs to charge the RC too) as the charging hub only charges each battery separately anyway... I think the charging hub charges faster, but it's like 56 mins compared with 64 mins, which is pretty minimal.

I guess the bigger benefit of the charging hub is if you're out and about you can charge another battery whilst you're flying your drone - you'd need a usb c power bank for that though (which I also don't have), so probably just gonna charge both batteries before I leave for now!
