Bought thanks, thinking of replacing some of my garden solar light batteries with them?
    coony's avatar
You need lower mah for solar lights. Essentially they run down at night and get charged during the day. If you only get enough sunlight to charge say 500mah then on a 600mah it'll be nearly full charge and will have the rated voltage of 1.2v until it starts to run down. If you have a 1100mah battery and you only charge it up to 500amh then you'll already be getting a voltage drop so it might by below 1v. A lot of the solar lights stop working or switch off below a certain voltage so you'll actually get more light from a lower mah battery as it'll output the voltage for longer with a smaller charge.

    Hope that makes sense.

These are pretty rubbish, didn't last a month inside an analogue wall clock.
    plewis00's avatar
Analogue wall clocks are one of the places where cheap Zinc batteries make more sense. Low voltage rechargeable chemistry is not so good for clocks or low drain applications.

Opinions clearly vary on these as you can tell if you look at past deals you'll see half the posts recommending and half complaining they are rubbish. Have to say my experience has been negative. Mine discharge very quickly when not in use and have average life from a full charge. Maybe there are a lot of fakes around.

I have had the same experience. Compared to Eneloop Pro they self discharge quicker. I will only buy the Eneloop now.

I've been using these for a few months in some Sennheiser wireless headphones.

They seem to last a decent amount of time - comparable to Eneloop Pros in my experience - but I'm not sure they're really 1,100 mAh.

For example, my headphones start to beep every so often when the batteries are about to go flat. When I charge them, my charger (XTAR VC4 Dragon) shows the capacity at around 850-900 mAh. With Eneloop Pros it's around 900, but they are rated at 930.

I would still take these over the Eneloop Pros though, cos in my experience they provide basically the same performance, but they are way cheaper.

I've had 1100mah batteries before and they are always around 900. Then 800mah are around 600-700. If you charged super slow around 100mah maybe you would get slightly more.

Just don't.... These are awful. Don't hold charge for long (even if aren't in use). Huge difference between these and Varta for example. Pay more but don't waste your life on changing batteries every other day.

I've used these, and AAs, with no real issues at all for years. Mainly being used for Xbox controllers and powering LED lights (inside cupboards etc), and they last a decent amount of time.

I do find that if left for a month or more they lose a bit a charge, which I notice as the LED lights start to dim sooner than if you used a freshly-charged pair. No surprise perhaps, but might be annoying if you kept them charged for months at a time. I tend to just charge them up before replacing them. I think I had 1 fail out of about 20 batteries, but they replaced them with no issues.

Great batterys, I have lots of different brands of rechargeables and these seem to hold the charge longer, maybe I'm insane but they do.

I've found the same no issues at all

Widely varying reviews of these. Decide for yourself...

I've used 16 over 12 months in a variety of items needing them and they last well and charge fast and back to business don't have a massive comparison on other batteries but remotes last forever pen torch last hundreds of hours, BP machine again hundred hours and portable alarm clock only ever charged once... And after half hour it's charged fully and that's it, no complaints here maybe quality control with other people isn't good but my personal experience has been 100% no problems

Where did this brand come from? Been generally familar with the likes of GP over the years, but these seem to be everywhere all of a sudden? Is it a reband of something else?
    Arc's avatar
Its not new, been around decades. Looks like it used to be a US company but is now Chinese. All their products in recent times were cheap Chinese made. They have addresses in USA and China, but their lack of western style address details and some chinese language in their websites (see copyright notice in 2nd link) indicates they're Chinese. Check out their 'about us': eblofficial.com/pag…-us
    Or this version: eblmall.com/con…-us

I bought two Siemens DECT handsets that came with EBL rechargeable AAAs in them - they lasted about 5 years. Then I replaced them with Energizer and then Ikea LADDA and all those failed within a year or two. Now I have Eneloops in them which have been running a year.

Basically, the quality of any particular of their products seems to vary wildly -some are amazing, some are rotten. (edited)

I use this brand, they're decent
  22. Immotek's avatar
Have a lot of the EBL 1100mah AAA's, they dont usually reach 1100, but 900-950+ is common with some >1000.

One of the worst batteries I had. After 3-4 charges they don't work anymore. The charger doesn't see them anymore

Terrible batteries. Avoid. Discharge very quickly when not used and don’t last long when fully charged.
  32. rrr99gp's avatar
I bought the Li-On rechargable AA's that are slowly emerging. I never ever looked back. Amazing tech that none of the big names want you to know about (because they're effin' amazing, even lasting way longer than high end Alkalines!).
    daddybr00's avatar
So what are they and where did you find them?
  33. jswhat's avatar
These batteries are alright, that's about as far as I'd go though. Bought some when I needed some more rechargeables and couldn't find any decent prices for eneloops.

They don't hold a charge anywhere near as well as eneloops and the capacity has dropped significantly over the 18months I've had them.
