Only getting one android update......Not good enough
    tonymgx's avatar
Agreed - just had a quick search. According to the policy set, the brand has announced that Moto G 84 will get one major Android OS upgrade. The smartphone run on Android 13 out of the box. According to policy, it is only eligible to get the upcoming Android 14 update. After this, it will not be able to get any significant updates.

G32 - 4GB ram, 64GB storage, dual sim, headphone jack, microsd, supports custom roms. 100 GBP

    Updates are over-rated.
    plewis00's avatar
Depends - OS updates maybe, but security updates are important.

No other phone at this price point offering that combo of RAM, storage and an OLED screen.

Motorola have only just last week released Android 13 on the G82 - Motorola once had
a good rep on updates - but in my experience thats long gone (edited)

    Still, better late than never
Was pleasantly surprised to hear a friend's lower-end G62 received Android 13 recently.
Sometimes lowering one's expectations can be a good thing. (edited)

    No free QC 2s?

I'm tempted to get this. Imo very good for the price 12GB/256GB watching some reviews on YouTube.

If launch price is £249 probably gonna get even cheaper sooner or later..

Looks like a decent mid-ranger, given that the combination of decent screen, lightweight design and camera with OIS (a rarity for some reason).

Might keep an eye on the price of these.
    Wooj's avatar
The rarity is probably because OIS is more complex and expensive to implement than EIS

Pretty insane spec for the money, 12GB RAM shames many flagships (though not sure if it wouldn't have been better with 8GB and more money allocated elsewhere)? 256GB base storage + microSD also nice. Is there actually a better phone under £250 new?
    Crossbow's avatar
I agree with you on the 8Gb RAM & perhaps put towards a slightly better SoC/camera?
But the 12G (& 256Gb to a lesser extent) could be the main selling point here to draw more people into buying it.

I'm glad that Motorola continues to offer phones with 5000+ mAh batteries and also keeps the headphone jack. I prefer using wired headphones so the headphone jack is a must for me. I don't like dongles.

Been looking at the redmi 12 note pro, any opinions on which might be better? (edited)
    hermano2's avatar
Depends on needs....no micro SD slot on the redmi

Interesting phone spec for price, wonder what Xiaomi will roll out to compete? Anyone knows nearest competitor models with 256gb and 8gb+ram? I suppose UFS 2.2 is not that bad considering most budget phones/tablets run on 2.1? And we also get microsd slot where competitors now slowly tend to not include.

Nice specs, great price. Pity I bough Samsung A54 recently.
    SClub's avatar
    A54 is decent too though?
  21. Jastons's avatar
    Better than a galaxy s20?
    Crossbow's avatar
Not even close in most aspects gsmarena.com/com…526 - this has a larger screen size, 5G (if you have the 4G S20) & battery life will be far better on this, but that's about it.

How is this device? Thinking of either getting this or the Edge 40 Neo.

How is the device? Mainly how good is the battery? Any sot info?

Also camera any the device in general?

    Is it dual sim?

Advise on if I should go for this or the motorola edge 40 neo?

Hi - Any idea how this compares to the Oppo Reno8 ?? and in terms of camera performance - especially in low light/night time as the reviews on the Oppo suggest it was fairly decent in that area? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
