If you can get Three's 5G, I don't think there's a better network for data. To have unlimited 5G at £12pm, that's incredible value. Of course there's always Smarty who regularly offer £15/16pm rolling unlimited deals (+ free roaming), if you prefer not being tied into a contract.

The problem in my experience with Three is when you get out of those 5G areas; of course that experience will vary depending on your location. When I was on 4G in Central London (again, location dependant), my data was essentially unusable. I've experienced that a few times recently which is frustrating. In the right areas though, I was hitting 1Gbps on 5G.

I'm tempted by this, just because of how good that 5G is. Hopefully the Vodafone merger will bring about some 4G improvements (they are substantially better in my area for 4G, 100Mbps+ vs 5Mbps). (edited)

Three is useless anywhere except in the city. Even sucks on the edges. But damn 5g in my house was about 500mbs. I'm also hoping the merger will help. Because Vodafone's signal is pretty good

Can I use this SIM with a SIM 4g hub

I have used previously unlimited three Sims in the past (not data only)

Just wanted to make sure it will still work

    Yeah it'll work

Stupid question is the auto cashback "guaranteed" I took a virgin media contract where I had to claim the cash back (it took 4 months to wait for the claim state) then another 3 months of pestering the deal provider to actually pay the cashback)

    Thanks for any info cheers

Crazy, 3 are rubbish yet their piggybacker Smarty provide a better service, and, same price, monthly contract, much like the old company Life.

Try Vodafone if you think Three is bad…

Three have the worst signal of all. Cold.

Let's be honest all networks are garbage now, it's just specific on your area. It's a lucky dip and customer services are as good as gone for 90% of telecoms businesses. Its all sent to India for cheap yet useless handlers.

I don't know know why people don't just do 1 month plans to check they're happy with a network first, there are ways onto all 4 networks at a reasonable price without a contract... Once you're happy then go on a contract if desired...

Have been using this as my main broadband with a Cpe pro 2 for nearly 2 years and it's been mostly great, sadly the last 3 months have been horrendous in this area. Slow speed during peak times and the Three checker stating work going on every time I check. Finally got rid and signed up with the nowtv broadband deal posted on here.

I hope someone can help! I’m on this package after over a few years which I decided to ask for my PAC late last night thinking of going for the O2 £5 a month contract! Three text me back saying if I switch today I’ll have to pay £57.12 which includes any cancellation fees and outstanding out of allowance charges!? How can it be this expensive to cancel!? Thanks in advance!
    CMSeddon's avatar
Depends on when your contract ends. I'd be surprised at that cost if you're not in contact. But if you are usually it's anywhere between half up to 100% off the remaining contract cost that you pay to exit early.

Worst Network!! I miss out on calls, connection drops, zero signal at home, wifi calling saves me..120gb data, i end up using 2gb in total..
The only thing positive is £1 caffe frappe from Nero.

The thing with these SIM threads, is that everyone talks about their personal experience (especially the quality of the signal, speed etc), as if that would apply to everyone else in the same way. (edited)

Horrendous customer service deserves to be shared so people can make an informed decision. It’s how reviews work and is important in a purchase decision. As important as price or possibly more important.

Really surprised by the negativity here, i have been using three unlimited sim for my home internet since last 5-6 years and its been perfect. Yes it has its moment of few outages but those have been extremely rare on ocassions. I have rarely had any issues with three network and i have been their constant customer for last 6 years and i live in a rural village of Northumberland

What is the EU roaming allowance?
    afn's avatar
£2 per day for 24hr roaming (Can get 3,7 & 14 day bundles that are cheaper I believe). Data is 12GB fair usage policy then 0.3p/MB surcharge thereafter. (edited)

oh bugger I just signed up for the moneysavingexpert deal.

If I only had a single SIM phone, I would not be with Three. But for a dual SIM phone? Definitely worth considering. Heat added.

Finally got rid of three contract and switched to O2 three months ago, after paying c.£40 exit fee charge.

The roaming charge is a killer if you travel often. 2weeks holiday will increase your monthly bill from £12 to £40, so it wasn't worth it.

The signal was also quite patchy (Manchester) but again, I can't say that O2 is flawless, so...

Overall, would recommend to stay away.

O2 has been horrible for me. can’t wait to go back to smarty in September

Been with talk mobile four months been to eu twice no charge for roaming no service issues

Same but I thought I saw that they stopped roaming for new contracts now?

If you order this, and then get rubbish signal can you cancel it in a few days?
    EggEgg's avatar
Good luck with that, that's what I thought and even more so as it's through fonehouse. They'll both blame each other but you'll get nowhere until the end of the cooling off period arrives then they'll try and bill you to leave. Three blamed fonehouse and vice versa. Way worse than contacting vermin media and that's saying something (edited)

Stunning deals coming out of Three and their piggybacks Smarty and especially ID mobile. Shame their network has been rubbish in my area for years. (edited)
  22. GimmeGimmeGimme's avatar
An awful network to say the least.. I was in a 24 month contract and after 9 months I’d had enough. There has been an outage on the network in my area for months on end, after filing 6 complaints, I then decided to tell them I’ll be reporting it to Ofcom/Ombudsman, and as soon as I mentioned that, they allowed me to leave the network with no early fee.

This network is likely better in city areas - certainly not suitable for rural areas.
