Their garbage site insists on a house number despite my house not having a number but a number on the building. There aren't enough address lines to make it work with this split across two lines either

Didn't for me and I have neither a house number or road name, just a name and village!

    Shame it doesn't have GPS.
When I had the Mi Band 5 I had to take the phone with me to track my runs.

However answering calls on the watch is quite nifty. A bit like they had on Star Trek and Blakes 7.

I liked the Mi Fit app as well which works with this.

Is there a watch similar but made by Huawei? Pretty much done with Xiaomi watches.

Huawei do loads of smart watches. Slim watches, kids watches, super smart watches. My kid has Huawei band 7 currently and it's great.

Bit off topic but hope this helps someone looking for a good-ish budget smart watch, especially those disappointed with some of the reviews of some of the newer Xiaomi smart watches.

I managed to pick up Huawei Band 8 on Amazon for £31 during Prime Day, I'm not quite sure how as when I added it to the basket, the deal price was £39. Anyway, I'd been waiting months for it to come out in Europe, the Xiaomi band 8 having had pretty average-at-best reviews, and begging The Quantified Scientist to test it, which I note today he finally has, link here:-

    (190) Huawei Band 8 : Scientific Review - YouTube

I'm a bit nervous to watch it! It was a bit of a pain to set up, the Huawei Health app having been dropped by the Google app store, you definitely need some patience. It's constantly reminding me to exercise, which I guess is the point, and flashed up that I'd walked what people seem to feel is the recommended daily amount of steps. I anticipated that sleep accuracy is probably poor, as other Huawei watches have done pretty badly on that metric, though budget watches in general are terrible at sleep tracking, so I also bought a Fitbit Inspire 3 to cover that, as that seems to be a relatively strong area of Fitbit.

Edit, sure enough, terrible sleep tracking like other cheap watches, but really good heart tracking if you can't afford a good chest strap, Apple Watch or other expensive tracker.
