Are these any better than the Bluetooth/WiFi ones you can get to use with your phone?

Anyone know anything about these. This one looks decently priced with a voucher at £17.95 but dunno what features these things have or what brands are quality. amzn.eu/d/h…RR0

That one looks better but I'm really not sure, if anyone knows it'd be much appreciated. Tempted to cancel my order for this to get that.

I read bad things about the cheaper bluetooth ones so I thought I'd stick to a cabled one for now...

According to Amazon price history this one in this post (£15 one) was £30-47 before. Not sure if it was the same model or not.

Can also vouch for a cheap bluetooth one and Torque Pro for Android - thats what Ive had for years.
Infinitely more information available, and realitime feedback on lots of data from the engine, and you can even decide what graphs, dials, or graphics for what engine parameters you wish to see on screen, eg oil pressure, throttle, temp, and a million others I cant think of just now.

Handy item to have especially if you have a used vehicle

A decent quality Wi-Fi / Bluetooth one is infinitely better than this, which is highly unlikely to be able to read any dtcs.

My wifi obd2 reader, paired with the car scanner app reads the official Lexus / Toyota fault codes, gives live data on engine coolant temperature etc

Hopefully it comes back in stock at £15. I guess it's a bit better than the cheap ones from china? From memory this looks like the ones sold at Aldi was it?

This third-party seller ShozeDirect has these for £3.99 + Free Delivery amazon.co.uk/Sho…Q8L
(Ordered when it was £4.99 and it showed up last week - ordered on the 4th, arrived on the 10th).
Also, this Youtuber gives an in-depth look at it: (from 9:12):
Some recommend bi-directional tools, but they're quite a bit more expensive (I have no idea about them, really). (edited)

these can only read/clear MIL's fyi, which for a lot of cars won't get you anywhere if you go into limp home like me.

Personally, I found it better to buy a cheap Bluetooth one and Torque Pro for Android.
There are many advantages - on top of all the stuff that this one does, many of them can do JOBD, and they can show you things like oil pressure and throttle (not revs) as well as being able to do accurate 0-60 timings (if that's your bag) and depending on your car, other measurements.

    Something like this:
    amazon.co.uk/dp/…CXL

Sorry iOS fans, these don't work with them so it's not for everyone.

They're also really useful if you have an Android head unit (leave it permanently plugged in) or a table based system. If you've a Turbocharged car, it can also show you boost via the ECU which is useful so you don't need a separate dial. Not entirely sure if it'll show superchargers too, but I'll shortly be finding out......

Been using these for years and had quite a few different models. They all do the same thing. Bought a Bluetooth one off Ali express for 2 quid (3 items 6 pound) and worked exactly the same. Plus it was Bluetooth and worked perfectly with my phone and tiny. If you just want to diagnose using the codes and turn off the management light then go for the ones that are a few quid. (edited)
