If you're in a particularly grimy corner, the Digital Motorbar cleaner head can ramp up the power to clean it all. And it has built-in detangling technology that stops it from getting clogged with hair. The piezo sensor counts and measures the dirt as you clean, so you'll see the proof of the deep cleaning on the LCD display.

Good to know

- It comes with a 2-in-1 combination tool – it's got a brush and wide nozzle
- There's a handy crevice tool that helps with edges and tight spaces
- Get under furniture with the low reach adapter
- 60 minutes of fade-free battery life gives you plenty of time to clean
- The multi-stage filtration traps up to 99.99% of particles and allergens – even if they're as small as 0.3 microns
- A powerful Hyperdymium motor spins up to 125,000 rpm to pick up dirt easily
- Muck stays sealed inside thanks to the whole machine HEPA filtration that traps tiny particles
- Dust and dirt will be lifted and trapped with the Root Cyclone technology – it means there's no loss of suction
- Clean almost anywhere – it converts to a handheld with one click
- You can stay well away from the dirt thanks to the hygienic bin – it makes it simple to empty
- A wall-mounted charging dock helps to keep your vacuum ready for when it's next needed

Just watch out for the plastic on/off trigger which can crack on these models and render the vacuum unusable - it is DIY repairable with a third party part at £7 (not an easy task), or Dyson will happily sell you the main unit for £85.

I’ve currently raised this with the finance company I purchased through as Dyson are ignoring emails.

Dyson customer service is brilliant but only if you call them

£377.99 with 10% code on BLC. Tempting.

Thanks for flagging that the BLC has 10% off! Combined this with Perks at Work 6% cashback with instant e-gift card. Worked out c.£355 in total.

Way, way over priced, even at this discount.

I have been repairing DA's for 31 years and all Dyson product have always been priced beyond their real life performance sold my marketing. Over engineered and poor material quality, been to some of the launches and face palmed at some of the design decisions.

What brand would you recommend at the moment?

I still have the V6, as long as you clean it you can make it last

Same. V8 going strong for 4+ years so far

Dyson products are SO overpriced for what they are. Competitors are cheaper and can be better too - people need to stop believeing the hype! (And yes, I used to be a fan. Bought three over 7 years and then moved to a competitor when I kept having issues and refused to keep paying stupid prices. The one I got was honestly better in almost every way!)

You are allowed to say the make/model you moved over to.

Tempted yes, then i remember how many dysons we have purchased over the years, each with their own problems.fantastic at first and yes I've cleaned filters etc.latest one charges up OK then is intermittent when in use. out of warranty of course. They are so overpriced now too.

I picked mine up on Sunday and I am very pleased with it. Blue light and other company discounts all entitle 10% and I took advantage of that making it £377.99.

Being able to clean stairs without using a mains powered vacuum is a luxury and allows a superior clean. It's battery life is fine, I've installed the wall mount which is looking good. And most importantly the performance and in particular the rotating head for carpets etc is picking up a surprising amount for a portable vacuum. Notably higher performance than the V6 I owned a few years back.

My one anxiety is longevity. My V6 worked well but only for around 2 years, if this is anything similar then I'll be disappointed.

Did yours come with the laser head? Curry’s description lists it as included but isn’t listed as included on the Dyson site.

Good price. I paid 650 for my one plus the stand so this plus the stand is £130 cheaper. And I bought a v12. So very good price!

I managed to buy for £377.99 with 10% through my work discount scheme. I could not get Currys gift vouchers (further discount) to work, the scheme just loops back to home page. Applies to BLC as well... fairly annoyed to miss out on a further £20-50 saving I should be entitled to through work.

I used to swear by these, but then I tried my fiancée’s Henry. It’s a joke that these things even exist; a vastly cheaper and older Henry is OUTSTANDINGLY more powerful. Like it’s not even close.
That said, they are horrible to move around and use, so I still love my cordless Dyson for that, I even have an actual shrine for my cordless Dyson, and I think it’s great for ease of use and quick clean up, but please keep in mind how weak and low powered these are and how they can only pick up small things. They get blocked by even a few tiny Pom poms.

Cracking first post and congratulations too on your first hotukdeals thread

Personally got the new animal ball 3 and think it’s better than any of these cordless vacs. Had the anti tangle hair unit too. Much more powerful too

Of course. It’s corded. Cordless is no replacement for corded.

I had a Dyson V6 and loved it but it only lasted 2 years, now it just does this start/stop thing - it initially was fixable with a real good clean but now it's just not operating properly.

I'm happy to buy something like this, expecting more suction than the V6 (I dont care about how long it lasts, V6 was always fine). The only thing I really care about is can I expect 5 years of 'day one' performance? Otherwise, this product is just a pain in the rear - literally appears to me like most big manufacturers these days design stuff to fail to encourage more purchases.

Our V8 is going 4 years strong. The only issue is the battery life, which is expected to deteriorate after a few years. It still otherwise performs as it did from day 1 and picks up really well

I do give it a strip down and full clean every few months. But otherwise it’s been very good ! (edited)
